Fantastic House, Great Location

  • 5 of 5

Myself & 4 other gals stayed here for 4 nights over the May Long Weekend. We ran in the Peach City 1/2 Marathon. It was an excellent location, very close to Skaha Lake Park. The owner, Anette, met us upon our arrival to give us a tour. She was very welcoming & even left us a bottle of local wine that we enjoyed after the race - nice touch - Thank You! The house had everything we needed & more. Kitchen is well stocked; spices, Saran Wrap, tin foil, plenty of dishes, coffee grinder, slow cooker etc. Plenty of linens, nice new washer & dryer. Outside space is great; lots of patio furniture. Everything was clean & well maintained. We did some wine touring in the area, had an excellent meal at the Hooded Merganser, fish tacos at Salty's Beach House. I would recommend to friends/family & would stay here again on my next trip to Penticton.

The yellow house is a wonderful place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

My sister, brother and I stayed at the yellow house in May 2016. This is the best vacation home we have stayed at! Annette, our hostess, is wonderful and very helpful. (thank you for your card and bottle of wine) This home is a three bedroom, has a wonderfully fully equipped kitchen, two patios (covered patio off the kitchen and the other off the master bedroom) with a large barbecue with extra propane. We thoroughly enjoyed our morning cup of coffee out on the patio and again in the evening. This is a very clean home with lots of towels, washer and dryer (with soap). Thank you for the wonderful stay. We'll be back.

I have no hesitation in recommending the yellow house in Penticton - the best!

The Best Our family of 4 adults and 2 small dogs stayed at the Yellow House from Sep 20 a Sep 24.

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 adults and 2 small dogs stayed at the Yellow House from Sep 20 a Sep 24. It is truly one of the most wonderful and comfortable vacation home we have ever stayed.

This 3 bedroom home and the fully equipped kitchen is tastefully decorated and spotless throughout with many thoughtful touches. There are two separate decks at the back of the home, one of which is covered and has a nice outdoor dining area, lounge love seat for 2 and 4 full length reclining lounge chairs. The large gourmet BBQ worked perfectly; our son made a delicious dinner of beer can Cornish hens which turned out golden brown and juicy.

Annette is a gracious hostess, we very much appreciated the card of welcome and a lovely bottle of local wine. We would recommend this home without hesitation, thanks again Annette.

Fantastic Spot

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and I used the Yellow House as a base of operations for a week's mountain biking in the Okanagan. Some friends joined us for 3 nights. This is an excellent place to stay. The house is large and well cared for. Nicely equipped (and large) kitchen made cooking meals easy - and I particularly enjoy it when staples such as spices, salt and pepper and sauces have been allowed to accumulate so you're not running off to the grocery for all the little things you've forgotten. There's even a large BBQ on the deck, and they made sure to supply extra propane. The bedrooms are nice, and there's lots of linens as well as towels etc for the bathrooms, as well as soap for the washer and dryer. In the kitchen they supply ample coffee filters, garbage bags, dishwasher detergent etc. - again, no need to be running to the store. The double garage has lots of space for vehicles or storage of equipment like bikes.

Particularly pleasant was the covered back deck (off the dining room). On the couple of mornings with some rain, it was nice to sit outside under cover with morning coffee, and it was always a pleasant place to sit during the day to watch the various types of birds congregate, and to listen to the crickets at night. The back yard is a graveled desert landscaping which made cleaning up after the dogs very easy.

The house is a little bit south of Penticton on Skaha Lake, so its a very short drive to get to shopping, downtown and the highway. A very pleasant surprise was the Skaha Bluffs Park just to the south. This is a climbing area, but was also a lovely spot to give the dogs their walks.

I look forward to getting back to explore the bike trails some more.

Great House

  • 5 of 5

The Yellow House was fantastic. When we arrived Annette came by to make sure everything was all right. The house was very clean and very well furnished. We had a great time and it was so nice to come back to a comfortable house after a long day at the beach.

Home away from Home

  • 5 of 5

Just back from our second stay at the Yellow House. Warm weather and an even warmer welcome from Annette (thanks again for the 'goodies') made our stay extra special. Air conditioning was a bonus!

New discovery this year was Sun-Oka beach in Summerland - can't think why we didn't find it last year - wonderful off-leash doggy friendly beach. A must visit for anyone with dogs.

Other highlight was a re-visit to Wouda's Bakery in Penticton - they have amazing cornish pasties and many other goodies. Bulk supplies headed back with us to Calgary - they'll have to last until next year.

Yellow House is spotlessly clean and with everything you need. We can't recommend it highly enough and now refer to it as our home in the Okanagan!

Heads up Annette - we are planning on returning in 2014!
