Jaci or Mike purchased this house in 2002
Mike and Jaci fell in love with the Moose River area, then decided to put down roots. Mike hand built the chalet from the ground up and wanted to extend true Alaskan hospitality by turning it into a Vacation Rental, since we moved into the new house next door. The beauty of the Moose River with all the great birding and wildlife is spectacular year round.
Front row view of the river approximately 50 feet from living room windows, yet secluded and private. Gazebo with round table seats 4-6 people. Largest outdoor Hot Tub manufactured by Sundance Spa on a wood deck with wonderful private views of the river. Additional covered sun deck out back with a chest freezer and lounging area. Just outside from the kitchen is a large stainless steel fish cleaning table and handmade cutting board. Double hammock under the shade tree. Outside BBQ stocked with fresh cut wood and charcoal.
after being on the road for 7 days.
Quiet watched moose & twins every night at 630. So quite, love it - Thanks for all the supplies!
Been here 3 days, seen 2 people and 7 moose!
Wonderful time hope to come back!
We wanted a quiet relaxing time and felt at home in the well-stocked, roomy and comfortable cabin.
We have lived in Alaska for 30+ years and very much enjoyed sharing adventures and beach-combing finds with Mike.
We would definitely stay again! Very peaceful and rejuvenating!

I love the beach combing artifacts that decorate the front room. Even at negative temps it stayed warm. Would love to stay again.
We liked the cabins location and being able to get away from the city to relax. It was great to spend the morning drinking coffe and reading my Bible and books at the cabin. Very comfortable place to spend the weekend!
Amazing experience. A very well kept and well stocked cabin (we made French toast but forgot the syrup and we opened a cabinet and there was syrup). Beautiful view of the river during the day and a breathtaking view of the stars from the hot tub at night. Quick drive to resturaunts and other fun activities. Mike was very helpful in inflating a deflated tire, so we could make it to a tire shop to have it looked at. We highly recommend staying here and plan on staying here again in the future.
Just what we where looking for! A quaint cabin in a lovely surrounding and great hosts. We loved grilling out while we sat in the cute gazebo. Thanks
The Moose River Ranch Chalet is a great little rustic cabin along the Moose River. Jaci and Mike were very accommodating during our five night stay for my wife, my adult son, and me. We spent most of our time fishing the Kenai River and it was wonderful. Mike has a fish cleaning station at the Chalet and after Mike demonstrated his filleting skills, we cooked our fresh fish on the outdoor grill. We made most of our meals at the Chalet where the kitchen is a little small, but adequate for our needs. If you are looking for a rustic cabin away from the crowds, this is a great place.
