We spent the long weekend here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We spent the days skiing in Silveratar and our evenings in front of the log fire. Perfect family cabin in a beautiful location. The beds were clean and comfortable and we all felt at home. We would defiantly chose to stay here again.
Was a great stay enjoyed the quiet surroundings and will book it again.
Mary Ellen was great to deal with
Ellen was an excellent communicator and very helpful in making our stay at the cottage extra special. Thank you for setting out the hummingbird feeders. The cottage itself is huge, charmingly rustic and located not far out of Vernon but far enough to be quiet and peaceful. Would like to have stayed longer just so that we could have a few days just hanging out on the property.
Beds comfortable, house clean , good kitchen and BBQ facilities, outdoor seats. I recommend it.
What a great way to get away from it all! This comfortable, homey "cabin/house" was just what the two of us needed to recover from a big family reunion, and celebrate our anniversary! There are two bedrooms in this house, but room for many more people. The master bedroom has a queen plus two single beds, and plenty of room. There is an adjacent bathroom with soaker jetted tub, and enough room for the whole family! (not in the tub though!). Upstairs in the loft is a double bed, and I think a single too, plus a bathroom with a shower. There is also a little sitting area on a balcony overlooking the open beam livingroom. This place, I was told is about 20 years old, but made me feel like I had taken a trip down memory lane. I'm not sure what you call the logs that are shaved on two sides and then tongue and grooved together, but the walls are this kind of logs, and the warm feeling they portray is very lovely. There is a lounging "bed" (for another sleeper, if necessary) in the living room, plus regular furniture. I loved the old upright grand piano, which I have at home, and play, and the ambiance of the fireplace and the screened front porch. Everything is spacious and comfortable and well maintained. The deck was a lovely private area to relax on with no neighbours anywhere around. We ate most of our meals out there with chirping of birds off in the near distance. Most delightful. We had just come from a lakeview place in Penticton, so this was the opposite of that, yet just what the doctor ordered. Private and peaceful. If you have children, there is furniture for them and toys, and they would love the layout of house alot. We so enjoyed ourselves! It was 5-10 min to Kalamalka beach and to Vernon. Not in the middle of things, but not far either. We enjoyed biking the back roads around this place. Beautiful farmland, and some doozy hills, if you choose. We did, and the view up there was well worth it! Thank you so much Mary Ellen and Bill for sharing your house and area with us and so many!
Two of our adult sons, my husband and myself enjoyed our week long stay at this authentic log cabin. For our needs it was the perfect size and we loved the acres of unmarred nature right outside the back deck!
Close to everywhere we wanted to go yet far enough away to revel in quiet. We would certainly recommend this lovely cottage to anyone interested in a memorable get away.
This home comes well equipped. The location is rural, yet very close to Vernon and the beach. This is our second stay there (which we have not done with other homes we have stayed at), so that tells you something.
