Treviso Villa Rental Photos and Description

Villa, 7 Bedrooms, 6 Bathrooms (Sleeps 14)

This large luxury villa is immersed in the heart of the Veneto wine region of Italy and is perfectly located just 30 minutes from Venice by train and 20 minutes drive from the popular beach resorts of Lido Di Jesolo & Caorle (Ernest Hemmingway's favourite seaside town). The train from the local town of San Dona Di Piave transports our guests right to the side of the Grand Canal in magical Venice and from there can either walk or take a Vaparetto (water bus) down the Grand Canal.

We are convenient to both Venice Marco Polo and Treviso airports (30 mins from each).

The villa sits at the end of a private road nestled amongst a Walnut farm and a neighbouring Veneto Vineyard.

PLEASE NOTE CAR HIRE IS ESSENTIAL TO STAY HERE. We are 5 minutes drive (7kms) into the large local town of San Dona Di Piave. You can walk to the nearest village or take the bicycles through the walnut farm for essentials in the village. The property is equipped with every luxury from the Venetian antique beds and furnishings to the luxury Egyptain Cotton bedding, Duck Down Pillows and Duck Down Duvets (anti-allergy). UNLIKE MOST ITALIAN VILLAS THERE ARE MOSQUITO SCREENS ON ALL OF THE WINDOWS HERE.

The house is really big and cool inside and we also provide fans in all the rooms in case they are needed, but these are only needed for the hottest few weeks in August. The Villa is accessed by double electric gates and there is plenty of parking space.

The living area off the kitchen (complete with new oven, new cooker top, new dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine) has been decorated in a more contemporary style, but still with a touch of the classical and opulence. This area houses a large Sony Bravia Smart TV with Wifi, Home theatre system, DVD player and SKY Satellite TV with International news channels. Double doors from here lead onto the glamorous tranquil luxuriously furnished South facing sun tanning terrace, which is very Nikki beach style and is lit up at night by wonderful candles & torches to make a perfect setting for outdoor entertaining. A BBQ frames the terrace area for that summer outdoor dining experience.

There is a well- equipped gym and a laundry room with new washing machine and high speed WIFI works perfectly around the house and out onto the sun terrace.

A tour of the fabulous local wine cantinas is a must and if you like Prosecco you are in the heart of the finest Prosecco producers here andcan buy the best at a fraction of the price elsewhere. Take your pick of the best Veneto wines to accompany perhaps a fresh fig, Mozzarella and Basil salad, made from our own fig tree in the gardens. We also have plum and pomegranate trees.

There is a very up-market Italian Designer outlet store about 5 minutes away at Noventa di Piave which they come to by the coach load from al over Europe. Here you can buy e.g. Frette bedding for a fraction of the prices you would pay in Venice, plus Armani, Prada, Gucci, Fendi and all the leading Italian brands. There are local restaurants within a few minutes drive that are a really high quality, with very low cost compared to what you will experience in Venice. The local supermarket is only 3 minutes drive away. The road we are located on runs alongside a narrow river that is widely used by local fishermen and in the area around the villa you can see much beautiful wildlife such as Peacocks, Pheasants, Cranes, Rabbits and Hares. Why not catch your own fish and cook it on the BBQ?

You are ideally situated to visit the entire Veneto region from the Villa, including the beautiful historic town of Treviso, the home of Benetton, with wonderful shops and restaurants (30 mins drive), Verona (made famous by Romeo & Juliet - 1 hr drive), Padova, Vicenza, Bassano Del Grappa, Cortina Ski resort, Montebelluno or even take a day trip to Lake Garda and see Gardaland with the kids. In the beach resort area of Lido Di Jesolo you will also find the biggest water theme Park in Europe for the kids to enjoy - Aqualandia and the Jolly Roger pirate ship which offers a fun day out for families or a dinner cruise for adults. Lido di Jesolo is alive with nightlife, restaurants, clubs and street parties.

*N.B. The Intercity train Venice to San Dona Di Piave takes 20 mins as it makes no stops but if you catch a regional train which makes stops at towns on the way, the journey can take 30 mins.

We have hosted many weddings and events at the villa too. Enquire for details.

About Thomas

I worked in hospitality in Venice for over 20 years in leading luxury hotels.

Thomas purchased this villa in 2008

Why Thomas chose Treviso

It is in an idyllic location. It is spacious and luxurious with grand rooms and high ceilings. The beautiful terrace is a sun trap all day long. It' also so close to one of the most breath taking cities in the world - Venice.

What makes this villa unique

Luxury and home comforts unlike any other self catering property you will find in Italy. Immersed in the heart of the Veneto wine region while being in striking distance of one of the most glamorous and romantic cities in the world. There is so much more than just Venice to see from this beautiful Villa. Our guests are always blown away and many return for more.

Beautiful Villa with Room to Roam

  • 5 of 5

Nine of us truly enjoyed our stay and the yard around the place is absolutely beautiful. We strongly recommend utilizing the chef for at least one meal and also enjoyed area restaurants. Proximity to Venice was perfect and getting in and out was no problem. We will return.

Family Villa

  • 4 of 5

The Villa in Cessalto is a little far for daily treks into Venice but great for visiting the Veneto countryside. The place was clean but the kitchen was a tiny bit small for a place that sleeps over 10 people. The villa is great for outdoor relaxation but I would double check when the walnut harvesting season is because the machinery operated by the neighbor is quite loud.

