Summer in South Haven!
This condo is within walking distance to everything in South Haven. For those guests that are staying for a week or more, it’s also a great home location spot that lets you visit other towns and beaches along Lake Michigan like Saugatuck, Douglas, Holland, and Grand Haven. The indoor pool is open year round.
Located on Black River Street, Harborside is just two blocks from the bridge and Stanley Johnston Memorial Park–where the art shows are held. The property has a large yard that is perfect for outdoor activities, an indoor swimming pool and hot tub, and a large outdoor sunning and picnic deck.
From the private condo deck you’ll get a view of the Black River launch, letting you combine your morning coffee with some people watching. A ten minute walk to town puts you in the heart of shops, restaurants, a movie theater, bike and kayak rentals, boat and fishing excursions and the South Haven Marina. Several night spots feature live music and fantastic views.
During the summer, there is a Saturday farmer’s market at the downtown pavilion. There are also several public beaches a ten minute walk from the condo. Festivals, concerts, art fairs and Lake Michigan sunsets on the pier–all are an easy walk away.

I am a graphic designer and creative person that has worked in advertising for many years. I have my own design agency and also like to paint as a hobby.
I have always wanted to get into vacation rentals and eventually I did just that. This is my fourth season renting the condo out in South Haven and I enjoy it. I don't always get to meet guests, but it's satisfying to hear the positive feedback after their stay is over.
Connie purchased this condo in 2008
This is a really great location in South Haven that's close to everything. You can walk to the beaches, the marina, downtown or along the Black River.
I bought the property because I grew up in the area. It's a great place for my family to get together and we use it when it's not rented out. I love the fall and winter in South Haven.
I like to keep the property clean and well equipped, so we have beach equipment and toys, as well as towels and blankets.
If you like cooking, the kitchen has everything you need–dishes and utensils, cookware, even spices.
We have a few board games and movies. That's nice the night you come in and also helps entertain the troops.
Indoor pool and hot tub
Peaceful setting that's also close to the action
Washer and dryer
Newer appliances and air conditioner
Fully equipped grill and utensils that we keep clean
This was our 5th year staying here and always a pleasure. The place is spacious, fun and near everything. You can walk to town, walk to the beach and see great sunsets daily. If you're thinking of staying some where in South Haven, stay HERE!!
The neighbors are quiet, nice and friendly.
Enjoy your stay.
Great location to shops and eateries as well as easy walk to beaches. This is our 9th year staying in weekly rentals. 3.5/5 stars!
Condo easily accommodates six people with plenty of extra air beds, bedding and beach things. Dishwasher soaps were provided as well as kitchen towels. Kitchen was equipped with cooking utinsels and good amount of dinnerware. Nice stack washer/dryer. Laundry soaps/softener was not available and more coffee filters were needed. Baseboards and /corners/cobwebs could be cleaner.
We lost power a few times one evening but may have been due to storm previous day and high (90) temps.
Indoor pool-needs to keep some of the Windows open and air movement as severe chlorine air condition. We really didn't use the pool much because it took at least an hour to make air breathable. Women's shower did not work. Hot tub was nice feature as water was not heated which was fine for us.
Nice place to stay. This was our first time in a condo vs a home. Quiet, safe and would probably stay again.
I visited with my family in February and enjoyed the rental very much. Great location near town, lovely living space upstairs. Would be great for a spring or fall weekend when we could also enjoy the outdoor patio spaces.
There were lots of games and books and the kitchen was fully stocked for cooking. I noticed beach toys and blankets as well for summer renters.
Connie was a delight to work with both before and after our stay. Everything went smoothly from making the initial reservation through the return of the deposit.
I would highly recommend this house. It slept the 5 of us comfortably - 2 kids shared a bed, the other slept on the couch. Connie, the owner, was charming and helpful. No complaints at all. Thanks! Sam
The condo served our needs well! There were 4 of us adults and 2 kids (ages 10, 7). We went to the beach daily as well as downtown where the shops and restaurants are. This was our 4th year of staying in S. Haven but first time in this condo. We were familiar with where this condo was located, so that played a big part in our decision to stay there. We typically walked to the downtown area but drove to the beach because walking 5-6 blocks with 2 kids and all of your beach stuff is a little too ambitious for us. We didn't mind paying the $9 daily fee to park close to the beach. It's only a few blocks to walk to the Harbor where our favorite places to eat/drink are located: Idler, Admiral Jack's (newly built in last year), and Lou's, all right on the water.
The upstairs living area, dining area, and kitchen were perfect for our needs. We enjoyed the balcony that had a view of the river and boat docking area. The bedrooms were good sized and we were able to use both twin air mattresses for our kids and put them in room with us. It made one bedroom a little tight for space, but that's to be expected. The 2 bedrooms are ideal for 4 people rather than 6, but of course we were saving some money by not renting a 3BR and putting the kids in their own room.
We appreciated all of the beach chairs, towels, cooler, beach toys, etc that were available for us to use. If you want shade on the beach, just bring your own umbrella. That was about the only thing missing, but it didn't bother us. We enjoyed getting some rays on the beach for 3-4 hours in the afternoon each day. :-)
We also used the grill on the deck for multiple meals in the evening. It came in handy. The kitchen was stocked with all utensils, dishes, pans, that we needed, which was great. My only complaint on the kitchen was that we had to make our own ice. I assume the ice maker is not hooked up, even though the new fridge has the capability? Since we packed a cooler for the beach daily, an ice maker would have came in handy.
We biked almost daily and didn't discover the bike trail just on the other side of river from the condo until later in the week. The trail rides along the river, is very flat, shaded and scenic. That was a great little trail and very close access to condo. We also rented kayak and paddle board one day and where able to put them on the river right by our condo. That was very handy!
We would definitely stay there again! Thanks, Connie for providing it!
The condo was nice. The upstairs was comfy. The downstairs was a little musty. Great location as you could easily walk to the beach or downtown. The owner was wonderful - very friendly, helpful and quick to respond to all of our questions. I would definitely stay there again.
