I rescued this little dog in the picture from Hurricane Katrina, his name was Schmooy. He was 13 at the time , I promised him he would never have to live through a hurricane again so I bought this cabin to make sure he would always feel safe from Hurricanes. He passed in 2009 and is buried on the property of the cabin. The cabin represents safety from the storm for this little guy and It will always be his home forever. After he passed I became more involved in animal rescue and today I have 4 dogs and two African Pigmy pot belly pigs that always travel with me to the cabin when ever I stay there. This is their vacation home, I just drive them to it.
Tom Emundi purchased this cabin in 2005
This cabin has been designed with love for nature and animals. The fenced yard allows you to enjoy your stay and let your dog play is safety. I personally have dogs and everything I do is designed around their safety and comfort.
The gated drive makes you more secure from unwanted visitors and with the electronic eye on the drive way a alert will let you know when something may be wandering up your driveway.
We really enjoyed our stay at your wonderful cabin. I think my black lab enjoyed himself more than we did. Thanks again for allowing us to spend a wonderful vacation at Rosemount Manor.
We are already talking about planning for next year. Take Care and God Bless!!!!

Took our three dogs here for 10 days. Cabin is a spacious two bedroom, well equipped (appliances, DirecTV and high-speed internet). More than enough kitchen stuff to get the meals cooked and a good gas grill for outdoor cooking. Completely fenced yard plus screened in porch (with great views) as well as a nice deck. The driveway is steep, but I was able to get a vehicle with very low clearance up it with no problems, wouldn't worry with a sedan or SUV. Murphy NC is nearby and has some great dining and shopping options.
Tom's as attentive an owner as we've ever had on VRBO. Highly recommend this cabin.
Great cabin, exactly as described. Tom called to check in and was really nice. The cabin was so great and the teenagers and dogs loved it! Only comment was that the master bed was too soft and the other bed was too hard. We took the mattress pad off the master and put it on the other bed and that helped balance it out a little. Other than that, everything was perfect :) Thanks again, Tom!
Beautiful cabin, very well stocked, super security and set up for our dog, who had a blast here. Owner has a huge heart and goes the extra mile at every turn to ensure a wonderful experience. Highly recommend this property, especially for those, like myself, who travel with their 4 legged babies.
We stayed with our Labs, Patrick and Sollie Boone. They loved the fenced yard, while we enjoyed the beautiful views from the deck. The cabin is comfortable and well-appointed, the screened porch offers a beautiful view of Mary King Mountain. We had an awesome mountain thunderstorm on our last night at Rosemount, the power went out, and we enjoyed the sound and variations of rain that evening!
Easy to get to lots of mountain attractions, trails, and shopping from our gated hideaway.
The kitchen was great as we enjoyed local produce in preparing our meals.
We highly recommend this cabin, especially to those who travel and vacation with their furry family members!
We just spent 4 nights at Rosemount Manor - my wife, my two sons (16 and 18), myself, and our dog. It was fantastic.
The cabin is very nice. I think my favorite part is the massive screened in back deck. HUGE. And it's completely screened in, even the underneath. In four nights of playing cards to the wee hours, we didn't deal with a single bug. We even saw deer wandering through outside the fenced in yard.
The bedrooms, especially the master, are very comfortable. In the guest bedroom, there's a loft with a pull down ladder. It might not be every adult's cup of tea (especially if you get up a couple times a night to use the restroom), but my sons thought it was cool.
The yard is a dog's dream. It's large and basically built onto the side of a hill. Best of all, it's completely fenced in. I walked the perimeter. I don't know how any dog could escape. You're on a mountain, so tunneling isn't an easy option. And the fence is high. Bottom line is that I think you could leave any dog(s) out there to play without any worries of them wandering off.
The location is great. There are a few short trails you for evening walks that you can access right from the property. My wife's favorite was one that went to the road, where thousands of fireflies would then leave their bushes as you walked by. You are also pretty close - 7 or 8 miles - from Murphy, which is a great little town. There's some really nice restaurants. Or if you want to do your own cooking back at Rosemount, there's a Wal-mart Supercenter and Ingles. That's what we did. Rosemount has a nice gas/sear grill. We did our own steaks, pizza, chicken and rice... all cooking at Rosemount.
It's a great area for boating. We both kayaked and rented a pontoon on Lake Hiawassee, about 20 minutes from Rosemount. Great times.
Bottom line is this is a great place for a family getaway, especially if you have a dog or dogs you want to bring along. Tom is extremely hospitable. I thank him for opening this home!
The cabin was very clean and pleasant. The bed was very comfortable. The dog run was fine for my dog. The road was hard to get up even with my awd suv. There wasn't much of a view. All and all the cabin was pleasant and clean. Thank you for letting us stay there.
