• 25 minutes to Boone

If you are looking for the quintessential log cabin getaway on your own private creek, look no further than Creekside Escape. Nestled in the woods with frontage along Old Fields Creek, Creekside Escape offers sleeping for 6 with the addition of a sleeping sunroom as well as a loft. The interior of the cabin is cozy yet charming with cathedral ceilings, gas fireplace and unique touches throughout. The well-equipped kitchen and cozy dining area provide everything you need for cooking and eating during your Escape. Relax with a cup of coffee in the morning on the wraparound deck as you take in the sounds of the bold creek just below, or dine al fresco and take in the views of the surrounding woods. Or simply soak and relax in the brand new hot tub - just added. Creekside Escape delivers the pure mountain getaway experience!

Creekside Escape is located just outside of West Jefferson. Area recreation opportunities include fishing, hiking, biking, canoeing, and tubing all minutes away. Attractions near the cabin include the Blue Ridge Parkway, Grandfather Mountain, Mount Jefferson State Park, New River State Park, Blowing Rock, the quaint downtown of West Jefferson and…of course, Tweetsie Railroad! Start the day hiking the Cascade Falls Trail on the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway. After your hike, go for a drive along the Parkway, enjoying the many scenic vistas that characterize America’s most beautiful road. Sample the local goods and harvests at the Ashe County Farmers Market and explore the many Art Galleries and cafes in Downtown West Jefferson. Continue on to Blowing Rock and shop at the many unique shops in this quaint mountain town. Next on the agenda, journey to Grandfather Mountain and a harrowing—but awe-inspiring--walk on the Swinging Bridge and a visit to the natural animal habitat. If there’s time still left in the day (if not, there’s always tomorrow!) visit Thomas the Tank Engine at Tweetsie Railroad or go kayaking or tubing on the New River or bicycling on the flat, scenic road that runs next to it.

Reviewer Comments:

We spent 5 nights at Creekside Escapes on our honeymoon. We were very happy and pleased with the cabin, a lovely mountain getaway! We loved the idea of leaving bird food for the guests to put into the bird feeder. We enjoyed sitting porch watching the birds come in to eat. The property was very neat and clean. The only suggestion I can make is that it may be better to have some lighting walking to the hot tub and around the hot tub itself. It is very dark and hard to see to put the hot tub cover on. Other than that a perfect stay!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the feedback. There was a miscommunication with the cleaning staff on arrival time and this cabin was overlooked. We quickly responded and came up with a solution that the guests were agreeable to and in the end everything worked out. Our goal is to provide excellent service, if at any point before or during your stay you need assistance please reach out to us.

This place was cute, and rustic. Loved hearing the creek as we sat on the porch. I wish there had been another bathroom, but overall, a great place to spend a weekend.

My family of 4 had an amazing 5 day, 4 might stay at this cabin. It was fully stocked, clean, and felt like home. We loved the deck, hot tub, rushing creek and being secluded from the road-yet conveniently close to town . We hope to visit creekside escape again soon!

Creekside Escape was a wonderful place to come back to after exploring Ashe County & Blue Ridge Parkway. Really enjoyed the wonderful, fully equipped cabin with the creek right outside. West Jefferson area is a hidden gem. Wish we had an additional night or two to spend there, maybe another time.

Considering the cabin is just off the road, it is very secluded and quiet. The sound of the creek was very soothing and made for some good sleeping. The property was very clean and well maintained. It's also close to town of West Jefferson and it's many shops.
