Guestbook comments from the owner

First time in bend. What a great town! Checked out a good number of breweries. met our daughter and her boyfriend for the weekend. We enjoyed your house immensely. We played Scrabble and watched "Blair Thumb". The hot tub was relaxing too. We rolled around on the bikes too! Great location. Thoughtful amenities! Highly recommend this gem of a rental. Would stay here again if possible.

Adorable and Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented this cottage for a minimoon after our wedding. We brought our dog with us and were so happy they allowed pets. The cottage was everything I expected based on the photos and description, no disappointments at all. The inside is spacious, clean and cozy. Favorite features were: Master bath huge walk in shower with dual shower heads, master bath wall heater, living room gas fireplace and the backyard with lots of seating options and hot tub! The location cannot be beat, its just a 10 min walk to downtown, the river and hiking trails. Short 10 min or so drive to other hot spots in Bend. Many of the breweries are walking distance or short drive also. We found a favorite breakfast/coffee/cocktail spot walking distance called Bad Wolf Cafe - excellent food, cold brew coffee on nitro tap, and home infused vodkas for a killer bloody as well as 6 mimosa offerings.

House was fantastic had everything you could need! Location awesome!

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect! It had everything we needed for a long weekend away. The common space living area and kitchen were great. The hot tub at the end of the day was awesome. The location was super close to down town bend and an Uber ride was only $6-$10 we stayed during a snowy weekend but if it wasn’t cold and snowy it would have been an easy walk to down town and the park near by. 2 couples stayed at this place and it was more than enough room for all of us. Highly recommend this rental.

Perfect Bend Vacation Rental

  • 5 of 5

This gem has great floor plan with a roomy kitchen, new appliances, a spacious master bedroom with a walk-in closet and a huge master bathroom. We really like the fenced in yard for our puppy. We used the hot tub all three nights! WiFi performed great so we could use our Roku device to watch Netflix.

The location is just perfect! Walking distance to downtown (which means lots of food options), the Deschutes River hiking trail and Drake Park (Mirror Pond). Great access to Century Drive / Cascade Lakes Highway. We visited various hiking trails on the way to Mt. Bachelor. Crux Brewery was a nice end to a day on the mountain.

Owner's Response: You all have found some of our greatest treasures and it sounds like a really fun trip! Our bikes go out in early Spring at our cottages, and that's a great way to explore too. Come back and do the other 23 breweries too, Phils Trails for biking, the High Desert Museum, float the river on inner tubes, golf at one of the 24 courses, kayak in one of our 50 lakes, fish the river, hit a festival, and then take an afternoon nap outside on a deck chair. There's so much to see and do and we'd love to have you with us again when you return to seek wonderful Bend-FUN! Thanks again ---- we love, that you love, the River Run!!

Nice house and location. Perfect for our family of 4.

  • 5 of 5

We had a very nice stay at the River Run over the New Year with our family of four and two dogs for eight nights. We visit Bend yearly in both the Summer and Winter and are particular about the houses we rent. The street is quiet and the neighbors friendly. We had several conversations with neighbors as we walked our dogs.

Big bonus is off-street parking, which isn't always available on the west side. We only had one vehicle, but there is space for two. The fenced backyard was well put together with a small deck, covered hot tub (we used several times), and a side yard suitable to for storing bulkier gear (like bikes in the summer). Having the washer and drier in the clean basement (and not taking up space in main floor of the house) was also nice. The basement was also a good spot to store some of our bulkier stuff.

The location to downtown was an easy walk. Slightly longer, but not much, to the restaurants and market on Newport. Galveston is also walkable and certainly a quick bike ride in the Summer.

Inside the house we found it nicely appointed, clean and without clutter. Nice to have the extra sitting area in the kitchen. We tend to cook about 50% of our meals and had everything we needed in terms of pots/pans, accessories and utensils. A stash of tea bags, a jar of fresh coffee beans, and a grinder was a nice bonus. Range is top notch and the fridge was plenty big. In other houses, we've had to rearrange pots and pans to find room to store food, but at River Run there is plenty of space.

The bathrooms are spacious and have room for toiletries. Master bath is quite large with a double shower and a separate heater, which was nice for the cold of the winter. The bedrooms had plenty of closet space and room for all the extra winter clothes.

Overall a great place and highly recommended.

Clean, warm, cozy home. Great accommodations

  • 5 of 5

The home was well-equipped- from hot tub supplies to kitchen - with a beautiful big shower, comfortable beds, and close driving distance to restaurants and skiing. Would definitely stay again. Only negative is squeaky floors, but with old hardwood, I wouldn’t expect different.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for letting us know you enjoyed your stay at the River Run. She is indeed a great old dame ---beautiful craftsman home, with such personality. Her wonderful location so close to both the river and the historic downtown really make her a gem. Come back in the warmer weather and enjoy her fun bikes to explore with...almost as much fun as skiing! Happy New Year to you and yours! Lisa

Charming home and great location

  • 4 of 5

This home was perfect for a long weekend with my husband and folks. Two bedrooms with comfy beds and two big bathrooms, lovely living space with fireplace and big, well equipped kitchen. I would definitely book again. My only suggestions would be to make sure the oven is cleaned regularly as it was quite dirty and some of the dishes need replacing as they are significantly chipped. The living room floor was also insanely squeaky but not sure what can be done about that. Overall LOVED this place. It was within walking distance to almost everything. I'd stay here at any time during the year but it was especially lovely in the fall.

Owner's Response: So glad that your family loved the River Run---she has a personality of her own and we love her craftsman charm and great location too. Fall in Bend is a personal favorite time of mine as well---the beautiful colors, great discounts, slower pace, and relaxing vibe --- Glad your family had fun! The River Run stays fully booked much of the year, so we are always happy to have true off-season start in November, giving us more time to have fun shopping for new goodies for the house. We have ordered a nice new set of dishes for the kitchen to help modernize the feel, and are deep cleaning all our ovens before the holidays so they are sparkling fresh and shining for the feast prep. Sorry... nothing we can do about some creaks in the original awesome wood floors. I always think of the River Run as a fine old dame with a great personality dancing with creaky knees. Makes me smile. Thanks again and hope to see you in Bend again real soon!
