Condo-House, 1 Bedroom , 1 Bathroom, (Sleeps 2)
- english, german, spanish
We are both in our 50ties. Javier is Mexican and is architect. I’m (Andreas) born in Germany living 20 years in Mexico. I studied business law and journalism. So I open my own press and promotion agency on the side. I had my own columns in different newspapers and magazines. The promotion for hotel chains broth me also to Mexico. Playa Del Carmen was at that time a little fishermen’s village and here I dripped in to Javier. So we build our first hotel in Playa del Carmen (Hotel Aventura Mexicana) and opened 3 restaurants. My partner and I sold in 2006 and we were looking around for a change. So when we came to Puerto Vallarta, we said: Yes welcome to the real Mexico with culture and very friendly, open minded locals and a great scene. So we moved with our 2 dogs to Puerto Vallarta. We love it here and made in a short time a lot of friends.
Andreas purchased this Condo in 2011
Why Andreas chose Benito Juárez
Puerto Vallarta has a charming small-town feel, cosmopolitan lifestyle, privileged climate. Just over the River Cuale bridge, and only a few blocks from the Malecon, this part of town has a unique charm and character of its own. With a colorful blend of the old and the new, Puerto Vallarta offers an unrivaled combination of simple pleasures and sophisticated charms. Fine dining restaurants, art galleries, upscale shopping centers, internet cafes and nightclubs peacefully coexist alongside taco stands, street-side vendors selling Mexican handcrafts, traditional open air markets and strolling mariachi bands. The people are very friendly and open minded and here are a lot of opportunities for people with a different lifestyle. Gay bars and clubs are close by and also the famous beaches 'Playa Del Los Muertos' what is a meeting point for people all over the world. Nobody has to be in a closet, in Puerto Vallarta you are free to enjoy yourself and make new friends.
What makes this Condo unique
You have your privacy, private large pool and sun deck with grill. Shopping, beaches, clubs and bars nearby and for sure we are open minded and gay friendly. Very close to all gay bars. Cool off in the private swimming pool, soak up the sun, relax on the double-size lounge under the shade arbor, read a book in the hammock, or view a fantastic sunset and the evening fireworks. The dining table at the sun deck can accommodate up to 6 people all these, covered patio with sitting area, a Grill and on the sun deck. THE SUN DECK AND THE POOL IS PRIVATE AND WILL BE JUST BY YOU.

5 Days in Puerto Vallarta
Great location, perfect space for one person. Stairs can be daunting, easy check in and communication, having my own pool was killer. Would definitely recommend
Beautiful & Private Outdoor living, dining and BBQ area, a short walk from city services.
If you enjoy having your own space, pool and privacy, then this may be for you. This beautiful outdoor living space is located up a steep hill, requiring good walking shoes. Going downhill is great; coming back can be challenging. Six to eight city blocks from restaurants and shopping. Convenient shop one block from your door. Great A/C; wish bedroom & WC were not down circular stair; living & kitchen area on same level as pool. Great value for amenities and location.
Luxurious Outdoor setting
This place is amazing, it is clean and well maintained. You have plenty of outdoor space including a larger private pool, and different areas for lounging in either the sun or the shade.
Yes there are stairs as others have mentioned, but worth it for the privacy and your own pool.
Andreas and Javier were incredibly efficient and easy to communicate with, we only met Javier and he was very friendly.
I would highly recommend staying here to friends or family!!

Everything we expected
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this condo. It was conveniently located and was a good central location for exploring old town and the Malecon. The outdoor space with its private pool was amazing with several seating options depending on whether you wanted sun or shade. Thank you to Javier who was easy to contact if we needed anything - even helping us with our luggage on arrival and departure.
Thanks a lot for you beautiful review. We are very happy that you enjoyed our penthouse.
It was a pleasure to had you as our guests and we are looking forward to welcoming you soon again in one of our properties. ( ocean front VRBO 449680, 458078, 630335)
All the Best!

Off the beaten path in Zona Romantica
My husband and I are in our 60s and I must say that the stairs to the front door were a challenge. By the end of the week we could walk up them without stopping! This may be the first vacation we have not gained weight!! The most outstanding feature of this property is it's lovely patio with pool. Nice shaded areas if you want out of the sun also. I enjoyed the little bed several days for an afternoon siesta. The room amenities are good, but this is not a cook's kitchen. I recommend you eat out. You do not want to carry groceries up those steps! You will awaken to roosters crowing and the sound of a community at work. My husband is a builder, so he was fascinated watching the construction on the high-rise a couple blocks away. Really enjoyed a dip in the pool every night before bed. If you want some exercise and to stay in "real" Puerto Vallarta, then I recommend this property. If you want to be on the beach and steps away from restaurants, then I recommend you look at the hotel zone.
Thanks for your review. Like the stairs was a challenge for you means you have not readed the discription for this condo, because there is written we don’t recommend this property to guests there are not in good health shape or handicapped. There is also written that the penthouse is at the 4th floor and no elevator. You alright stating it is a authentic Mexican neighborhood. The downtown is a American tourist geto and is called by the locals “Gringoland”, so people they stay in downtown have to deal with the traffic noise from buses and cars, with many construction noise, it is so rounded by many big constructions, the laud music from the restaurants and all night with the incredible laud music from the discos till 6 am. If a big town tourist stays there, he also can stay home. Also the condos in downtown cost 3 times more from what you paid and they don’t have a private big pool and sun deck witch a shadowy lounge area and sun beds in case they like to get some sun. Sorry, don’t feel offended, but like we live in the same house, we walking max. 10 minutes to the beach and 5 minutes (3 blocks) to the Main Street with all kind of restaurants. We think the kitchen is sufficient equipped, but for sure not if you want invite a lot of people, anyway the restaurants are very affordable and it is cheaper to it out than to go food shopping, you pay more and you have the work of dish washing.
You should be happy now, you don’t gain wait and now you a in a good shape, because of the stairs.
Maybe you should rent next time one of our beach properties VRBO # 449680, 458078 or our penthouse on the beach 630335, but for sure they cost much more, because of the location and size and they have an elevator.
Sorry for pushing you to exercise.
Andreas & JavierDear Andreas,
I am sorry that you took much of my review as a negative! It was not meant that way. We were fully aware of the stairs when we rented your condo and took it on as a challenge. Our health is good and we are from Colorado where we hike a lot.
We purposely choose to stay in Old Town rather than the Marina or the Hotel Zone so that we can experience a more authentic Puerto Vallarta. The big resorts have no personality and could be anywhere!
I can tell that I have offended you and that was not my intent. The price charged for your condo is more than reasonable and the patio/pool area make up for any inconvenience . Iwould definitely consider renting from you and Javier again.
Great private space
First a reality check. It is up a steep hill and there are stairs. And a rooster or two. You won’t be surrounded by gringos. If this turns you off read no further.
We stayed here on a whim when my wife said there was a private pool. “For that price, no way”, I said. But there was. And it was spectacular.
It was exactly as advertised. If you want a place with a great outdoor space with a local flair , this is for you. (My extremely limited Spanish was no barrier). The host(Javier) was gracious and accommodating.
Thanks a lot for for your nice revie. We appreciate your opinions about the penthouse a lot. You both are very kind and easy going guests.
It was a pleasure to had you as our guests. We hope to see you soon again.
We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year with Health, Happiness and Success.
Andreas & Javier
Close by are the best restaurants in town and the famous beach 'PLAYA DE LOS MUERTOS' and bar's perfect location for gay people
