Overview

High Country & Blue Ridge Mountains House Rental Photos and Description

4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, 1 half bathroom, sleeps 9

Rivers Edge Lodge is a luxurious and meticulously crafted mountain style home completed in 2010 and has direct frontage on the pristine Watauga River. This beautiful mountain retreat is located in the exclusive 350 acre gated community of Twin Rivers and is centrally located to all that the High Country has to offer. If your idea of paradise is relaxing beside a tranquil river and unwinding to the calming and restorative sights and sounds of nature, welcome to Rivers Edge Lodge.

Unwind inside this impressive and well appointed home, offering 4 bedrooms and 3 ½ baths and sleeping accommodations for 9. Outside the home, activities abound. Take a bike ride or hike through the community’s miles of managed trails along the Watauga and Boone Fork Rivers that connect to the Julian Price Park trail system or visit the many attractions in Boone, Banner Elk and Blowing Rock only minutes away from the home.

Entering the home you will appreciate the elegant and rustic quality with hickory floors, vaulted beamed ceilings, hand crafted wooden trim, 10’ ceilings throughout the main floor and featuring a grand wood burning stone fireplace. The remarkable view of the river is apparent directly ahead. The gourmet in your family will enjoy the kitchen, well equipped with granite counters, island with gas stove and stainless steel appliances. Also on this floor is the beautiful dining room which will seat 6-8.

The master bedroom is an en suite and furnished with a king bed, large screen HDTV and an amazing view of the river. Imagine yourself waking in the morning to the sound of the river and that view! Two other well furnished bedrooms are also located on the first floor and both contain very comfortable memory foam mattresses on Queen beds and large screen HDTV’s. The children will enjoy their own upstairs retreat, furnished with a full bath, full/twin bunk beds, large screen HDTV and an extensive collection of DVDs to keep them entertained. There is also a large laundry room with washer and dryer directly off of the main living area and 2 car garage, where you can kick off your flip flops, river shoes or snow boots. Consider River’s Edge, your “home away from home”, but stay connected with the available high speed wireless internet service.

At the end of your day, take a break by the river at the fire pit and roast marshmallows or relax in the 6 person hot tub positioned right outside the back door with a fantastic view of the river. Or just sit and relax on the large, fully furnished back deck while the cook grills on the outdoor grill.

Beautiful home, great location and lot, river is gorgeous. Having to return to Raleigh's heat was really hard. I will be returning.

perfect, beautiful place for our elopement

  • 5 of 5

We've rented many homes over the years but this was, by far, the nicest. The pictures do not do justice to how beautiful the house is and how great the setting is. I was reluctant to not have a "mountain view" but the view of the trees and river make up for it so nicely. Plus, being so close to the main road makes getting to and from the property a breeze.

We were a group of six - 2 adults, 4 kids. All of us loved the house. The beds were very comfy, the master bath was amazing, the kids loved the hot tub and the adults loved the fire pit. Everything about this house is a step up from the typical rental. This felt like a friend's house. We were used to rentals with cheap linens, worn out appliances and broken down furniture. This house is NOT like that. Very, very nice.

Owner communication was quick and reliable. Would definitely stay here again.

What a fabulous weekend!!

  • 5 of 5

We could not have been more pleased with Rivers Edge Lodge. It was clean, spacious and gorgeous! The pictures do not do it justice. The owner had thought of everything!! There was shampoo, creme rinse, and soap in every bathroom. There was every glass, every dish, every bowl, every pan, every utensil necessary in the kitchen. The furniture, the art work, the light fixtures were so beautiful! There was firewood in the fireplace just waiting to be lit, which we did because the first night was chilly! The back porch was our gathering spot, because the sound of the river, the frogs and the birds was so inviting. You do not need to bring anything to this property but your clothing and the food you wish to prepare.

We enjoyed Gem Mining in Spruce Pine, NC, while we were here. We had to take a trip to the Mast General Store and the Candy Shop, which we do every time we are in this area. The drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway was breathtaking; luckily, the good Lord allowed the weather to cooperate! Lunch outside at The Chalet Restaurant in Little Switzerland, NC, was a real treat. The view while munching on fried green tomatoes and homemade pimento and cheese could not be beat!

It was such a beautiful location and a beautiful home! We would definitely stay here again! Our family really enjoyed the pleasure of staying at Rivers Edge Lodge!

The property was very well maintained, modern, and very neat & clean.

  • 5 of 5

The home and property were all excellent. The home and property were spacious, modern, very well maintained, very clean, with excellent living and outdoor areas for our family of 6 adults & 3 children. There were plenty of things to do, with the ping pong table, kids toys, bikes, scooters, fire pit, river, & yard.

We greatly enjoyed our weekend and really wished we had a couple of more days.

The owner provided excellent help and customer service.

We would highly recommend this property to friends/family.

We went to the Red Onion bistro and it was very good. We ordered from a pizza place which got good reviews, but it wasn't very good, don't remember name.

So relaxing!

  • 4 of 5

We spent four nights at Twin Rivers, and wished we had stayed another four! So peaceful, so relaxing! Love the layout of the home. The beds were super cozy! The loft for the kids was great! Nice kitchen and outdoor grill. We enjoyed the roar of the fire, and the babble of the river just steps off the back porch! We definitely plan to visit this Appalachian gem again!!

Delightful! Elegance w/Warm, Welcoming, Cozy Feel

  • 5 of 5

There really are not enough complimentary words to describe this lovely home! We met with dear friends and family to enjoy a long weekend and do a little snow-tubing. We had a wonderful time. From the moment you walk into this home, you feel welcome. The interior design and attention to detail inside the home is stunning -- open and large -- yet the warmth of colors and furnishings allow you a real feeling of coziness. The view is lovely, with a large covered back porch overlooking the river and a great fire pit. The master suite is truly fit for royalty -- from the beautiful, comfortable bed and furnishings, to the gorgeous marble bathroom. Huge!!! The other two downstairs bedrooms are, of course, smaller and share a bathroom, but are very tastefully decorated with comfortable beds, and more than ample closet space for all your needs. The loft upstairs is large, allows a great deal of privacy and has another full bathroom for the home. The half bath on the lower level is quite lovely as well. The owners were very friendly. It was delightful to see a lot of little thoughtful extras in the home you wouldn't always expect at a vacation rental home provided for you! We are delighted to recommend this home and have already decided we would love the chance to stay again. Many thanks for sharing your home for other to enjoy!
