We are a professional couple who work in publishing, and have enjoyed living in this house in every season for many years.
We constantly marvel at its comfort, its peaceful wooded setting and marvelous mt. views, also its close proximity to all the delights of the Hudson Valley area.
We fell in love with the grand view in the back and with the spaciousness, solidity and welcoming feel of the house. It uniquely combines rustic peacefulness and easy access to all the features of a charming old town, convenient shopping and all local cultural facilities,
My girlfriends and I decided to escape NYC for a winter weekend - and were lucky enough to find this gem of a house in the cutest town! The house is spacious, beautiful, cozy, artfully decorated and there are two fireplaces! The kitchen is big enough for 2-3 people to be cooking at one time, which is always a plus. The porches are a huge bonus - and have beautiful views!! When I return this Summer, I can't wait to bbq and eat on the deck, while watching the sunset over the mountains. Barbara and John were attentive and very organized -- the checking in process was a breeze and we had everything we needed for a fabulous, relaxing weekend. My friends and I truly had a weekend we will never forget!
We had a wonderful and comfortable stay over a long weekend. The fireplaces were perfect as the weather was unseasonably cold. Our only concern was the house had an overwhelming smell of moth balls, and there were cobwebs and bugs everywhere. But that was our only issue. The view from the home was breathtaking.
Stayed here for July 4th weekend and had a great time. The listing undersells how great the view from the deck is, we spent most of our time sitting outside. The kitchen could have been a bit cleaner on our arrival, but that was a minor issue.
We had a lovely time and found the house to be very charming. The views from the deck are wonderful and just what you're hoping for when you're in the country. The house is very comfortable, and convenient to town.
