Nicely decorated condo in a highly desirable complex - Gaviotas 2, which is Spanish architecture, with a large swimming pool in a tropical setting. Complex has a very central, convenient location, close to all major attractions in Playa. We are only 5-10 minutes walking distance to Mamitas Beach and Avenida 5th. One of the largest grocery supermarkets - MEGA is across the street and Walmart is just a short stroll away. There are many restaurants, cafes, fresh juice/smoothies and health food stores just around the corner. All within short walking distance. You are going to appreciate the location very much.
Brand new smart HDTV with many internet apps including Netflix and Pandora. Cable TV and high speed internet included. ELECTRICITY USAGE NOT INCLUDED ON RESERVATION EXCEEDING 1 WEEK AND WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM THE SECURITY DEPOSIT. However, we have low energy LED lights throughout and brand new infrared technology, low energy use A/C units and a water heater. Our electric bills are very low.
This unit is tucked away deep into the complex away from busy streets and traffic, which is hard to find in a Playa with the new growth and construction. There are 2 balconies - the larger one overlooks the pool and the tropical foliage. We have an Eastern sun exposure with early morning sun and shade in the afternoon. The complex is gated and security guarded at night.
We are requesting that you make us a price offer and we will respond to you based on the time of year and availability. The owner responds immediately to e-mails and there is a rental manager nearby in Playa ready to assist you. You will not be disappointed. Please read our reviews.

We chose the unit at Gaviotas 2 because of the location. It is right in the center of Playa within walking distance to the grocery store, Ave 05 and the beach. This complex has a beautiful, Spanish architecture and is very well maintained. What makes this complex very special is the tropical, large swimming pool which is not a rooftop, like most new developments in Playa. You gt to sit on the balcony and enjoy the view and the serenity.
What makes this Condo unique
Playa is one of the best destinations in the world. We had taveled to many places including Europe, USA, Canada, Hawaii and South America. Nothing beats the atmosphere of Playa Del Carmen, the beaches, the sightseeing opportinities and the climate.

Perfect place to spend my winter.
This condo was exactly what I was looking for to get away from a cold Midwest winter. I appreciate the fully stocked kitchen and gas grill. I loved the balcony over the pool, and really appreciated the fact that we didn't have to worry about insects while sitting there morning, day, or night. Most of the other renters in the complex go there every year and were a wealth of information on places to eat, visit, and listen to live music. The pool area gets plenty of sun, but you can also find shady areas when it's time to get out of the sun. There are plenty of linens, pillows, and towels, including lots of beach towels. There was also a beach umbrella, beach chair, and cooler for days at the beach (although we prefer to go to beach clubs so we don't carry anything to the beach except a towel).
The owner's local contact, Claudia, was absolutely delightful and answered all my questions and concerns. There were some minor issues (problems with the wifi and hot water) and Claudia addressed these as quickly as possible (including taking care of getting a new wifi box installed on a weekend and being there to work with the plumber installing a new water heater).
The location was ideal for me. All my favorites are within 2-3 blocks: DAC (fresh and healthy food) for fruits and vegetables, El Nativo for juices and smoothies, Mega for shopping, El Chiltepin for shrimp cocktails and the delightful Tostada Caribena , Choux Choux Cafe and El Jardin for delightful breakfasts, Papa Charlies and Don Chandel for outstanding Italian food, 5th Avenue (just past the Red Hotel!) for people watching, and more.
Bottom line, the condo is as described and the pictures are accurate. All promises were kept and all issues addressed and resolved. I will definitely rent this condo again if my travels take me to Playa del Carmen. Thank you Isabel and Claudia for a wonderful winter respite!

Great location for Playa Stay
Gaviotas II is in a great location, close to Mega Foods and Dak's. Also many local favorite restaurants, El Fagon, Don Chendo, Papa Charlies, Ninos pizza, etc. There has been construction across the street on two new projects but that seems to be just about done. We hope to stay again. Soon!
Very Nice place
We stayed at this condo on March 2017 and we enjoyed it very much. Condo was clean, quit, includes everything we need and it is well located. Claudia, the manager of this condo was available, very nice and provided useful info on what to see. Would recommand this place and would like to go back. Thank you.

Comfortable home and awesome location
Exactly as advertised. 2 full ensures and a powder room off the main living area. Reliable in-suite internet and washing machine. Love how the balconies all overlook the pool area - a lovely oasis. The location couldn't be more perfect... short walk to the beach and 5th Avenue shops and restaurants. Taxi stand just around the corner. Mega supermarket just across the street. Thank you!

Great location, quiet and comfortable complex
The Location is excellent: 5min walk to grocery stores and restaurants; 10min walk to beach and 5th Ave. The apartment is spacious and comfortable and the complex is very well maintained, safe and quiet. Owner and manager were very responsive, welcoming and accommodating. The Beds were comfortable. We were a party of 5 and the 5th person had to sleep on the sofa in the living room, which is not a fold out bed and consequentially wasn't very large or comfortable.
Good Location, Nice Amenities
My wife and I stayed at Gaviotas 2 the month of May, 2016. For us the location was perfect! Just a block and 1/2 to Mega foods and a block away from DAK's. Away from the noise of fifth but just a short walk to all the action. The pool and gardens are well kept by Jorge and the property is secure with parking. We hope to spend more time there next year!
Our favorite places to visit: Tulum ruins and the beach, Akumal bay (swim with the sea turtles), Chichen Itza, Hel-Ha,
