About the property

Cabin, 4 Bedrooms + Office, 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 10-12)

This log home was built in 2005 and is made of half-log pine. At the end of a paved road, it is very quiet with no automobile traffic. It is 3300 square feet on 3 levels with an elevated deck of nearly 1000 square feet. It is on a 1 acre lot with lots of grass, massive oak trees, pine and spruce. The lake is to the south and offers warm summer breezes. It is both a kid's and an adult's paradise.

The water is clean and only chest high 200 feet from our shore.. The beach and lake bottom are sandy. This is the best beach on one of Minnesota's top 5 lakes.

It is our retreat and vacation home.

About Matt Noah

I am a software engineering manager in Fargo where I live with my wife and children.

Matt Noah purchased this cabin in 1986

Why Matt Noah chose Minnesota

We have owned this property since 1986. We rebuilt the cabin from scratch in 2005.

What makes this cabin unique

It is quiet since it is at the end of a paved road. The water and lake bottom are perfect - clean and sandy. The water is shallow - only 3-5 feet deep for the first 200 feet from the shore. The neighbors are great. While there are 1000+ cabins on the lake, it is not busy like a Minneapolis lake. There is great recreation - tubing, skiing, fishing, swimming in the summer and snowmobiling and cross-country skiing in the winter.

Very Pleased

  • 5 of 5

I visited for my grandfathers 90th Birthday, as a surprise to him. Not only was he delighted that I arrived, he was also very impressed that we booked a great cabin for our stay. He was able to stay with us a few nights (with grandma's permission). The cabin was very private, spacious, and most important, CLEAN. We appreciated Matt's kindness and service. He even came out late one night to make sure we had working internet! HIs wife, whom we met while there, was very kind as well. This cabin made my experience in travel (and I travel a lot) the BEST I have ever had.

Great Family-friendly Place

  • 5 of 5

We're longtime VRBO renters and previous rental listings have always provided photos of the inside of properties. We were a little nervous about what we'd find since this listing has just the one photo of the inside of the cabin. However, our party of 12 was pleased to find the cabin spacious, well-maintained, comfortable, and family-friendly (youngest in our party was 4 years old). We love to cook (and eat) the kitchen had plenty of dishes as well as crockpot, mixer, baking pans and such for making meals. The kids loved the ping pong table and even though it was winter, couldn't resist the tire swing out back. A summer visit would be great for taking full advantage of the lovely deck, yard, and lake. The owner was very pleasant. Upon arrival he gave us a walk through tour and answered questions. At the end of our stay he was flexible about our departure time, did another walk through, and was prompt in refunding our deposit. Would certainly recommend this property.
