The house is a contemporary, well maintained, family oriented design with fabulous views.

It rests at the top of two cliff faces offering views of and protection from the Atlantic Ocean. Privacy and function are the focus of this property.

Beds include 1 king size, 1 queen size, 2 single beds and 2 more singles or together another king. The property offers open lawns, babbling creeks, a pond, a water fall crashing to the pebble beach below and multiple micro climate niches for the many gardens. A 10 minute walk (or two minute drive) will get you to the nearest sandy beach, a 15 minute drive to the UNESCO world heritage site of the Town of Lunenburg, a 60 minute drive to the city of Halifax and an 80 minute drive will put you at an international airport.

Local restaurants start within a 15 minute walk to the Ovens Natural Park and a 15 minute drive to the Town of Lunenburg where a vast choice of gastronomic pleasures is available for all tastes. Suitability: Non-smoking only. Pets are considered. Children are welcome. The property is NOT wheel chair accessible.

Great House!

  • 5 of 5

This house was larger than expected and very clean. The owner was very attentive. Lots of room for 5 adults and 3 children. Beautiful decks and views. Two wooden platforms near the water are a short walk from the house with the chimenea and adirondack chairs. Kitchen was well stocked with items to prepare food. I would highly recommend! The Ovens which are a short walk are beautiful. Easy to drive to beautiful surrounding beaches and towns.

Picture is not accurate

  • 4 of 5

This is a lovely home, very clean and well equipped. We enjoyed our stay in the area. The only negative remark I have is that the picture looks like the house is close to the water and was the reason we chose this VRBO but in actuality the house is quite a distance to the water. The two decks and chairs at the water are in need of repair. I would however still recommend Rose Ridge.

A great place to unwind with family, soak up the scenery and local culture, and enjoy life.

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful time and joined our family who had arrived a couple of days earlier. It felt like coming home in many ways and over the next few days we had perfect weather for trying out some of the local beaches and touring Lunenburg and the surrounding communities. In the evening we were back home for dinner and playing games into the evening, laughing and building wonderful memories.

What a wonderful holiday!

Loved it! Definitely coming back.

  • 5 of 5

This is a truly beautiful, magical property. My children and dog all loved it. The pictures don't convey just how amazing it is. The house is well stocked, well organized and has plenty of room. The views are incredible. There are so many places to just hang out and admire the scenery. Owner is very pleasant and easy to deal with. We loved the location - close to Lunenburg (which is fab) but far enough out so you have peace and quiet. Best beach in the world is 5 mins away - Sand Dollar Beach (there are other nice beaches nearby, I hear, but we liked this one so much we never explored the others). Location is also excellent for runners, if you are in to that.

Gorgeous location - fully equipped home

  • 4 of 5

Our family had a wonderful stay at the Rose Ridge Retreat. In total, our party had 8 adults who stayed and we all fit very comfortably. The only thing that wasn't clear to us ahead of our arrival is that one of the bedrooms is open to the kitchen by a staircase - this isn't the best situation as you cannot close off the sound from downstairs; however the bedroom itself was lovely.

The layout of the home is odd and a little confusing at first but the downstairs semi-open concept is great for making dinner and hanging out. Rose Ridge was clean and well equipped so that you are able to prepare meals just like you would at home. There are lovely decks surrounding the property which feels like it is in the middle of a forest but has great water views from the decks as well. The Ovens natural park is just around the corner, there is a nice beach at the end of the road and the Rose Bay convenience/liquor store is just a few minutes away.

Overall, we had a lovely experience at Rose Ridge and would recommend it as a great home base to come back to after days spent exploring the beautiful surrounding areas.

Great location!

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a centralized South Shore location to explore to the north and south, this is it. Really pretty setting on several acres, private and quiet. House is well maintained with stocked kitchen, plenty of bedrooms, two patios to relax, grill, chiminea stove overlooking the water and a hammock to watch the night sky. Easy access to Lunenburg, Hirtle's Beach, Mahone Bay. Walk to the Ovens. We enjoyed our stay very much!
