About Dawn Perez

I am a Wisconsin native and have 2 sons. I work as a Physical Therapist, and enjoy reading, hiking, and quilting in my free time.

My husband is a steam fitter, and also a retired c130 loadmaster from the Airforce. He enjoys fishing, and motorcycling.

Dawn Perez purchased this cabin in 2010

Why Dawn Perez chose Northern Wisconsin

Growing up, my family had vacationed in the Great Northwoods for many years. I had many fond memories of time spent 'up north' playing at the lake. A few years ago, my own family actually rented Grandma Dorothy's for 2 summers, when it became available for purchase. I couldn't bear the thought of not being able to spend time at Grandma Dorothy's. We wanted to continue the tradition of spending time here with family and friends. We bought the place and have been spending vacations up here ever since.

What makes this cabin unique

I love the convenience of living just on the outskirts of town, but having the feel of being secluded in a lakeside retreat. We can walk or ride bikes into town, or to the beach, etc, many times a day. The kids are never bored because there is so much to do.

One of my favorite things to do is take a stroll on the trail near the house, either early morning, or at dusk. Often times I will spot deer or other wildlife along the path.

Great family vacation home

  • 4 of 5

Had a great time staying here. House was very nice and comfortable. Had a couple issues with the TV but that was all the bad. The deck outside is a great place to spend time by the water. Also, the neighbors on both sides of the house are very nice. A super plus! Easy, short walk into Mercer and all it has to offer. Would have rented again but it was already booked for 2018. Maybe another time. Thanks again!

Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4, stayed on Echo Lake this year, and at this lake house for the 1st time. It was a very relaxing vacation, with a beautiful view out the front window. Both neighbors , were very friendly - we enjoyed talking with both of them. I have been going to Mercer with my family since , I have been 5 years old, this was one of the most relaxing. Thanks an see you next year.

Great stay overall

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this home last week, June 24-July 1. We liked both, the location and the house. It equipped with everything you need. We especially appreciate having washer and dryer machines. Good kayak, canoe and row boat. Nice fishing dock. Probably the only minus is that the rooms are a little dark. I'd recommend cutting some trees/branches around windows, especially the window facing the lake. But overall, we liked the stay and would be happy to get back in a while.

Peaceful, relaxing getaway

  • 5 of 5

I wanted a three-day vacation in a peaceful, beautiful spot to rewind and recharge. I found the perfect place at Grandma Dorothy's! It was very clean and spacious with great beach access, especially for someone with mobility issues. I have a bad back so not having to clamber over steps or rocks was ideal.

Although it did rain (esp Saturday morning), I really enjoyed sleeping with the window open, listening to the rain on the tin roof and leaves and the waves on the lake. The view of the lake is gorgeous. Clean, fresh air!

It was nice to be secluded enough yet have easy access to town and amenities. I only wish I could come back with my husband and our dogs, but pets aren't allowed here due to allergies.

Highly recommend this property
