About Jane or Kevin
Jane & Kevin live on the Gulf Coast but love the mountains. They have family in VA. They get up to the cabin as often as they can!
Jane or Kevin purchased this Cabin in 2001
Why Jane or Kevin chose Syria
Jane lived in MD for several years and loved to hike in the VA mountains. She moved down to the Gulf Coast in the 90's but the mountains kept calling. She found the cabin and fell in love. Over the years she made improvements to the cabin and has enjoyed sharing it with her guests.
Sports & Adventure Activities
Very relaxing place to vacation with family! Quiet and secluded with everything needed included.
It was a very relaxing get away. We spent time fishing, relaxing by the fire while making smores and just spending quality time together. The cabin was clean and well stocked with items needed. We can't wait to return! We had a great time!
Cute & secluded!
Unfortunately there was a huge windstorm that hit before we came and there was no power for our three-day stay. Jane was super helpful and apologetic. Made for a great honeymoon story!
We had a great time at the cabin and hiking Old Rag & Rose River. The cabin is conveniently located near both trail heads and was perfect for what we needed. Everything was available for our use. Will definitely stay there again in the future.
Lovely cabin in the woods
Really enjoyed our stay!
This is the second time I've stayed here, and I enjoyed it thoroughly both times. The location is gorgeous, especially in the fall. It's a nice distance from everything so you can retreat into the woods, but an easy drive to little local convenience stores and access to hiking trails. There is no cell reception or WiFi, which is very helpful in making sure I can't spoil my own vacation by reading and responding to work emails.
Great rustic cabin
Loved our stay in this secluded, rustic cabin. The location is beautiful, exactly what we wanted. Be sure to bring everything you need, even basics like toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, etc. The post said they were provided but they were not. The lack of privacy was an issue for us because our 2 year old goes to bed early and the bedrooms are not closed off. If I had been aware of the situation I probably wouldn't have booked this cabin, but overall I'm glad I did. If a few bugs, super rustic accommodations and no privacy isn't a big deal for you, this place is paradise! I recommend it :)
Thank you for the recommendation, I think? Actually we do provide all of the items mentioned. I apologize if there was not enough for this guest but if more is needed we can certainly bring it to you. The cabin has all needed appliances as well including microwave, coffee maker, and charcoal grill. The only thing our guests are asked to bring is food, charcoal and firewood for the outside firepit.
