Award-winning landmark conversion of an old stable, retaining many of the original carriage-house elements: peculiar row of high windows for horses' heads, open-beamed ceiling, stable doors to the street, original exterior bricks repurposed to the interior, a 13' central table milled from one of the stable's original beams. An open, chapel-like, entirely private, 2400 sq ft home. Modern, but very cosy. Extremely rare space within New York City. One-of-a-kind.
Available for 30 day rental, or other short-term purposes: shoots, off-sites, small events.

Bell End is a special home, but we must stress, it's a home, not a party space. Staying with us affords a unique opportunity to enjoy everything New York has to offer and have a beautiful, luxurious, well-kept sanctuary to come back to. You won't be dealing with wardrobes full of shoes and family knick-knacks (which are in our house upstate). You'll feel as if you're living in New York. As a consequence, we ask that people let us know their plans in a sentence or two. Just the basic reassurance needed when you're letting somebody into your home. The word 'party' has occasionally been misinterpreted, and we have ourselves, our friends and neighbours to think about too.
In order to comply with New York City law, the house rents for a minimum of 30 days.

Julian Richards purchased this house in 2010
It's an absolute one of a kind.
This has been a perfect experience, I can truly recommend this house for bigger families and groups. It is spacious, everything is exactly ad described, nice and clean bedrooms and a wonderful open kitchen/studio-situation on the ground floor. 3 bathrooms make the mornings absolute relaxing and the location is wonderful - right in the middle of clinton hills, surrounded by bars, cafes, restaurants and all shopping-facilities you could neet. Very nice and easy hosts. We will return!
Property was just as described, with lots of light and space to move.
We were able to get ready for our wedding in style and without being cramped in a small hotel room.
The owners were prompt replying to questions and gave detailed instructions about the property.
Hope I can go back again!

This is one of the nicest homes I have ever stayed in. The Bell End is a truly special place - spacious, lots of light, a beautiful rustic feel but with the comfort of modern appliances and equipment. We stayed in the winter and really appreciated the heated floors! Julian was very helpful and responsive to my emails. His recommendations of things to do in the area were spot-on. Getting into the place was very easy, as was checking out. The house is very accessible by subway, with the A, C and G trains only a couple of blocks away. I would love to stay here again!
