Just spent a week in this condo and had a wonderful time. This unit is a true walkout onto the beach. It was recently updated and was very comfortable. The bay water is fairly quiet so we could snorkel and kayak easily from our beach and there is coral literally within walking distance of shore. The town of Red Hook is just minutes away with enough bars/grills/restaurants to keep you satisfied for your visit. Although we also really enjoyed the beachside bar/grill. It was nice to lounge on the beach and have a waitress come by to take our order for drinks/sandwiches. It felt very indulgent. Red Hook is also the location of the passenger and car ferries to St. Johns for convenient day trips to another amazing island.
My wife and I stayed for a week, the condo is great, the beach is awesome. We really liked the location, Red Hook is a lot of fun, close to St John ferry. We would plan our next trip around staying here again.
Right on the beach - can't beat location as Sapphire is a great beach. Can get a little busy on days with lots of cruise ships but the passengers mostly stay down the other end of the beach.
Great little ground floor apartment with access directly on the beach. Owners kindly left cool box and mask and fins, there is couple of sun loungers to use too.
Very small niggles were cooking is tricky - I would say have brekkie and possibly lunch/sandwiches here and nip out to red hook for dinner (but hey your on holiday right!). AC was a little underpowered but fine for us.
Major thing really was there was pumping going on 24/7 in the car park directly behind the apartment for the whole time we were there which did kind of spoil the relaxing vibe - that took our rating the apartment from 4 stars to 3 stars unfortunately.
Saying that I would definitely book again - Owner is really helpful and responds quickly.
Just returned from a wonderful vacation on Sapphire Beach!! We wanted peace and quiet as well as sun and relaxation. That we got!! The condo was as described in the pictures and reviews. Chuy was a pleasure to work with while making our reservation. He was kind enough to answer all of our questions in a speedy manner. The condo was clean and cozy. The appliances all worked well and the large screen TV was perfect to watch The Open Golf Championship. The beach and views are awesome ! For seven days there were no more than 50 people on the beach at one time. A few days maybe less than 20. Plenty of shade if you get too hot. We saw no need to rent a car. There was always a taxi out front and the price was cheap. We Had provisions such as beer ,wine, soft drinks and snacks delivered by Fresh Foods Vi .com which really worked out well for us. If you want to save some money take some provisions for dinner via cooler. We ate out three times in Red Hook. Fish Tails was good. Try the lobster! Go shopping on days when there are no cruise ships in port. Also, well worth spending a day at the beach in St. John. Remember that you are not staying at an all inclusive 5 star resort. You will pay for bath towel service as well as cleaning service. We washed our towels at the Marina laundry and cleaned house to save money. Worked well for us. Beach towel service is free and Chuy has two beach chairs that you get to use. I picked up snorkel gear my first day at the front desk and returned it at check out. Overall, we had a 5 star experience. Thanks again Chuy for allowing us to stay and experience your home away from home....
I have stayed at 2 other condos on this property, this condo by far exceeds all the others. I took my 2 teenagers here and there was plenty of room for the three of us. The kitchen and Bathroom were recently renovated. We were able to have breakfast and lunch everyday in the condo. It was great to have a dishwasher. We also ordered sandwiches on the beach that were absolutely delicious. The condo is beach level and building B is the best location between the beach and the pool. Pool chairs were included, just tell them your unit number and tips were very much appreciated. We were also able to get snorkel gear and towels at the office for the week. We love The fresh market in Red Hook for food. A little pricey but great selections. Tap and Still has great Burgers and many beers. We also love Pesce we have been 4 times, fantastic Italian food. We did rent a car to get around. You get pretty good at driving on the left after a day or two. Took the ferry to St. John. Trunk Bay is a must!!! Chuy is so great to deal with. He responded quickly to all my emails and was very helpful. Great unit to rent. Thanks again Chuy for sharing your awesome condo with us!!!
This condo was fantastic! Kitchen and bathroom have been renovated, so it is a lot nicer than some of the other condos in this complex. We rented three condos for a family event, so two parents and two kids stayed in this one. The kitchen has lots of counterspace, an oven, and a small dishwasher; the location toward the end of the B building was very convenient, and in my opinion, had the absolute best views in the resort! Some snorkeling gear was available for us to use, which was great because Sapphire Beach is a prime location for snorkeling on St. Thomas. The biggest bonus of this condo is that it's a first-floor unit with direct access to the beach. The kids ran around all vacation--into the ocean, back to the condos, throwing a ball on the beach, to the pool--such a great trip! Furthermore, the beach is not crowded and the resort is quite safe. There is a small cabana for breakfast and lunch (good food), and servers will bring it right to you on the beach if you want. The water is warm and lovely and the views are breathtaking. Loved it! Try renting jetskis in the marina on site--the owner/operator is great! Red Hook is a 5-minute drive (or bus ride) away. We finally got our rental cars for shopping and getting around the island, but be forewarned--if you arrive at night and aren't familiar with St. Thomas (they drive on the left and roads are very narrow, steep, and curvy), take a cab to the resort and rent a car the next day. I will totally go back to Sapphire Beach!! Thanks Chuy, for sharing your fantastic condo with us!!
