We enjoyed our stay at this home on Lake Oconee. The house is well furnished and nicely appointed, with everything necessary for home cooked meals. The view of the lake has to be one of the best available....it is mesmerizing at the least. We fished off the dock and caught catfish and bream, while having a wonderful view of the lake, as well as the birds, squirrels and occasional beaver. The location is also convenient for visiting Madison, Greensboro, and the Oconee shopping and dining areas. Overall, we had a very nice stay.
Our family of 6 spent a few days away from the hot Fl days, and came to spend the new year with my son, who resides in Greensboro. The clean space in the house was perfect for me and my two daughters and their husbands. We had all the kitchen essentials needed for meals handy. We especially enjoyed the ample size living and dinning rooms, where much time was spent playing Rummikub and just chatting. The lake view is truly spectacular and relaxing! The nearby cinema and a shopping jaunt to downtown Greensboro was a great addition to our vacation. We enjoyed our stay, would recommended to a friend, and return ourselves. Great house----great location!
Very near Reynolds Plantation. A couple of small problems were resolved with a phone call. Great furnishings. Highly recommended.
Had a great time. We weren't at the place a lot as we were at Georgia football game. Home is roomy.
I would update TV in living room. Very snowy. Other than that, great place to enjoy what Georgia has to offer.
We visited lake Oconee on a last minute plan to escape hurricane Matthew. The property was as advertised. The view from the porch or the dock out back is second to none. The house sits on the east side of the lake, so sunsets are especially nice. We found the house to be well appointed, with everything in working order. Any questions we had were quickly answered by the owner. There is no wifi available, but for us this was not a problem as we had excellent reception of our AT&T service. The water off the West side of the dock was 10-12 ft (with the lake being down 2 ft.), so plenty deep enough for the kids to swim, jump, and even dive.
If you are planning on bringing a boat, there are several ramps nearby, with the Redlands Boat Ramp being the most convenient (only about 4 miles away and open 24/7 with 3 well cared for ramps). Parks Ferry is actually closer, but is seasonal and not open 24/7. Neither of these ramps have a marina with a fuel dock. The closest on water marina with fuel is Blue Springs Marina (7 minutes by boat), to the North. If you are headed down lake, use the Sugar Creek marina. They have an excellent bait and tackle shop as well. We brought a 20 ft dual console, and found keeping it at the house very convenient. The long driveway is an added bonus, as it allows plenty of room to store a trailer. The dock has two very secure cleats on the south pier. Do note, the dock is not in a no wake area, and plenty of boats pass by pretty close to the dock. We used fenders, but it's hard to protect the boat with the pier being a good ways off the water. It really was not much of a problem since there was not a lot of boat traffic this time of year. However, my suggestion to the owners would be to install some protective coping on the edge of that South pier to help protect boats that are tied up in the water.
Thank you for making our first visit to Lake Oconee a great experience. We look forward to visiting again in the near future.
