Location Seren! House Simply Beautiful.

  • 5 of 5

The location and house was more than what we expected. The view is breathtaking. And the location is very peaceful. Everyone in my party was amazed at how beautiful the house was and how well it is kept. Any and everything you need is available in the house. The amentities are abundant (dishes, cooking items, games, movies etc. Just to name a few). We had 8 adults and 3 children in our party and that was more than enough room. The house could easily fit a lot more people and there would still be more than enough space where people would not be on top of each other. Everything in the house is up to date. If we did not go anywhere, there would be enough things to do. Playing games with the family was our most favored. There was so much space that we had several things going on at one time. One group was playing cards, another group was playing dominoes, others were watching television and others were on the deck enjoying the beautiful view that the mountains had to offer. Another memorable moment is watching the sun rise from the back deck in the mornings. It is so beautiful. There is not enough great things that I could say about this property in this review but the one thing I will say is that it is a place that you MUST EXPERIENCE!!!!! There are also other things to do such as going to the clubhouse pool and taking a tour of the local cavern, which we all enjoyed. But that is if you can pull yourself away from the peace and serenity of the house and the beautiful view of the mountains. I assure you, everyone from young to old will enjoy this property. We are already looking at our calendars for when we can enjoy this property again. I will also highly recommend this place to others I know.

This property is absolutely beautiful!!!

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking for a secluded, quiet place high up in the mountains with a view like no other, come to Bears Den Lodge!!! The pictures do not do this place any justice. Beautiful bedrooms, awesome decks, sleek and up to date bathrooms, this place is worth every penny! The kitchen has a huge stove equipped with grill and heat lamps, plenty of coffee makers, including a Keurig. This lodge has an amazing view all around. I can't say enough about this lodge. The owner is very pleasant and easy to reach if need be. She's very accommodating, and well informed. You will be very impressed! We will definitely be back.

Sweeping mountain views and great Thanksgiving atmosphere

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at Bears Den Lodge this past Thanksgiving with 18 family members and had a wonderful time. The sweeping views of the smoky mountains are impressive when you first walk into the lodge. The floor to ceiling windows and expansive deck allow you to take in the full view. The property was clean with fresh sheets, towels and a few nice fall decor touches. They even had fresh flowers in the kitchen which was a nice touch. They did have a Keurig coffee maker, but it was missing a part and the other coffee maker was broken. After reaching out to Sarah, the owner, though, two property managers came and remedied the situation by going into town and buying 2 coffee makers. We were so thankful for their quick response and prompt return on the night before Thanksgiving. The bedrooms were enough for all of us and the kids got to sleep in the game room which they liked. They probably would have like a bathroom close to the game room, but there were plenty inside the lodge. We were thankful for the extra refrigerator and ice maker in the pantry. We would not have been able to cool all of our food without them. The stacked stone fireplace was gorgeous and the ledge around it provided a perfect resting spot to sit and take in the fire. The close proximity to the Smoky Mountains allowed us to drive into the park each day and go on long hikes and return to the comfort of the lodge. Unfortunately, the pool was not open and we didn't make plans to take in the golf course, but there was still plenty to do. Only a few things I would want to mention so that they prepare for the next guests is that the kitchen be stocked with better utensils and cleaned a bit better. There was no whisk and only one spatula. Since we were cooking several big meals, it would have been nice to easily reach for these things, but we found ourselves looking in every drawer and coming up short. The oven, while it looks nice in the photo, had seen better days and the cooktop could have used a deep cleaning. There was also a sippy cup left sitting near the top of the hood in the kitchen. It may have been that the cleaning crew missed a few details, but it did not affect our overall stay. All in all, I would recommend Bears Den to anyone with a large family wanting a great fall getaway.

Wonderful sunrise retreat!

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for luxurious accommodations and a great sunrise view of Mount LeConte and the Wears Valley, you cannot find a better place than the Bear's Den Lodge. With four master suites and a huge great room and massive deck, we had ample area to relax and take in the mountains. The Lodge offers separate, high-end bathrooms for each suite, and a massive open kitchen with a glassed-in great room equipped with a huge stone fireplace and a TV large enough for all to see. Ours was a group of adults, but there is a connected game room that would have slept several kids and kept them occupied for hours. We have enjoyed several VRBO properties over the years, and this is likely the best of them all.

The Bear's Den delivers !

  • 5 of 5

Perched at the very end of Bear's Den Road, the 'Bear's Den' delivers phenomenal east facing views and luxury accommodations. Big or small gatherings have plenty of room to congregate together or spread out. The house is furnished with top of the line appliances, travertine bathrooms, generous seating areas, separate game room and massive deck.

We took advantage of the pool access at Laurel Valley Country Club on 2 separate afternoons following a half day of hiking.

The owner made sure we arrived safely and was available by phone or text for any questions we may have had. Our group would definitely return.
