About Michael Ulrich

We purchased this home several years ago. It was orignially intended for my mothers retirement. We completely refurbished the home, but kept its original charm. She could not relocate so we completely stocked and furnished the home, and use it as a vacation rental. My wife is a social worker and I teach. We use the home several times a year when we return to Florida to relax and unwind. We enjoy it and we feel that you will to. We are pet lovers and we understand many people travel with there pets, thats why the large fenced back yard.

Michael Ulrich purchased this house in 2005

Why Michael Ulrich chose Central Florida

We purchased this home because it was a nice quiet area, close to Disney, and Lego land. It is centrally loacted and you can go just about anywhere from this area. There is a lake 1/2 block away for boating or fishing, a park and walking trail 5 minutes away. We like to walk our dog around the lake in the evenings. It is a very large and charming home.

What makes this house unique

While staying here, you can barbque on the front patio, dine outside and enjoy the warm nights, walk along the lake and enjoy the moonlight reflecting off the lake water. Durring the day you can go to lego land, or Disney, maybe just walk into town and have lunch at one the restraunts nearby.

Nice old house on the lake

  • 4 of 5

My family really enjoyed our stay at this property. Very quiet neighborhood, just a short walk to the lake. Older house but great for family of 4 - 6. Hope it's available when we return December...

Did the job, but needs some updates

  • 2 of 5

This home was exactly what we needed for proximity to Legoland and separate rooms for two young children. Much more spacious than expected. Private back yard perfect for our 35 lb dog. Nice to be able to do laundry before going home.

Unfortunately, the home is in need of some updates/repairs.

Ants in the kitchen & ant bait on the window sill to indicate this is an ongoing problem; had to keep all food on dining room table.

TV sets were circa 2000 and Master Bedroom TV had a busted speaker.

Master bed was rock hard - felt like we slept on bricks.

All furniture felt as though picked off side of the road - seemed like all beds had something broken or rigged and nothing matched.

Doors & frames appeared to have been broken into at some point. Back doors had chains which could have easily been kicked in. Thankful owner provided security alarm, which we used.

Floors were creaky and totally uneven. Master bath had a loose tile on the floor. Carpet could use a serious vacuum and cleaning.

Needed help of Hulk to turn hot water handle of spare bathroom sink.

Old washer & dryer - was glad I checked on the dryer ... my clothes started to smell overheated.

Provided WIFI information which we never could get to work.

Bedroom fans only had one bulb screwed in each.

I really wanted to love this place, but, probably won't return to this home for future visits.

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

This is a 1920's type single family home. It is old but in good condition! It is obvious the owner is continually improving the home. The kitchen n both baths are remodeled n quite nice. Two of the 3 bedrooms are oversized w/plenty of room for luggage, etc. the living n dining rooms are very large w/plenty of seating, room to play games, etc. the kitchen is very well equipped n there are lots of towels for the baths, extra blankets, etc. we were allowed to bring our dog (a 95lb Labrador) who we do not allow on furniture. There was plenty of room to set up the large dog crate n he loved the backyard which is good sized n privacy fenced meaning the dog could be off leash. The home is very close to Lake Howard n Lake Canon n we took lovely walks w/our dog. There are LOTS of restaurants within a few miles n two grocery stores (Winn Dixie n Publix). We were not there for a vacation but the house is great no matter your purpose. Would definitely rent again!

Worn But A Nice Stay At A Reasonable Price

  • 4 of 5

We normally stay in timeshares and hotels, and there are tradeoffs with a rental house. While not perfect, this was a good stay and the price was reasonable. While it looks small from the road, this is a quite spacious house. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms, plenty of room in the kitchen, dining room and living room, and a very nice laundry room. The yard and house could really use some TLC. The yard is almost entirely weeds, and the walls could use paint. Many of the electrical plugs in the house didn't work. There is a mess of wires around the TV in the living room.

While the house was FAR better stocked than almost anywhere else we've ever stayed (tons of plates, silverwear, glasses, spices, laundry detergent, bleach, towels, utensils, bowls, pots, pans, etc.), there were a couple small oversights. The icemaker in the fridge didn't work, and there were no ice trays to manually make ice. The grill brush was worn to the handle and the LP tank ran out on our second day there, so we couldn't grill the rest of the stay.

The listing claims that Legoland is less than 10 minutes away, but it's more like 15 to 20 minutes.

While the listing claims that it's comfortable for up to 6, I'm not sure I would recommend more than 4 or 5. If I remember right, the two larger bedrooms have queen beds and the smaller one has a full. The beds were comfortable.

For the price, it was pretty much what we expected.

Comfy old house

  • 4 of 5

Though an old house, this is a large house and is well furnished with what one would want in a short term rental. The bed we slept in was quite comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. We would definitely rent this home again.
