Aloha! Hana Hou Cabin-Motel provides an opportunity to relax and enjoy your stay in a small town in rural Hawai'i, on the Big Island. Located adjacent to the Hana Hou Restaurant, you will not have to worry about cooking or searching for a great meal. The cabins are located midway between Kona and Hilo, in the Ka'u District.
Take advantage of staying in a town that is located in the vicinity of various places of interest, which all exude the meaning of, 'Old Hawai'i'. Ka Lae (South Point), The Green Sand Beach and Punalu'u Black Sand Beach, are amongst a few of the unspoiled coastlines here in Ka'u. Sprawling ranch lands, mountain hiking, the famous Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park and the new southern section of Kahuku are only a drive away. Explore lava tubes, snorkel, tour a coffee farm or the volcano winery and buy from the source.
Ka'u is the perfect eco-tourist destination , and the cabin-motel is perfect for an overnight stay when visiting the volcano. Eliminate the long drive back to Kona or Hilo and visit the other sights in Kau the next day.

We are in the middle of the Kau area and close to all the attractions in our country setting. Next to the most delicious cafe in the area with homemade foods and an easy atmosphere. Very affordable and comfortable
Our guests comment that they feel 'like home' and love the beds and the cleanliness and friendly atmosphere with all the personal touches.
I enjoyed my overnight stay @ Pattys cottage. It was super convenient to have the town restaurant right next door literally! It was maybe 100 steps out the cottage door. I stayed in cottage 2. Just right of a space for me. It could comfortably sleep 3, with one halii for another person to sleep on the floor. Thank you Patty!!! If there was one thing I would've liked was an a/c, it was hot during the day!!! Comfortable tropical cool at night though with the ceiling fan on full blast!!!! Aloha and Mahalo, Kathleen
It was very clean and cozy. It suited our needs for a overnighter. The Pau Hana restaurant next door was great.
Patty was very busy but found the time to talk to us and show us the room. The cabin was cute, clean and really comfortable. Loved the queen bed!
Cute cottage! Very well maintained and clean. Our family of 4 stayed in unit 2. It was a little tight but we didn't mind. Patty was very friendly and nice. Easy check in and out. Definitely recommend it if you are in the area!
We had a great stay at Patty's--we arrived late, but arranged for the key to be left for us. Communication was easy and Patty was very friendly. We stayed one night while traveling between Kona and Volcano National Park, then on to Hilo. The cabin was clean and comfortable and we felt instantly at home. We will definitely be back!
Take a ride down the the Southernmost Point in the USA, Ka Lae (South Point). Visit the Green Sand Beach. Cruise on down to the Punalu'u Black Sand Beach and picnic for the day. Stop on by our restaurant and grab a bite to eat and while you're at it, have some dessert from our award-winning bakery, meet many of our friendly residents and very hospitable, restaurant employees.
