This is a lovely, luxurious, full log home situated at the top of a hill with an incredible view over The Chief golf course, the hills of Bellaire and Lake Bellaire. This fantastic lodge has two living areas - both with beautiful stone fireplaces. There is a full kitchen on the main floor that is open to the large dining area and living room with a wall of windows leading to a deck and views that take your breath away in any season. The lower level has a family room with a wet bar area, full laundry and a storage/locker room for all your clubs or skis. The loft looking over the living room has two double beds and a couch. The master bedroom with its private bath is on the main floor and has a king bed and a sitting area. Also in the lower level are 3 bedrooms (one with a king, one with a queen and one with 3 doubles) and another full bath. There are also 4 single rollaway beds and a sofa bed for extra sleeping.

Just down the driveway is the Chief golf course and the Pelicans Nest restaurant with great food, sports on the TV's and entertainment.

The town of Bellaire and its cute shops, restaurants (try Lulu's) and Shorts Brewery is just 5 minutes down the hill.

Shanty Creek with its golf courses and ski slopes is just across the street. We are also only 40 minutes from Traverse City, Charlevoix or Petoskey!

The house comes fully equipped with most everything your could need for a great stay!

Excellent Property!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this home as a Christmas gift for our adult children. We wanted to stay together for a ski weekend. All total, there were 11 of us. There was plenty of room for all of us without anyone feeling crowded. The basement space was cozy and allowed for some of the group to break off when they needed their space. The loft area was very cool, also. The layout of the first floor was very open and provided an excellent place to play games or just have conversations. The property was absolutely beautiful! I found it to be clean and it had all of the amenities that we needed to make for a relaxing stay.

We skied at Boyne Mountain, which was about 40 minutes away. There were very few restaurant options this time of year, but we ordered pizza from a local place the first night and it was really good - the second night we ate at the Pelican's Roost restaurant right at the end of the driveway - food was a bit better than bar food.

Back to the property - the views were spectacular, it sits atop a hill on the golf course and is very secluded. This was the first time I had used VBRO and I had a few problems, but the owners were timely and polite in their responses.

Having only two full baths was a bit of a challenge, but it didn't detract from the overall stay. The only recommendation I would have is to bring your own towels/washcloths- there was only one towel left on each of the beds and the towels were fairly small. Not a big deal, but something to know (the owner solicited feedback and I shared this, they said they would correct it for future stays).

Absolutely Stunning Home!

  • 4 of 5

This home is amazing with beautiful views and is very spacious for a large group to enjoy. Gorgeous fireplaces and plenty of seating for everyone. Very cozy and not far from skiing which is what we were there for. We had five families total and there was plenty of room for all. With all that being said, for the price we had high expectations. Would have given this 5 stars, however, there were some issues with older appliances not working properly, some areas of concern on overall cleanliness and if you plan to cook meals there you may want to bring some of your own supplies. One thing not mentioned is that the home sits atop a beautiful hill but you may want to have 4 wheel drive if visiting in the winter because some of the cars could not make it up the driveway. All in all, it is a very beautiful home and we would stay there again!

Ideal place to vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We LOVED the house and everything that it came with. The house was beautiful and we all mentioned that we would vacation there again. I would recommend going to the bar at the bottom of the hill as well...great staff and a great environment.

Staff was very helpful during the rental process, and we all had a wonderful trip. Thanks again! :)
