I love the warmth and slow pace of St. Lucia and the very friendly people.
Mary purchased this apartment in 2006
I fell in love with St. Lucia on my first visit 25 years ago. It is a jewel in the Caribbean resembling the South Pacific. The St. Lucians are very friendly and English is the official language with French widely spoken. Marigot Bay is the most stunning bay on the island, if not the Caribbean. I love the location of the property by the water on the calm west side, and the benefit of being part of a resort community.
I enjoy Marigot Bay for the beautiful sunsets, warmth, swimming and snorkeling in the calm Caribbean sea and hiking.
This is a top notch villa and a great location. Marigot Bay is much sleepier than Rodney Bay area, with a lot of great bars and restaurants tucked into the hillside around the bay, which are easy to get to. If you are not a fan of the isolation of all inclusive, and really want to get a bit of diversity of experiences, this is a great choice.
Large, very will kept villa, good kitchen, nice little slice of the bay view from the main balcony, and our own plunge pool, made this an outstanding choice!
The hotel recently renovated the pools and the restaurant areas, so everything is top notch and the staff was so warm and friendly,
We stayed for a week with our kids ages 3, 6 and 8. This condo was perfect for our family. There was lots of space for eating and sleeping and relaxing. We were glad to have the foldout bed in the family room. Only complaint is the kitchen could use a few more items for cooking- spatula, cooking spoons maybe a toaster. The resort is gorgeous. We loved the pool and walking in the marina. Getting icecream at night and looking at boats was a favorite of the kids. The staff was extremely friendly and kind to our children...always ensuring we were having a great stay. We were glad we rented a car to be able to explore the island. Marigot bay is a great location to be able to visit both the north and south parts of the west coast. We loved going up hike and visit the beach at pigeon island. Also enjoyed hiking at diamond falls in the south. Every afternoon we returned to Capella and swam in the pool and enjoyed a cocktail at the swim up bar. Then the family would enjoy a quick dip in the private hot tub. What a week!
My family of 4 spent 5 days at this property over Christmas break. The accommodations are fantastic, clean, spacious, new and beautiful. It has everything you need and more! We had the two bedroom one. If I want to be picky the only things the kitchen lack was a good frying pan and a pasta colander, everything else was there.
The resort this property is in has just been renovated and it is pristine. The hotel employes are very sweet, accommodating and seemed happy to be working there. We had an issue with the jacuzzi and they worked on it until it got fixed. We had cookies waiting for us in our room the first day and a cold glass of island ice tea. Fantastic! We have traveled everywhere in the Caribbean and this property was fantastic. The road that leads to the property is another story…we drove ourselves from the airport 1h 1/2 and we almost missed the turn onto the road to the resort because we couldn't imagine that road led anywhere. It is steep, full of holes and speed bumps. Getting in and out of the resort was an adventure every time.
My only complain is the beach you have free access to from a Ferry from the hotel. The beach is tiny, crowded and very dirty. We went there the first day after we arrived and never came back. My kids tried to snorkle and came out of the water quickly after they saw trash and some sort of mats under water.
The Marina is beautiful and the atmosphere is serene and relaxing in the hotel area.
My advice is to explore other beaches in the area either on a water taxi or a 4 wheel drive. I stress the 4 wheel drive because the roads are the worst/most dangerous roads I have experienced. It took us almost 2 hours to get to Anse Mamin, one of the prettiest/quietest beaches in Saint Lucia and decided to take a water taxi the next time we went.
We stayed at the hotel in March. It was a beautiful hotel with a great pool and nice setting on the bay. The hotel was undergoing renovations and I would love to come back when they are done because I'm sure it will be beautiful. We will be back!
We have stayed in many places around the world but this property in this location is hard to beat. The island of course is a jewel in the sunny Caribbean. Marigot bay is a delightful bay on the delightful West Coast with a great selection of restaurants and leisure activities.
As far as the accommodation is concerned we had the 2-bed apartment which is simply as luxurious and as spacious as almost anywhere with a lounge / kitchen area too. The maid service is thorough and friendly and the fittings are of the highest quality.
The resort itself is spacious and set around a beautiful pool.
I thoroughly recommend this place !
This is your chance to stay at a true luxury resort hotel for a fraction of the price! The condo is actually part of a hotel and you are treated the same as hotel guests and have access to all amenities! Condo is beautifully furnished and supplied with everything you need from beach towels to pots and pans. House keeping is excellent providing daily cleaning and turn down service. Location on property is very convenient, overlooking main pool (somewhat obstructed by foliage) and short walk to lobby, restaurant and bar. Food is excellent and staff friendly and helpful.
The Marigot Bay area is truly beautiful and very peaceful but offers several quality restaurants, a grocery store and a few small shops. The sailboats and yachts docked at the marina are something to see! To access the beach you take a small ferry just across the bay (free of charge) where chairs are available (also free, although some entrepreneurial locals will try to charge you).
My wife and I had our 4 y/o daughter with us which was not a problem as there were several other children she met and we even were invited aboard a beautiful yacht for a cruise up to Rodney Bay and Pigeon Island by her new friends' grandparents. Even though there were more kids than I expected it is still a very quiet, relaxing and rejuvenating resort. Leaving was not easy and we definitely would go back in a second and hope to do so.
Mary, the owner was also terrific to deal with, she provided valuable information and tips for our arrival, stay and departure. Her communication was excellent and very prompt. Thanks again Mary for a wonderful vacation!
