My husband and I stayed for a few days at the cabin to get away from it all. We felt the place was a great way to lose track of time and just be together. The kitchen was well stocked and the whole place was very clean and homey. We will definitely be back!!
In need of a lot of TLC. Mold removal and mice removal. The roof leaks. Needs new grill one without a hole in the bottom.
We had a wonderful time in this secluded mountain cabin. It was very clean and had everything we needed to relax and unwind from the city and technology. It was so nice to be cell phone service free...our family focused more on each other and the next scrabble challenge instead of technology. Hiking was really close by...we spent our days hiking and nights fishing in the creek (not much luck with the fish though). We really enjoyed our time and would recommend to anyone looking for a rustic, relaxing, mountain retreat.
We had a relaxing week in this cabin, although the bed was to small for us and the sofa wasn't very comfortable either. The kitchen top needs to be replaced, as well as the furniture on the balcony. It would have been nice to sit outside with a cup of coffee on a nice comfortable chair. The caretaker was a sweet lady bringing us a hair dryer and more kitchen towels.
One information I feel should be given is that dogs are welcome. I like dogs but I'm allergic to animal hair, and there was hair on pillows as well as on the floor.
Otherwise, this cabin is a beauty.
Myself and three of my close friends decided to take on Old Rag Mountain this past Memorial Day Weekend. Upon our arrival to the cabin we were blown away by the immense beauty of nature that surrounded it. The cabin itself was spotless and included everything that was needed for our stay. We enjoyed multiple walks around the pond and surrounding areas as well as the lovely family room where we played many card games with countless hours of laughter. When us millennials needed to check in with our loved ones it was only a 10 minute drive down the road to service, but it was nice to unplug at the cabin itself. Jane was very flexible as we requested an earlier arrival time and she made it work. Very accommodating :) The futons and bed were all very comfortable, the kitchen was very well stocked with cooking supplies, and the bathroom was very nice as well. When we were out on the balcony we noticed a bunch of borer/carpenter bees digging into the roof of the cabin. Just wanted to call that to your attention as that could become an issue in the future. The inside of the cabin was surprisingly free of any creatures or bugs. In the mornings it was nice to enjoy a cup of coffee on the balcony while listening to the beautiful bird songs. Overall an amazing experience, and my friends and I have already planned on doing it again next year. Thank you Jane, Kevin, and Connie for making our stay amazing.
