Kathy moved to Nevada City in 1994 after graduating from UCSB and growing up in Southern California. While working at a summer camp, she met the Southern man of her dreams, Brett (from Southwestern Virginia) and they married in 2002. They have two young girls, Roxy and Scarlet.
Kathy worked for the South Yuba River Citizens League for 10 years, and while there founded the Wild & Scenic Film Festival. She was the Festival Director for the first 8 years. Currently she is a graphic designer, working for a large variety of local businesses and non profits. She also teaches spinning at the South Yuba Club (one of the best and most intense spin classes around!) Brett has been in solar sales for over 10 years, working for SMA America.
The family loves adventuring in the Sierra, seeing live music and enjoying their incredible and magical community of Nevada City.

We bought this property because we LOVE downtown Nevada City.
The community around us and in Nevada County makes for such a magical place to live! We love sharing it with others.
We enjoyed our getaway weekend, the bungalow was comfy cozy, everything we needed was so kindly provided, we would definitely stay there again!
We enjoyed our stay very much. Kathy was very welcoming, even leaving a few nice treats for us. The place is very small but well equipped and great proximity to town!
Very comfortable and well-appointed little rental near downtown Nevada City...but not TOO near. It was quiet and lovely...would stay there again.
If you are planning a trip to the California Gold Country Nevada City is a perfect place to explore this beautiful area. The bungalow has everything you need for an enjoyable stay, from the outdoor patio area/BBQ, walking distance to town and thoughtfulness of Kathy.
We found the bungalow to be well equipped, very clean and well stocked. We were so comfortable and appreciative of every
detail that was provided for our stay. Kathy gave us tips for hikes, places to river raft and we enjoyed it all.
Thanks for a memorable stay!!

Super cute cottage and nice extra's inside. The owners are nice too.
I would go back there for sure!
The bungalow was just the place for a relaxing and fun birthday weekend. Just as described, the place is is very clean, well-appointed and super comfy, just the right size, with everything you need to have a great time. The hosts are terrific and do everything to make your stay a happy one. The neighborhood is beautiful, quiet and close to downtown restaurants and shopping. We especially loved Ike's Quarter Cafe for breakfast and lunch, just a short walk from the bungalow. The hosts have info on all kinds of activities and we enjoyed some great hikes. We had a wonderful time and would be super happy to return. Thanks for a great getaway!
