Pam is a family law attorney and mediator, mother to two and stepmom to two more. She loves hiking, running and the beauty of the desert. She looks forward to acquainting you with the "must-do" list during your visit to the Sonoran Desert. A booklet with restaurant recommendations, list of neighborhood and local attractions and fun day trips. We will be helpful if asked and unobtrusive if you prefer quiet.
Pam Liberty purchased this house in 1994
I built this home when I was pregnant with my oldest (now in college) because of the peaceful beauty of the location. While close to town, this home is out in the unspoiled desert, surrounded by saguaros and mesquite. The solar heated pool and Coleman hot tub, hidden in an outcropping of natural rock, will be waiting for you when you get home. You can sit on the porch swing and watch the lights of downtown and the UA begin to sparkle as the sun sets. Look for wildlife of all desert varieties.
This home has been lovingly cared for and was built to maximize city views. It was constructed with 16-inch mud adobe block, has 13 feet ceilings, dyed cement floors and viga ceilings. It is a true Santa Fe with beehive fireplaces in the living room and master bedroom. There is a bonus media room for TV and Netflicks after a busy day. Tucson has been rated the best cycling city in America by Cyclist Magazine and Adobe Ranch is locate on a popular biking route and within biking distance of awe-inspiring mountain and road bike trails. The weather is hot in the summer and temperate year round. Tucson still has not lost its Old West feel. The pool is surrounded by colorful, low-water desert shrubbery such as lantana and bougainvillea. There is a ramada on the highest part of the land for an evening cocktail. You will definitely see desert wildlife, including coyote, roadrunners, javelina, quail and hawks.
This place was the perfect complement to our stay in Tucson. So peaceful and with amazing views of the city and the mountains.
We have rented from VRBO several times and by far the Adobe Ranch has been our favorite. The Adobe was centrally located so it made it easy to get to all the places we wanted to see such as Saguaro National Park, Yetman trail, Old Tuscon and more. The Adobe was beautiful, the view from the patio was spectacular, the pool was refreshing and the hot tub was what we needed after hiking all day. It also added a little extra ambience to our Tucson experience. We will be back!
My family stayed in this home for week the beginning of March - the house is in a beautiful area. We all enjoyed the patios and outdoor spaces. My grandma added some new birds to her list. The little boys enjoyed jumping into the pool and the grown ups liked the hot tub. We also enjoyed hiking in the wash and on the trails at the end of the road. We had been a little concerned that the house might not be big enough for our group, but there was plenty of space and the house was comfortable.
This property is phenomenal! My husband and I were in desperate need of a vacation from our Wisconsin winter and this romantic oasis in the foothills of the Tucson mountains was exactly what we were seeking. We were here from March 13-19, 2017 and the weather was in the low 90s all week so we were able to use the swimming pool! This property has EIGHT very unique seating areas on four different elevations scattered throughout the yard from which one may enjoy the sun or shade with magnificent breezes even on the hottest afternoon particularly from an elevated covered patio with its own ceiling fan that overlooks the pool! We took advantage of the secluded hot tub each morning and evening, when the temperatures were in the 50s, from which we watched the sun rise or set depending on where we sat! Spectacular sunrises while enjoying our morning coffee in the bright blue porch swing! This home is surrounded by native plants outside its gates while the area surrounding the pool is bursting with gorgeous yellow, fuschia and orange flowers--simply stunning--and whimsical southwestern yard art. The inside of the home has been decorated in authentic southwestern fashion with a serene, minimalistic approach that makes it feel like a romantic desert cottage. The gorgeous kitchen was fully equipped and we used the BBQ for most of our evening meals so we could enjoy the beauty of this property as we dined. The home is close enough to the city should you want to venture out (we had dinner at El Charro one night--highly recommend). We have booked many properties through HomeAway and THIS home is by far the most memorable to date. The owner has obviously and lovingly created a very special home for visitors to enjoy. She has thought of EVERYTHING--including fresh flowers on the dining room table to welcome us when we arrived! We hope to return to this unforgettable home. We will cherish the memories we made here the rest of our lives.
Thank you, Pam, for sharing your lovely home. We loved the authentic adobe style, artistic details, and fabulous outdoor pool, patio, and jacuzzi.
We found the location perfect for hiking, wildlife viewing, photography, and relaxing. It was easy to zip in to the university district for dinner, then come "home" and enjoy the twinkling city lights from the hot tub.
We have rented many properties through VRBO and this was one of the best. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
