Palm Vista Estate of Sonoma County

This gem is tucked away on one of the highest hilltops in the Santa Rosa foothills, surrounded by palms and overlooking stunning views of Sonoma County. If you have dreamed of paradise in Wine Country, here is your chance to make that dream come true. Prepare for breathtaking views, relaxation at its finest, and an unforgettable vacation.

Exterior

No winegrowing region in the world has come so far as quickly as Sonoma County has. California’s Wine Country offers some of the finest wines in one of the world’s most prized grape-growing areas. Discover this exclusive region and Palm Vista, one of its extraordinary gems, a 4,000-square-foot home and 850-square-foot guesthouse in the heart of Sonoma’s premium winegrowing region that makes Palm Vista a resort in paradise.

Palm Vista lies on a two-acre setting in the hills of Sonoma and borders Crane Creek Regional Park, offering wide-open spaces with glorious panoramic views. A gated entry and circular driveway take you through beautiful gardens, past a pond, and on to the sheltering with a broad, stone-tiled entryway. Beautiful double glass doors welcome you into the dynamic atmosphere of the home.

From the main residence just a few feet away, a bridge leads you to the 850-square-foot guesthouse,* which also has its own gated entry. The guest quarters offer stunning views of working ranches, overlooking the hills.

Palm Vista offers the ideal opportunity for you to immerse yourself into a Wine Country way of life. It offers something for everyone. Kids can enjoy a marvelous play structure on the north lawn. You can take a stroll from the house to enjoy an afternoon cocktail on the terrace. The scenic views and clean, clear air make it easy to relax in the luxury of outdoor lounges and release stress. When the sun is bright, the infinity pool will lure everyone in, and the outdoor kitchen will inspire the cook in you. And as the day wanes, dip into the whirlpool spa as the skies shift from vivid blue to a magnificent orange sunset.

Interior

Palm Vista’s architectural design allows you to enjoy breathtaking views from each of its rooms. The 4,000-square-foot home was created for the enjoyment of indoor-outdoor living with a remarkable outdoor entertainment terrace at its heart.

The great room offers stylish furnishings, and a high coved ceiling is enhanced by windows that frame dramatic views and help create its powerful ambience. After swimming, the warmth of the fireplace draws people together in conversation.

Awaken the chef in you as you create the perfect meal to pair with your favorite wine. The kitchen has every amenity you could ask for. Skylights make the casual dining counter area bright and inviting during the day. For formal meals, a marble-tiled dining room seats ten under a spectacular custom glass chandelier.

The master suite is located at the far end of the south wing and is accessed through white double doors. Double glass doors open to the Palm Vista terrace. Enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep in the inviting king bed, relax in a spa-like atmosphere in a soothing bath and enjoy the view, or reenergize in the oversized shower with its circular glass brick wall.

Off of the living area is a graceful bedroom where large windows face the front grounds. The third bedroom—perfect for a young princess—presents a delightful fairy tale theme and a queen bed. The two bedrooms share a full bathroom with a shower over tub, granite vanity, and stone tile floors.

The junior master bedroom suite is located at the end of the north wing. The decor will transport you to the savannas of Africa while you relax on the fine linens of the queen-sized bed. The ensuite bathroom has a stone tile shower, a pedestal sink, a separate toilet, and a walk-in closet. Double glass doors from the bedroom open onto the terrace and pool, a popular place for an evening dip.

If the night is breezy, the outdoor heaters will ensure a pleasant atmosphere. The outdoor fire pit supplies satisfying warmth for an intimate gathering. Indoor and outdoor living is the essence of the Wine Country lifestyle, and Palm Vista has been designed to welcome you to this experience.

*Guest House

The guest house is just a short walk from the main home and offers all the amenities including central heat and air conditioning. Large windows in the living room offer a hillside view. The house also includes a compact kitchen, all the amenities needed to prepare a meal, and an intimate dining room. The bedroom features a comfortable queen bed and sliding glass doors to a small patio. The bathroom includes a stone-tile shower over tub, tile floors, and a closet that conceals a stacked washer and dryer.

