Take the Staten Island Ferry, which runs 24-7 from the southern tip of Manhattan. Walk along the embankment with a view of the Statue of Liberty, or ride the bus a few minutes straight to our door in the St. George historic district. Step into a Victorian home surrounded by tall trees.

Mount a winding staircase and find yourself in the world of the past, under the tall ceilings, with light from many windows. Enjoy the comfort of three spacious bedrooms and a wide-open living-dining room with a high brick chimney.

Very quiet neighborhood. Nikolay was very accommodating. Grandsons enjoyed watching the squirrels on the roof out kitchen door.

Spacious clean home with lots of character

The house is older and tucked into a quiet neighborhood. The walk to the ferry proved a little further than our children could make it and we opted for a ferry taxi to and from each day. There is also a bus stop 2 houses down that would take you.

Because the temps went from 85 f to 42f in 2 days, trying to adjust the heating and cooling to comfortable took a little bit, but there we all stayed comfortable.

There were no bugs, shower and bathrooms were new. Everything we needed was here. We did bring our own hairdryer and were thankful.

There were a lot of towels and cleaning supplies.

The store next door was perfect, fresh bagels every morning and anything we needed. Victor became our new nest friend.

Mattresses were new AND firm. We never had a reason to contact owner. He gave us great information on how to get into the house and wifi password.

If you are looking to do NY with a large family and want to stay away from the loud bright city at a reasonable price, this is the place for you!

We will definately consider this home for our next stay.

Very disappointing the apartment was very very fifty!

We have used vrbo for many years and. Always had great success. But this rental was way below ok It smelled bad and had not been cleaned in a long time lint and dust everywhere. The toilets would not flush properly. there were bugs and we had to spray. No wash cloths or dish cloths. Well to say more is not needed To say the least we were very unhappy with this rental and think you should check it out before offering it to anyone else

Owner's Response: I am apologize for inconvenience. I have a dishwasher instead of cloths. If you have any issue with a toilet just let me know. I'll call to a plumber instantly. I always can invite someone to clean the apartment one more time if needed.

The property is clean and tidy and more than adequate for our family which was 2 Adults and our 4 ch

This property is all about its location. It's a 15 minute stroll to the Staten Island Ferry or a 2 minute $10 taxi ride. The property has all the basics required for a family 'doing' Manhatten and needing a place to sleep in between. It's nicely spread out over two floors so, in our case, the kids had upstairs while we had the downstairs area to ourselves. Yes it's basic, but it offers brilliant value for money when compared to the price of hotels in Manhatten. It has everything in the Kitchenette you need to make breakfast and snacks and there is a handy little deli next door which provides all the basics needed..... And they were nice people too.

The owner was very helpful and so I would have no hesitation recommending his property

Affordable alternative to visit Manhattan

I went into the house and inspected it very well and found the house to be very clean and also inspected all the mattresses and pull-out beds and there were no problems. The apartment was wonderful, the rooms are very clean and all supplies needed for a wonderful vacation were on hand. Nikolay was very accommodating. We arrived early and were allowed to stay late in the afternoon to enjoy one more day of Manhattan. Nikolai had checked on us several times during the week to make sure everything was okay. I cannot express how much we enjoyed staying at this house we felt safe and comfortable all week long, and the driveway was such a bonus since we drove in to New York City. There's a bus stop right outside which we caught and took to the ferry every day . I would definitely stay in the house again. Thanks Nikolay for making our vacation a very memorable one.

House is located in the St. George Historical District, 100 yards from a waterfront esplanade facing Manhattan and 15-20 minutes walk from the Staten Island Ferry. This is a fast-changing, diverse neighborhood, mostly residential but with walking access to local restaurants and shops.

The Staten Island Ferry remains the greatest FREE ride in the world. Boats leave every half hour most of the day, and travel 25 minutes to Manhattan, past the Statue of Liberty.
