About Madelyn Uresti

My husband and I feel in love with the Buda community twelve years ago. Just one exit outside of Austin, you can go back in time while walking down Main Street with great restaurants, shops, old fashioned drug store and soda fountain. and antique shops. Friday night high school football games are still big, here in Buda!

Why Madelyn Uresti chose Buda

We loved the wildlife, Onion Creek and the beautiful hill country setting.

What makes this lodge unique

Enjoy the Texas sunsets, throw the football, baseball, or play volleyball on the ten acres that surrounding the Lodge. Local wineries are within 7 miles. The Salt Lick restaurant and the San Marcos outlet mall are all within approximately 10-15 minutes away .Austin is approximately 15 minutes away, New Braunfels and San Antonion are about 30-45 minutes away. Fabulous location!

Beautiful, comfortable and relaxing.

  • 5 of 5

Ruby Ranch Lodge was beautiful. It was set in a beautiful, private area. The rooms were dated, but clean and comfortable. The large kitchen made it possible to cook for the 19 people who stayed there. We had several children and they had a ball playing outside and running up and down the halls.

We used the reception center attached to the lodge for a wedding reception. It was large enough to accommodate over 100 people. The only drawback was the the air conditioning in the reception center did not work very well. The air conditioning worked great in the rest of the lodge. It was not easy finding a place that would accommodate so much family and then a wedding reception also. It was perfect for our needs.

Madelyn and her crew were amazing and very helpful.

Ruby Ranch Lodge in Buda is Perfect for Family Gatherings and Making Wonderful Memories!

  • 5 of 5

Ruby Ranch provided the perfect location for extended family to gather for our son’s wedding and the ideal venue in which to host the rehearsal dinner for 90 people! The property is beautiful and the lodge was very comfortable for all of our guests. The rockers on the front porch were enjoyed by all and the indoor & outdoor seating options allowed many ways to for friends and family to come together. The professional kitchen served as a central gathering point—the heart of the lodge—and allowed us to prepare and serve delicious home-cooked meals. The property owner, Madelyn, helped us ensure our vision for the weekend was fully realized. She was a helpful partner in the planning process and a responsive and caring hostess. Our stay at Ruby Ranch surpassed our expectations and created wonderful memories that will last a lifetime! We are grateful to Madelyn and her team for an outstanding stay and highly recommend Ruby Ranch Lodge and Wedding Event Center!

Great for sports teams!

  • 4 of 5

We took our Track and Field team from Louisiana to stay at Ruby Ranch Lodge for our meets both at UT as well as Texas State in San Marcos. We were able to treat the trip as both a retreat for team bonding as well as compete! It was a beautiful space with lots and lots of room for the student-athletes to study, relax and get ready for competition. We fit comfortably with a group of 25 of us! Madelyn was an amazing hostess who was able to meet us late at night to give us a tour and show us around. That spoke volumes to us that she was able to come and do that. We felt right at home and will definitely be back to stay at the Lodge again when we compete in Austin and San Marcos next year. We recommend this Lodge to any athletic teams or youth groups that need a place to stay or a place to retreat to!

A little slice of Hill Country Heaven!

  • 5 of 5

We had our wedding reception at the Ruby Ranch 5years ago, and come back here as often as we can! The Ruby Ranch is nestled in the Hill Country on acreage hidden and untouched by all the development. It is a beautiful little place with plenty of room to roam. I first have to say Madelyn, the hostess is more than a hostess. I am honored to have gotten to know her and to call her a friend! She is always so accommodating and helpful. As you can see there are lots of rooms so it is perfect for a reception or family reunion. We also come back here now with our family and friends to just unplug, sit on the porch and take it all in. Here at the Ruby Ranch you can get away from the hustle and bustle but still be close enough to enjoy lots of attractions. Go out to eat at some the great local eateries or as we like to do, prepare meals in the lodges fully stocked kitchen or cook outside on the beautiful grounds on their grill! Don't miss out on this gem!

A Great place for Family Reunion!

  • 5 of 5

We have rented Ruby Ranch Lodge for the past two years for our family reunion. Everyone had a relaxing and rejuvenating time in this beautiful property. Madelyn was an ideal hostess/landlord- met us upon arrival, ensured we had everything we needed. The house is set up very well, with everything you may need. Anything that crossed our minds, we found it. The front porch, rockers and chairs, were a fantastic area to watch all animal life! Can't wait for 2015 reunion!

Beautiful Country Setting

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed here several days and loved the lodge! The kitchen was spacious, clean and wonderful for preparing meals. All of the rooms and beds were comfy. In the evening, we enjoyed sitting out on the porch and watching the sunset through the trees. It was beautiful. There was plenty of room for my kids to run and play in this quiet, country setting. Very peaceful. I would definitely stay again!
