Elegant Country Home that belonged to the same family since it was built in the 1920s. This is no cookie cutter! Large group capacity. It sits on 3 acres of land with a big deck and privacy. The house has hardwood floors throughout. The Large EIK kitchen is totally remodeled and has a dishwasher. The kitchen table sits 12. It's open to the
dining room with another large table that sits 14. Beside the diningroom is our game room with a brand new fussball table. There are two livingrooms as well. One has a beautiful built in book case. There are two Flat Screen TVS one in each livingroom. There is a front porch and a back deck with plenty of space to play. For the Summertime we have our new in ground pool with 6 ft privacy fence. Walk to the Hunter and even Tannersville to the Restaurants and nightlife. Trailways bus stop is just down the road under 1/2 mile. You don't even need a car!
I love this part of the Catskills! I was born and raised in the Mountains of Greece in a landscape that was similar to this and in my soul the mountains sing.
Vasili Stertsios purchased this farmhouse in 2014
There is lots of love and good care that went into house. The location could not be better for outdoor recreation.
Peace and tranquility if you seek it yet only minutes to some crazy fun down Hunter Mtn skiing in the Winter and Ziplining in the Summer.
My group had some very different opinions about the house - some loved it, some not so much. The property is great with a nice large backyard and it's just off the main road between the centers of Hunter and Tannersville. The house is large - three bedrooms on the third floor with a bathroom with shower, four on the second floor with a double bathroom (two sinks, two toilets, one shower, one bathtub in separate rooms). It was a very good size for our group. The (unheated) pool is also a nice size and fenced in.
Other comments ... washer/dryer were great, kitchen was great with good appliance and two refrigerators (very clean), and air conditioning units in every room. There's a large library of books (probably left from the previous owner), and the satellite TV was good. The new grill was excellent.
Now for the 'not so good' - I'll preface by saying I've been spoiled by a series of prior house rentals on websites like this where the homes were immaculate. This one was lacking in that area, which would be fine except for the price. It was more like summer camp - e.g. the showers were in various states of being functional and the bathtub tilts depending where you stand in it. The house is kind of tilted making foosball (the only table game in the game room, which was missing a handle or two) kind of interesting.
Then there were the "little issues". There isn't a garbage can or towel rack to be found. We had do a lot of cleaning ourselves - there was broken glass in the pool from a beer bottle and other beer bottles and garbage near the edge of the property including some pipes and an old fire escape. There's a bear problem and the trashcans weren't bear proof, so our trash had to be kept indoors (the property manager did come and clean the outside garbage). Then there was the dining room table which we needed to extend - only it was very difficult to do so because it was stuck together by dried maple syrup and then we had to clean it up once we did get it open. One of the mattresses was supported by cardboard. The internet barely worked - it's an old DSL router but may be all that's available there. We ended up setting up our own wireless hotspot with a cellular connection which worked beautifully.
If you're looking for a 7 bedroom house with pool in the Hunter/Tannersville area, it does the job beautifully. The house was good, but a few thousand dollars of work put into this house would go a long way.
This house was so beautiful and the pictures don't even do it justice. It's even bigger in person. The game room, the pool, the huge backyard and the tvs kept everyone entertained and it was in such a nice place.
We were really impressed with the house. Great size, nice deck, nice pool and beautiful backyard. The house is well appointed and the private location is perfect. Vasili, the owner, is responsive and a pleasure to work with! We would rent again :)
This house is absolutely perfect for a large group. Myself and 20 friends came for the weekend and had more than enough room for both sleeping and enjoying each others company in the living and dining areas. I would absolutely come back again! Only a few minutes from town and the mountain which made every thing easier as well. Highly recommend!
This house was perfect! Beautiful inside and great yard space! It was a very comfortable stay for me and 23 other friends! The house was very spacious with beautiful furnishings. Five stars from my friends and I for an awesome stay!
Was just thinking about how wonderful our ski trip was in January, and wanted to write a review. This house was absolutely perfect for what we were looking for. We had a family get together with all of our cousins and this house allowed us to be together in the same place, yet have enough space to be on our own. Everything seemed relatively new, very clean and well taken care of. We will definitely be using this house again. PERFECT HOUSE!
