Serene, tranquil, relaxing, and cozy is how our guests describe the feeling they get the minute they walk through the door! Our charming cottage guarantees that you will come away refreshed following your stay and wishing you didn’t have to leave!

This spacious, 3-level cottage boasts a seasonal lake view from its secluded, wooded lot. Native cedar/beaded board walls and hardwood flooring create a feeling of coziness and warmth. The screened porch is just the spot for relaxing your cares away! Wonderfully comfortable beds assure you will wake up refreshed. And, the cook in your group will absolutely love the adorable, chef-friendly kitchen equipped with every imaginable gadget and all the basic spices. Get out on the lake with your boat (put-in at Conley Bottom Marina or Point Road - both a 5 min drive) or rent a pontoon from Conley Bottom. The water is invitingly crystal clear! Great fishing too!

After your day on Lake Cumberland, gather around a fire you've built in the outdoor fire pit or snuggle in for a movie selected from our DVD library on the flat screen TV, a game of cards or a good book from our collection. Or, you can enjoy the recreational facilities of Golden Pond Resort which include: swimming pool, tennis / basketball court, a sand volleyball pit, corn hole pit, horseshoes, a gazebo with grills for picnics and a play area for the little ones.

This home is FULLY EQUIPPED, including linens, and is ready for your enjoyment! You need only bring your food and paper products. Alcoholic beverages can be purchased in Somerset [20 mins away] since Serenity Ridge sits in a dry county.

A few things to know...BEDROOM LAYOUT is a king on first level; full and x-long twin bunk bedrooms on second level; queen on lower level. The SCREENED PORCH offers cushioned, wicker furniture for relaxing with table/chairs for outdoor dining. The DECK on the front of the house is furnished and is a nice, open-air gathering spot. The LAKE VIEW is seasonal and overlooks Conley Bottom Marina through a wooded area. CELL PHONE signal easily attained for major providers and there is broadband WIRELESS INTERNET on the property. Our goal is to keep our home SMOKE-FREE; the screened porch and deck offer a relaxing place to smoke. Unfortunately, WE DO NOT ALLOW PETS in order to keep our hardwood flooring scratch-free and to ensure an ALLERGY-FREE environment for all guests. Serenity Ridge is KID-FRIENDLY. We provide 2 child gates for you to block off stairways for the safety of your little ones and a toddler chair to pull up to the dining table.

About Kari & Vince Wardell, Owners

Kari & Vince live in WV, have been married for over 25 years and have 2 grown boys. Vince is a Sales Manager in the television industry. Kari is...well...a sales person / merchandiser / renovator. She spent 7 months in Kentucky during the renovation of Serenity Ridge and made our vision come to life! We enjoy getting to our lake cottage whenever we can. In September of 2014, we hosted our oldest sons wedding at Serenity Ridge and finally got to share Serenity Ridge with all our friends and family. What a beautiful time that was! And through the years, we've had the pleasure of sharing our home with many wonderful families that come together there! Enjoy!

Vince has always wanted a "little getaway place". So he began his online search at Lake Cumberland, where we spent many wonderful vacations with our best friends. And, voila! He found it! We couldn't be happier to consider ourselves residents of Monticello and Lake Cumberland!

What makes this house unique

We fell in love with the setting! Serenity Ridge is so close to the lake and while summer is great, it is absolutely spectacular in the Fall with all the trees, trees and more trees! We also loved the idea that it was within a small community and that there is a recreational area for our guests' use. The house itself needed a total over-haul and a lot of love! But all of our blood, sweat and tears has made it totally worth it! It will be our family's special place for years to come. All it needs now is the pitter-pat of tiny, grand-baby feet!

RENTAL / LODGING POLICY
o RENTAL MINIMUMS are 3-nights during Peak Season & Holidays; 2-nights during Off-peak Season
o WEEKLY RATES are for 6-night / 7-day stays
o RATES are subject to change until reservation is confirmed, are based on an 8-person max occupancy & do not include 7% KY State Tax [6% Sales tax & 1% Transient Room tax] or the Cleaning Fee
o CHILDREN under age 10 stay free but are included in the 8-person occupancy count, unless approved by management
o RESERVATIONS are made by phone and confirmed by mail
o DEPOSIT is 50% of room rate for length of stay & is required within 7 days of reservation by check or money order. Deposits not received within 7 days will be applied to your credit card with a 5% surcharge on the deposit amount. Deposits are applied to actual stay.
o SECURITY DEPOSIT is not charged but all DAMAGES are charged. A valid credit card is required at time of booking & is required prior to check-in as a security deposit with a verification of $250 being charged to your card. All damages or missing items discovered following check-out will be charged to your credit card; guest is notified by phone or mail.
o CANCELLATION: Refund is not considered unless a 45-day minimum, written notice of cancellation is given prior to the check-in date by the person who booked the unit. If a 45-day written notice is provided, refund of deposit or credit toward an off-season stay may be given if unit is re-rented, minus a $150 non-refundable cancellation fee, depending on the circumstances. NO REFUNDS if less than 45 days written notice.
o REFUND is not given for late arrivals or early departures.
o CHECK-IN is 4:00 pm; check-out is 10:00 am. Late check-out can result in a half day room rate charge applied to your credit card.
o NON-SMOKING: Smoking permitted only on outside decks & porches. Detected smoke odor or damages from smoking will result in an automatic charge of $150.00 to your credit card for removal of odor.
o PETS are not permitted

Deposit of 50% of the room rate must be received within 7 days of booking; balance paid at check in. An $85 cleaning fee and 7% Kentucky tax will be paid in addition to room rate. Weekly rentals are 6 nights/7 days.
