What a great getaway for the adults and the kids. The cabin was clean and had amazing views. I would recommend it to all of my family and friends.
Great location with a beautiful view. Cabin was gorgeous. Great for entertaining. Only complaint is no common area bathroom. I suggest you bring toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher detergent, had to go shopping for these items after the first day. But the owners were accommodating with items to make smores, and bedding/towels were very nice.
"Kindred Spirits" is a beautiful facility with gorgeous views. It is clean and well-maintained, and all the features it listed were first class. Our hosts were there to welcome us and check us out on all the features and provided a basket of fresh organic fruit. We hosted a family get-together with our children and grandchildren. The pool was a special hit for the grandkids visiting from Ireland, who don't get a lot of swimming time at home. Of course, Great Smoky Mountains NP is right next door, and we hiked and drove several of the trails and roads. This would be a perfect getaway for four couples since each of the bedrooms has its own bath. But these are the only bathrooms, and that did lead to some problems, since those sleeping in the loft had to use those bathrooms too, sometimes in the middle of the night. The only other flaw was the size of the kitchen. Again, that probably wouldn't be a problem for a quartet of couples who might be eating in town at least some nights. But we ate all our breakfasts and dinners in, and things got a bit tight when cooking for a large group.
We stayed here at the end of July with my children and my parents. The owners were fantastic and met us in town. They took us up and went over everything with us-which was much appreciated. The kids loved the pool and we spent almost every day swimming. My parents were amazed by the incredible views. The cabin is beautiful, plenty of space and very well stocked. My mom forgot some of her medicines at the cabin and my daughter forgot a prized stuffed animal. Freda was very sweet and took the time not only to notify us, but to overnight us the items. Can't say enough good things about this property and owners.
My friends and I rented "Kindred Spirits" this past weekend and had an absolutely wonderful time. As the incredibly nice and welcoming owners(Randy and Freda) took us through the home and I saw the absolutely incredible view of the mountains I already knew a lot of my weekend would just be sitting on the balcony mesmerized by it.
The cabin itself is absolutely huge and slept our large party very nicely. I would say some rentals I've been to in the past have been a little off when they say it "sleeps 16 comfortably" but I would say Kindred Spirits absolutely can which is great. The beds were very comfortable. I even always pack a Pillow and blanket when staying anywhere in case the pillows aren't comfortable but this was not the case. Everything was very nice and high quality.
As far as amenities go this rental had several that made it a far better pick than any other that was around. Many places have a hot tub(as does kindred spirits) however this place even has its own pool! My friends and I enjoyed this very much The TV on the lower level is a very good size for relaxing after a day of hiking with one of their many DVDs. The kitchen also had pretty much every appliance and tool one could possibly need I think.
The location is great as it seems to be right in the middle of pigeon forge and the main Gatlinburg strip. So if you wanted to check anything out in those areas they're just a quick drive.
To me after looking at many many many places to try and pick the very best option available I can't have imagined a better place. Great for family vacations, friends vacations, and really anyone with a bigger group looking to have a fun and comfortable stay in this area.
Thanks so much to the owners and do yourself a favor and stay at Kindred Spirits!
I'm late to write this review but that absolutely doesn't reflect on how great of a time we had at this home. The house is spotless with all of the amenities you could think of and ask for. The pool is great - a little chilly for me, but the kids LOVED it! The hot tub (more my speed) was also wonderful. And what really takes your breath away is the spectacular views! The pictures in the listing do not lie. The location was great as well as just a short drive down the mountain to get into Gatlinburg and to the park. There was six of us in the house - 4 adults and two young girls (ages 7 and 10) and all had a great time. If we're ever in the area again we will 100% stay here!!! And I almost forgot to mention Freda! Just a wonderful woman who so warmly welcomed us into her home and even had gifts for the girls which they were thrilled about. Thank you again Freda and Randy for sharing your home with us!!!
