Excellent location, quaint and comfortable!

  • 5 of 5

This rental is the perfect location to explore New Orleans. Walking distance to so many sites! We ate oysters at Acme Oyster House, wandered Bourbon Street, took our own walking ghost tour, shopped on Royal Street and the French Market, window shopped and listened to street performer music on Chartres Street, saw Jackson Square and all the artists around, enlisted a street poet to write a custom poem for our family, went into St. Louis Cathedral, walked along the river, visited the WWII museum (we walked there), watched a parade, ate beignets at Cafe Beignet, grabbed a muffuletta at Central Grocery and we even drove to Klieberts Alligator Farm in Hammond for a tour (loved this!) The home was our perfect base. It's quaint and historic- we were very comfortable and loved our stay here! We brought a lot of our own food so the fridge and small kitchen were wonderful. Our family loved to eat out in the courtyard. Sleeper sofa worked great for our kids. There is parking nearby at a Premium Parking lot (if you download the app, you can get a discount). Cost is around $40-50/day. Tip: make sure the courtyard light is turned off when you go to sleep or the light shines right in the master bedroom window, even when the blinds are closed. If I could make two suggestions, it would be to replace the mattress- it dips in the middle. Also, possibly considering rearranging the room and putting the bed where the armoire is and the armoire where the bed is. This would allow a couple to enter/exit the bed from each side and not have to climb on top of each other to get off and on the bed. Really minor details though! Thank you for letting us stay here and sharing your home with us.

Fantastic Location

  • 5 of 5

Very cute & cozy apartment in a fantastic location. Even though it is right in the center of all of the action, it is set back enough that it is quiet at night so we had no trouble sleeping. We would love to return and stay here again.

Perfect Hidey Hole!

  • 5 of 5

This was a fabulous gem in the midst of the French Quarter! Walking distance to so much in the Quarter but a quiet oasis as well. Absolutely perfect from nearby parking for my truck to most comfy sleeper sofa ever to fabulous food nearby. Truly the best of the French Quarter!

Unbeatable location!

  • 5 of 5

I was with a party of four (two couples) who stayed here three nights, and this place worked for us amazingly. The sleeper sofa on the first floor was super comfortable, and because of where the room is located, it is surprisingly quiet given how close you are to the crowds. Would definitely stay here again when back in town. Thanks!

Perfect position, pleasant apartment

  • 4 of 5

Spent 4 nights here in September.

Mary was excellent, prompt communication and very helpful.

The position is ideal, central and perfect for walking the quarter.

The apartment is at the rear of an old house ( now also apartments) and secure as its off the street.

Well equipped.

Cooking facilities are cramped , but there's so much great food in Norlins we really used it very little.

Quite narrow and steep stairs to the bedroom, which might be an issue for some..

Recommended.

Birthday Celebration

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and I came to New Orleans for a long weekend to celebrate her birthday. We stayed at Mary and Keith's place and fell in love with it. It was very clean and well maintained. A perfect size for 2 people as well as a wonderful location. We were easily able to access Jackson Square, the French Market, Frenchman St., Bourbon St., the ferry and the Garden District. When you go you MUST try Oceana's "house oysters" (they are to die for), and the BBQ shrimp. Palace Cafe has the best bread pudding and cheesecake we have ever had!!! Another must...Voodoo, graveyard tour (especially if you get Mike the tour guide). I learned so much that day. The only disappointment was that we had to go home.
