Guestbook comments from the manager

Driftwood Cottage is a charming cottage that served all our needs. We are normally used to big villas but what made this extra-special was its people. Rob and Pam are outstanding cottage managers and took every effort to make our stay comfortable. We were celebrating our daughter's 30th birthday and Pam went out of her way to get a cake made for the occasion. If I ever had a villa to rent Rob and Pam would be y first choice of people, they are both honest, dependable and great hosts. David and June to owners were also extremely involved in making our stay comfortable in every way. We will return with our extended family. Thank you for this wonderful experience we did not even need the keys to the house. Everyone on the island was just as wonderful as the surrounding cays, grotto and beautiful Pirate's beach.

INCREDIBLE PROPERTY!!

  • 5 of 5

This property is absolutely AMAZING! It was new, clean, and right on its own little beach. If you are looking to rent a house on Staniel Cay this should be your first choice! We absolutely plan on returning!

Fabulous location!

  • 5 of 5

This was a wonderful vacation for our family. We are a family of 5 (mom, dad, 13 yr old girl, 10 yr old boy) plus a 13 yr old best friend (girl). We had plenty of room, great location, super friendly and helpful house managers, Pam and Rob, and a fabulous crew of people suggested to use for boat and golf cart rentals and a guide named Sanchez, whom we now call friend. We were able to go out all day with Sanchez on our rental boat to go snorkeling, visit neighboring places like Big Major (Pig Island), Thunderball Grotto for a 25 foot jump into the water and snorkeling, Compass Cay to swim with the Sharks, and Bitter Guana Island to feed the Iguanas. It was all one big adventure. Island is very safe and very friendly. Renting a guide was the best suggestion. He knew where to take us and how to get around safely. Remember there are shallow places and low tides to consider. Sanchez even took our son spear fishing and came back and cleaned the fish they caught and made us conch salad with the conch he dove down to get. It was just an amazing experience. One drawback is the expense of everything there. The house rental is reasonable, but bring plenty of cash, as there are NO banks or ATM's and only 2 places that took visa/MasterCard that we saw, but this was expected and we were aware so were prepared. Would definitely go back over and over though! We've been to a lot of islands over the years and this was by far the most exciting and fabulous location ever!! Hats off to Driftwood! We look forward to our next visit and we just got home last night!

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Driftwood for 8 nights with our 3 girls ages 14,8.6 and found Driftwood perfect for our family.Once we arrived via Flamingo Air Rob and Pam were there to pick us and our luggage up for the short ride to the house. The house is very clean, spacious and well taken care of.We found having a private beach and a boat dock in the front yard to be quiet useful and fun for the kids, there is also a fantastic private beach just up the hill behind the house that we used many days of our stay which has fantastic views of the Atlantic. We rented a boat for the week from Nikki Ferguson to explore neighboring Cays,Pig Island,Grotto,Sandy Cay,Iguana Island and Rob was very helpful with providing maps, weather reports and routes. The island itself is a unspoiled jewel and the people are beautiful, friendly and treat you like family.I highly recommend Driftwood,Rob and Pam will ensure you have a great stay.I miss it already!

This is the best place to stay on the Island

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking at any other properties on the island, stop and book this one. Seriously! The house is perfect and Pam and Rob (the managers) are even Better. They were the perfect hosts and I challenge you to find better service anywhere. Thanks for making our holiday, we are going to struggle to match this experience.

Fabulous - Picture Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

First trip to Staniel Cay to celebrate our 20th anniversary with another couple we've known since high school and it couldn't have been better! Driftwood was perfect for us from the location, to the layout of the house, to the owners & caretakers. David & June Rosen (owners) are great ambassadors for the island, full of helpful information & tips, and aim to make your vacation wonderful. Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Pam as she was on "holiday" but Rob came back mid-week & he was super friendly & helpful as well. We hired Sanchez as our guide on the first day we had the boat (a must to rent a boat!) and he did a great job of showing us how to navigate the area and all the "hot spots" - I highly recommend him!

The house was as pictured/described. Only issues - dishwasher is "iffy", not attached to the wall maybe & rocks forward & back - and the house got warm at night, the a/c may have been on a program? Otherwise great & very clean and maintained.

We cooked breakfast every morning (we brought in some of our own meat via cargo on Watermakers) & made most of our lunches for the boat. A trip to Lorraine's on Black Point for lunch is recommended (get the conch) and we ate dinner at Taste & Sea, Yacht Club, & even tried the "sous" at Big Dog's.

We can't wait to go back! Thanks David, June, Rob & Sanchez - a great time was had by all!