We had 5 other couples this past week. The amenities, focus on details, and views into the valley were breathtaking.

beyond amazing

  • 5 of 5

Palm Vista Estate was a wonderful relaxing experience and I enjoyed every moment of it. I enjoyed having breakfast and dinner pool side because the views were amazing and almost unreal. Katie was a great host and was able to help with anything we needed or any questions we had. If I could give this rental 100 stars I would, thanks again for a great overall experience. -Zack

Mixed feelings

  • 2 of 5

We were with a group of nine people all adults

All from the netherlands

We rented a house a week before in Glenn Ellen and we thought because of the price the photos and excellent reviews this house would easily surpass the first house well that was not the case I looked a little bit closer to the reviews posted and now I saw that they are all the same nobody is specific about the house

The mother of Katie was there to welcome us

Very nice lade but she didn't speak English

And we no Spanish so communication was a little difficult but we managed

The hot tub broke down the day we arrived

But this was solved 5 days later I found out later this was not the first time (other review)

Katie the owner offered us a nice paella made by a chef as compensation

The hous looks very impressive as you arrive

A guest house with two bedrooms on the same property with one small bathroom to share not very close to the main house

A big pool with a magnificent view and a very big outdoor kitchen

From the photos the house looks beautiful

But it is dated and we think the build quality

Is low there is absolutely no soundproofing

The walls and the doors are paper-thin you cannot turn the TV in the sitting room on on a normal sound level without hearing it in every room you hear people talk in other bedrooms

In the morning if they drop a knife in the kitchenyou hear it everywhere

The kitchen is very well equipped

There is room for 12 people 8 in the main house

but 8!!!of them have to share bathroom and toilet

There are cctv camera even in the bedrooms

Katie ensured me they were turned off but in the house manual they say that they have 24/7 security?

There are three sunbeds at the swimming pool on the Foto you see a big extra bed that was not present this is not enough for this house

There are nearly only old fashioned cold light downlighters and no floorlamps not very Cosy

In many bedrooms there are no bedside tables and lights youhave to get out of your bed to put on the cold ceiling spots you can not read book without disturbing the other I bought booklights for everybody

The house is quite remote on a hill between working ranches but I think this has its charm

So did we have a good time?of course we had

But would I rent again

No there are in my opinion much better options Available

Owner's Response: Hi Evert, I want to apologize once again for the inconvenience of having issues with the pool/spa heater. We found out late Friday evening when all the pool companies including our go to company where already closed for the day. Our pool tech was there Saturday morning and diagnosed the issue but unfortunately all local stores for pool repair parts in the area where closed for the weekend. In order to avoid having this issue for the rest of your stay, which I acknowledge and feel horrible about. I decided to put in a new heater and offered free pool heating for the rest of your stay. We work hard to have the house always at 100% but unfortunately there are sittuations that arrize out of our control. All reviews are directly from previous guests and they state they had a great experience during their stay. My goal for all of our guests is to create an unforgettable experience at Palm Vista. I apologize that this wasn't the case for your stay. As you mentioned In your review about the paella dinner, I sent a chef to the property (at my expense) for you and your guests in an effort to make your stay a better one. I also included the 2 kegs you requested to be purchased as I wanted to do all I could for you. You mention that you had difficulty understanding my mom (I acknowledge she does have an accent) but, for the last 3 years she has been checking in all our guests and I've never received a complaint about her communication with our guest. I also had my property manager go the morning after you checked in to answer some questions you and your party had. I do wish you had mentioned this at the beginning of your stay and I would of gone myself to answer any questions or concerns. In regards to the bathroom issue we have a total of 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms in the main house. Not sure why you had to share one bathroom. As I mentioned on one of our calls all the cameras are disconnected but, I can see your concern and will make it my priority to remove the cameras from walls. Thank you for your candid review of your recent stay, your feedback is important to us as we strive to improve each and every stay. Best, Keiri Munoz Palm Vista, Owner

Even better than the pictures

  • 5 of 5

The house is amazing and the location simply beautiful - we really enjoyed our time and the sunsets over the hills. The house is just like on the pictures, maybe even more beautiful than the pictures. Everything was in great shape and we had absolutely no complaints.

THE BOMB! An amazing stay!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at Palm Vista and we loved our time there. We've rented homes across Sonoma and Napa and this is our favorite. Pictures cannot do justice to the outdoor area -- it is heaven to look out at the sun setting across the infinity pool, with a grand view of Sonoma Valley stretched out before you.

This property is huge! We loved playing family soccer in the massive front lawn. The house is decorated and laid out spectacularly. Our friends came from all over the country to join us, and they were all blown away by the house. This is wine country at its finest!

Katie was a great help and pointed out some awesome features of the house.

One complaint: I wish we could have stayed their longer... forever!

Cannot wait to stay at Palm Vista again in the future!
