About Bill or Jennifer Lewis
This cottage was purchased by my grandparents in 1976. At that time, the entire Association were small summer only, un-heated cottages, and owner occupied. Gradually, the neighborhood began to change - as cottages sold, they were leveled, and larger, yearound homes were built. The remaining cottages gradually became mostly rentals. My grandparents passed in early 2000's, and I inherited the cottage. At that time, my grandfather had added heat, but beyond that, the cottage had remained the same since he purchased it.

Why Bill or Jennifer Lewis chose Clinton
In tribute to my grandparents, over the course of many weekends, and many years, slowly, I began to remodel it. It was gutted to the studs, all structural issues were addressed, but it became overwhelming, and so in 2009, with the house about half remodeled, new windows, framing, new roof, new doors, etc., I was losing too much time with my family, and especially my two young daughters, so I hired a contractor to take over the job. Some of the changes we made were to add the covered front porch addition, make the main room a cathedral ceiling, move the bathroom from between the bedrooms to a converted three season porch, allowing us to enlarge the bedrooms and closet space. They we re-did all new lighting, cabinets, fixtures, appliances, floorings, foam insulation, new plumbing and electrical - you name it. What we didn't do, and this was very important to me, was tear it down and build a big house on these modestly sized property lots. I wanted to preserve the character of the neighborhood, and keep the cottage as it was when I was growing up and going there weekends with my parents and grandparents, with updated amenities and design. I did not want to be a part of the gentrification of the neighborhood. So as a loving tribute to my grandparents, I kept the general character of the cottage, and just brought it into the 21st century. I think and hope that they would be proud of the work I have done to preserve the legacy of this place in our family.
What makes this Cottage unique
Hardwood floors, heated tile flooring in bathroom, on-site washer and dryer, dishwasher, HD television, fast internet connection, open or covered outdoor seating, walk to the beach and way out onto the sandbar flats of the cove when the tide goes out. It's all basically new, fresh, clean, and even has central air conditioning for those hot summer days.

Will not return to this property
This was our first experience with Homeaway. We spent our first day doing laundry left undone, and rewashing the bed linens because we found hairs in them. When I discussed this with the owner, she apologized and said she would give us a $50 credit. She never did that, thus, the bad review.
Hi, Cynthia. I'm sorry to hear your feedback -
I wish that you had reached out. As you can see from our 5-star reviews, we pride ourselves on the cleanliness of our cottage. Last summer, we used a different (expensive!) cleaning service for two weeks. Once I heard from you, we terminated their contract. I know we spoke on the phone and exchanged texts, and I thought I had issued the credit. I don't see it on Homeaway and have just re-sent. Please accept my apologies for the oversight, and Happy Holidays!
Cute, clean, updated little cottage
This is a great cottage for a family of four with a short walk to the beach. There is a huge sandbar at low tide that is perfect for the little ones. The cottage is updated and very clean and has a nice gas grill out back.
We stayed July 15th through the 22nd of 2017. The weather turned out to be wonderful. The house is fabulous. All the comforts of home. Beautifully redone and only minutes from the beach. Definitely would stay again and will encourage other friends to take look.
A beautiful vacation facility
We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, well maintained property. It was a real pleasure to spend our time here with a very private association beach.
Cute 2 bedroom with central air.
Lovely time down the street and you are at the beach! Clean & cute! Thinking of going back next year. Lovely porch out front enjoyed having coffee and watching people.
Very nice. Beautifully decorated. Comfortable and peaceful.... great place to relax and enjoy.
