Interaction with Guests
- Friendly hosts who want to make sure you enjoy your stay, and are happy to provide tips!
We love interacting with our guests, but also greatly respect their privacy. We live just a few blocks away from the space, and are happy to help with any questions you may have. We've lived in the city for over 25 years and are happy to give suggestions on local secrets. My father is also happy to lead some free hikes around the neighborhood if requested in advance!
The Sunset is a safe and relaxing neighborhood just outside the San Francisco downtown. There are many great restaurants nearby, easy access to many SF hotspots via public transportation, and proximity to Ocean Beach and the SF Zoo. It is a pleasant area where you can enjoy ocean views and sunsets on a sunny day.
There are 3 main bus lines within a couple of blocks of the space, including a main MUNI line that goes to the heart of downtown in 25 minutes. This L line can be boarded on Taraval St. (2 blocks north), departing every 10 minutes, and making its last trip back at 1:30am.
Another helpful bus line is the 29, which can be boarded on Sunset Ave. (1 block east), and goes to Golden Gate Park, as well as close to the Golden Gate Bridge.
San Francisco also has a number of 'private' taxi services which are cheaper than city cabs. Companies like Uber, Lyft, and Sidecar, give great service and quick, discounted rides.
I would be happy to share free-ride vouchers with you!
Other Things to Note
Come stay with us and enjoy the real San Francisco!
Hi, my name is Felix Remennik, and I grew up in San Francisco, California. I work at Google helping small businesses grow with advertising solutions, and I love my job. In my free time, I enjoy playing sports, writing and listening to music, and doing anything outdoors, especially hiking and camping.
Enjoy our spacious home in a quiet neighborhood close to public transit. Lounge in the large living area, cook in the full kitchen, enjoy sleeping on the new beds, & free parking. Close to the beach and parks. Let us show you the real San Francisco!
Very nice stay in this ground floor unit with a backyard. Big enough for a family of 4, and well stocked with amenities. Owner says they recently put in carpeting and insulation from the upstairs unit, which seems to have helped as we didn't have any issues with noise.
Stains on the carpet, what looked like blood stains on the bedspread (very small, but enough to gross out my teenage daughter), torn up screen on the bathroom window, blinds that didn't work on the sliding glass door. Musty odor. And, yes, the neighbors upstairs were very noisy, and their kids looked in our bathroom window and door into the bedroom.
We saved a few bucks as compared to a hotel room, but had little space anyway, and wished we got the clean, quiet hotel instead.
We were visiting with our kids, and it was great to have a place close to the park and the SF Zoo. Felix was very helpful in sharing some local tips, and there are a few great restaurants in the area.
We stayed here just two weeks ago and were very happy with everything. The owners, Felix and Jacob, are extremely friendly and go above and beyond to make sure that your stay is a pleasant one. Jacob even recommended a few local food spots which was very nice of him. The property is located in a safe neighborhood and is close to everything you need (beach and food) and far away from everything you don't need (noise and traffic). I ran every morning during my stay and can tell you that the beach is just a quick several blocks down. Java Beach Cafe has a lot of great choices and is just down a few blocks from the house on La Playa. Besides being so close to many things, having a washer and dryer on site is a huge plus. And now let me tell you about the backyard. If you are a fellow yogi or just one who finds inner peace a high priority, this backyard is open for you to find that. Every morning you will find peace, serenity, and the chirps of birds as you step out. So don't forget to bring a mat! Otherwise, make yourself a coffee and just relax on the rocking chair that calls you. My 4 nights there summed up: Best. Stay. Ever. Thank you Felix and thank you Jacob for having us! :)
My wife and i use VRBO quite often and have found that on the whole , it is a great way to replace hotel / motel stays ( especially with a pet ). Our stay in Felix's place was quite the opposite .. even tho It was in a quiet neighborhood , this place was anything but ,the off street street parking and close proximity to a grocery store were nice , however , the noise from the upstairs rental was overbearing ----the footsteps from upstairs late into the nite ( no insulation ) , water pressure in the shower did not excist , and the noise in general made for a not so pleasant stay---i would not recommend this property if you are looking for a quiet getaway