Owner's Response: Regarding the proximity of the Villa to Venice which is clearly advertised as 30 minutes by train or car, I would say that while most people staying at the Villa do so to visit Venice a few times during their stay, they book this place to see the enormous number of other attractions in the Veneto area in addition to the beautiful city of Venice, for which we are very strategically placed. 30 minutes travel from one of the world's major Cities is not a big commute and we personally visit Venice a lot when staying but find much better quality and certainly much higher quality restaurants around the Villa away from the commercial tourist trap of Venice. We are set amongst the finest Veneto vineyards and there is a neighbouring walnut farm. Obviously harvest time in any agricultural area is going to be a hive of activity compared to normal. This only happens for 2 weeks each year though usually in October. As regards the kitchen. It is set within a living / dining area totalling 50 M Sq so big by any standards. We've had professional chefs use it to feed 16 people with no difficulties but Italian kitchens are rarely what American guests may be used to at home.

Villa near Venice

  • 3 of 5

The word "villa" implies a property with large grounds and many amenities. This place is a large home with a normal-sized yard adjacent to an orchard. The sleeping arrangements were nice; it accommodated 14 of us comfortably and the beds were sound. Three bedrooms did share a bathroom, which was a little challenging, but the other bedrooms had their own bathrooms. By far the biggest challenge with the house was the kitchen, which is very small (really one person comfortably at a time in it) and nowhere near the kind needed to prepare meals for 14 people. Unless you plan to eat out for your lunches and dinners, this place may not be for you. The owners were not great about getting back to us about directions until the last minute, and the "concierge" for the property is the next-door neighbor who, while very nice, speaks no English and was usually wanting to get back to her own house without much delay. Overall, it was a nice place with good amenities except for the kitchen.

Owner's Response: There is clearly a different meaning for the word Villa in some parts of America v's our understanding of the term in Europe, where a private villa with or without a pool can refer to anything from 2 bedrooms up to the scale of our very substantial 7 bedroom property. Naturally like all homes on VRBO it is a private home rented as a self catering property. It is not advertised as a Hotel with all bedrooms ensuite and a 'concierge'. To have 4 bedrooms en-suite and a further shared bathroom in a 7 bedroom property is more than one would find in most private homes. At the beginning of the review a complaint is made regarding the amenities yet confusingly at the end he reports that it has good amenities??? Now even I'm confused! As regards the kitchen. The room in which it is located is 30 metres squared!!! It has a brand new oven & hob, a new fridge and dishwasher and has regularly facilitated professional chefs who have cooked meals for 14-16 people as have we and many other guests without difficulty or complaint. Sorry but you are obviously not used to European kitchens! 3000 sq metres in Europe is also a substantial size of garden. I am not sure what this guest would have wished to do with even more land than that on offer which he also notes is embraced on 3 sides by a substantial walnut farm. Regarding directions to the property. The person reviewing this stay was not the primary renter but rather one of the party. The primary renter was emailed full information and directions in advance of their arrival and advised that we (English speaking owners) were on call as and if required. Our big hearted neighbour always goes above and beyond the call of duty to help our guests and calls us on her phone to communicate in English as required but quite honestly even though she doesn't speak much English she usually manages to make herself understood be it through hand gestures or facial expressions. Until this guest we have had nothing but praise for her and really why go to a foreign country and expect everybody to only speak English? I just don't get that personally. As you will see this is the only non 5 star review we have ever received. I would encourage you to read more into the 5 star reviews of the majority of the guests who have stayed at the property rather than that of one obviously very difficult to satisfy individual who expects Europe to be exactly like at home in America. That is not an issue for which we can provide any solution.

Family vacation for 14 people

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful three week family vacation. There was plenty of room for all 14 members of the family. The villa, grounds and amenities are exactly as described. The price was very reasonable. It is an easy trip to Venice by train. But there are lots of other interesting places to see. Members of our party went to many attractions including Verona, Padua, Trieste, Vicenza, Eraclea beach, Caorle Beach. It is an easy trip to the Dolomites and members of our party went hiking and climbing in Cortina. We also visited charming small towns including Oderzo, Castle Franco, Portoguardo and many more. The small towns all have farmers markets and you can easily go to a market every day. There are excellent restaurants outside the cities and towns that are well worth visiting. We went to several wineries both large and small. The wineries were very hospitable and gave us extensive tours and wine tasting. An extra bonus was the friendly advice we received from the owner Sherril. She suggested restaurants, wines, cities to visit and a catering for a dinner we had at the Villa. The 12 bottles of local wines that Sherril left for us were much appreciated. Be aware though that Cessallto is an extremely small town with very little to do and is a longish walk from the Villa. A car is essential.

Owner's Response: Thanks Len we do always emphasise that a car is essential in our property details. The large local town / small city of San Dona di Piave has plenty going on and is less than a 5 minute drive away. The local small village has all the essentials of a supermarket, bakery, 2 banks, bar/gelataria, post office, a decent pizzeria restaurant/Da Bepe, fruit & vegetable shop etc. it also has a market every Friday.

Ostern an der Adria

  • 5 of 5

Owner's Response: Just to clarify that the incidental cost of €58 per gas bottle only applies in winter months when the central heating is needed. Otherwise during the warmer weather and summer months you would not have to pay that cost.
