Keywords: 3634 Saddle Road, fantastic 2000 square feet, four bedroom, two bath, completely newly remodeled Tahoe ski rental cabin, mountain views, located right at the top of Ski Run Blvd. Two private bedrooms and living area downstairs with two huge bedrooms upstairs. Granite counters throughout, new appliances, new floors, new fixtures, new bedding, new carpet and new furniture. Completely rennovated top to bottom. Certain to not disappoint!!
We stayed there with 2 other families also with small children during Presidents' weekend, and it accommodated us perfectly, even with extra space. We were 6 adults, 4 toddlers, and 2 babies, and there was more than enough room. The rental listing was spot on, and what attracted me most to this rental was the close proximity to Heavenly. It said it was a block from the resort (California lodge), a 10 minute walk, and it seriously was just down the street. The cabin was a good size for us all - the upstairs' bedrooms were huge (as another reviewer also described), and the living room was quaint, but adequate enough for us where we could keep an eye on our children, still with some space to play.
The kitchen was modern even with a Keurig, and K-cups were already provided. There was a bunch of stuff (spices, condiments, even alcohol in the freezer) which we assumed were left by previous renters. Very convenient, although, check the expiration on some of those things before using...
The rental had everything from board games to bakeware to extra snow boots in the closets to sleds and even a snowboard in the garage for you to use, which are extra, much appreciated amenities. We did run out of toilet paper and paper towels toward the end, but Safeway is a 6 minute drive away and the casino is 4 minutes, so not that big of a deal...
The other extra that we overly enjoyed was the backyard. Our kids LOVED sledding down its hill. There is a HUGE hill right beside the house on the other side of the fence which has signs prohibiting sledding, snowboarding, and skiing, but tons of people, and I don't know how they know, come by to sled down that hill. A park ranger did come out one of the days with his bullhorn escorting people off the hill - it was entertaining, but we were having fun in our own private yard...
Nick, the homeowner, was quick to respond to my emails/inquiries which obviously is a plus, especially if you need to get a hold of him for some reason or another during your stay (he was fortunate we didn't need to call).
Overall - the house was excellent, the service was great, the amenities were more than expected, the location was superb, and we would (WILL) definitely stay again - especially for the rate. :) Thanks!!!
We had a large group of 10 stay over new years, and this cabin was perfect. The cabin consists of a comfy living room with TV and fireplace, a modern kitchen with plenty of pots/pans/supplies and dishwasher. The dining table seats about 7-8. Checkin/checkout was a breeze.
Cabin is about a 5-10 minute walk to the California lodge of Heavenly. Very convenient since our group was split doing a number of activities each day, didn't have to worry about logistics. Driving to the cabin is very easy, garage/driveway accommodates 4 cars.
It was in the teens the whole week, but the cabin has an excellent heating system, though some parts of the home get warmer than others.
Overall everyone had a great time and loved the place - the cabin is very cozy and convenient. Only thing missing was a hot tub!
We had a wonderful time in Tahoe. One of our best family vacations. The house was perfect with a great location to the slopes. Close to everything including restaurants, shops, grocery stores, hiking, but yet out of the way to enjoy some beautiful surroundings. The owner was great and willing to help with anything. Highly reccommend this property.
Great place, just as described. It's a cozy home, with a modern kitchen, just a few minutes from Heavenly. We stayed here with 2 families, look forward to coming again next winter!
Just stayed for a week with two families. Layout was perfect and roomy, upstairs bedrooms are huge and sleep plenty with four beds in one room and two in another. Kitchen was stocked with everything you could ask for to cook in and avoid eating out every day. Short two blocks to Heavenly CA made skiing easy and rentals just down the road. Overall a great location and cozy, easy to use cabin.
Nick's property was exactly as described. I was so relieved to find his descriptions of the house to actually be true! We had 8 adults and my 3 year old nephew (first time in the snow) and were completely comfortable in the space. All of the sleeping arrangements were as described and very comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked, literally had all the little things that you 1) either forget to bring from home or 2) don't want to buy at the store..ie, salt, pepper, oil.
The location is great, it's so easy to get anywhere within a few minutes. The house is walking distance to Heavenly Ski Resort and Hansen's sledding/tubing.
If you are considering this property I would recommend going for it. It's fantastic and Nick was very easy to deal with.
