|Minimum Stay||5 - 10 nights|
Allow us to be frank for a moment. When you go on vacation, a spectacular view is what puts you in a good mood. Morning or night, a seemingly simple sight has a way of affecting your mood so you don’t care what you do. Travel is about contentment. And beautiful Maui sightlines are uncontended when it comes to Golden Shores, whether you're just gazing out at the big blue sea, or taking in a few amazing sunsets over a cocktail or two.
But there’s more to see here at Golden Shores. Sure, you’re extremely close to the beach. You’ll be spending plenty of time there obviously. But what about the 2-bedroom, 2-bath home on that day you just want to lay around? Well, once you sashay across the brand new tiled floors and past the lovely local artwork, you should probably hit the wraparound couch. That’s the premier lazy spot for some large flatscreen viewing. Don’t want any distractions from your relaxation mode? Understood. Just head to your king-size bed and enjoy some comforting silence before you calmly fall asleep. By the way, the guest bedroom with two twins that combine together ain’t half bad either.
But is lounging about what you really came to Maui for? Of course not. So once you’re properly rested, head down to Duke’s Restaurant for one of the best seafood dinners of your life. Grab some boogie boards from the fun closet and surf the waves. Maybe just take a tranquil stroll up and down the beach. After all, this is your vacation. And at Golden Shores, it’s sure to be a good one.
Honua Kai Resort is the newest oceanfront condo resort on Maui’s North Ka’anapali Beach. This home away from home resort offers all of the amenities of a luxury hotel. Watch the sunset from Duke's oceanfront restaurant, grab a latte at Aina's gourmet market, or relax poolside at a cabana while soaking in the ocean views. There are four pools to choose from with waterslides, lava rock lined lazy rivers, waterfalls, and a serene infinity pool. The lush landscape provides privacy at the many hot tubs and creates secluded alcoves for lounge chairs. There’s lots to do close to Honua Kai Resort but you’ll never need to leave if you don’t want to.

The lanai doors fold away to create a seamless indoor/outdoor space between the living room and spacious lanai that truly allows you to appreciate Maui breezes and Hawaiian living.
This property was the best I have stayed at yet! Would go back any day. Condo was extremely well maintained and well located to shopping and other amenities. Would definitely recommend!
My family and I booked this condo for 5 days in October. We were very pleased with our decision in picking this unit. The condo is spacious, clean, and well equipped with all the amenities to make your stay enjoyable. We were happy to have breakfast and watch sunsets on the Lanai. This unit is located away from construction and not directly facing the ocean (which I believe is the better side because you can enjoy the ocean view from the Lanai without baking in the sun.) We went to Duke's for dinner and enjoyed delicious cocktails. The resort pool and hot tub are great and they will serve you drinks from Duke's poolside. The beach directly in front of the resort isn't the best but if you walk down a little bit you can find a great spot where there are less rocks. We went snorkeling at black rock (which was a longer walk than I expected, but definitely doable. You can also drive and try to find parking if you don't want to walk)
The grocery store and ABC store are very close by. Be sure to stop at the Fish Market for lunch/dinner( you will not be disappointed!) We did the Sunrise Bike tour down Mt. Haleakala and the Road to Hana and didn't feel overwhelmed by the drive from the condo. Be sure to visit the cute town of Paia for delicious food (Mana foods, Mama's Fish House, Paia Gelato, Paia Fish Market.) We had a wonderful trip and can't wait to return. We would rebook this condo in the future!
This condo is perfection in everyday. Gorgeous views of the trees from the lanai and a good bit of water too. The other side of the property would possibly get more mtn. view, but there's construction there now. The interior is roomy and has extra comfy beds. The accordion doors to the lanai are wonderful and it feels like the whale room opens to the outside. No other resort has this along this beach. I looked. The pools are lovely and clean. We had extra good service because we went through a company called InvitedHome and they were incredibly prompt and kind and helped us with EVERYTHING. Including beta on the best surf spots. You can't go wrong with this rental.
My family had a fantastic stay. We were greeted upon arrival and had an initial walk thru with the greeter. The location of the property is convenient to everything. Within walking distance is a grocery store and a strip of local restaurants. Whalers Village and Kapalua are only about 10-12 minutes away. For dinner there is also a Duke's only a 5 min walk away. The property itself was clean and perfectly maintained. We enjoyed the luxury of having underground parking. The owners closet is full of beach chairs and gear. We had a wonderful experience.
Bosch refrigerator, stove and dishwasher, granite countertop and individual a/c controls in master. Since it privately operated, you do not get the towel service at the pool, but the condo has beach towels for your, as well as some boogie boards and other water equipment. Wonderful set up and Honua Kai is a great resort!
Well designed and comfortable unit. Well maintained and well supplied. The Honua Kai resort still feels quite new and is a nice property. The view from the unit and the lanai is only OK, with the neighboring condos blocking much of the view. Also, the beach just in front of Honua Kai is mostly reef with a very shallow swimming area. Getting to the nicer beach requires a walk down the boardwalk.
