Perfect Get-Away Cabin

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely LOVED this adorable cabin and the location! It was very quiet! The Owner was over the top amazing and went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. The small details in this little place were so thoughtful. It was cozy, comfortable, and the PERFECT little romantic get-away! I cannot wait to go back!

Rustic relaxation

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with my husband and 2 boys, ages 4 & 2. We had a great time. It's quiet and relaxing. No tv or wifi and it was nice to get unplugged for a few days. We brought an air mattress with us since there was just the one bed. There was a twin sized roll away bed there also. Over all we had a great time. My kids loved exploring the property and walking down to the lake. We had a campfire in the fire pit. They saw fire flies for the first time and were so excited. I would recommend it but keep in mind it is rustic. The cabin is very cute and cozy.

Just what I hoped for...

  • 5 of 5

Peaceful, quiet, comfortable. Lost myself in nature. 40 minutes from my home in Austin , but worlds away from the rat race. Plan to return...

Cant believe this place had any good reviews.

  • 1 of 5

If i could have left no stars i would have but I couldnt publish this review without atleast one. I make all online purchases based on reviews and cannot believe this place had any positive ones. This listing is very misleading. Its says secluded on 5 acres. Its not secluded at all. Theres two houses a stones throw on either side and two other shedlike buildings not much further. The pictures are taken with these other buildings just out of the frame. You cannot flush toilet paper in the toilet. There is a sign that says the septic is very old and to place toilet paper in the trash basket. Not all of the windows open so you cant get much fresh air and the ones that do open have screens that are so badly ripped up that the mosquitos and nats come pouring inside. Listing says there is a trail to the lake. Its a trail to a swampy bog of mud and grass adjacent to the lake.

I hope this review helps someone else from wasting a night of there vacation.

Owner's Response: I’m sorry their stay wasn’t up to their liking. We had a couple conversations prior to their arrival to make sure the size of the Cabin was up to their expectations. These conversations made them aware of any concerns for children of a young age, which did not seem to be an issue with the Guest at that time. The cabin has only one, slightly damaged screen in concerns to the front door. We do realize this is an inconvenience and we apologize we were unable to have it corrected before their arrival. All of the other window screens were checked and no damage was found. The room also contains a functional ceiling fan and A/C system. The amount of rain we’ve received this year has caused the lake to rise and flood in some parts of the property, a situation beyond my control. Elevation of the land that Cabin sits on keeps it away from these potential high water areas. However, it is conveyed to potential Guests that is not a “beach” type of environment. The trail to the lake on our property is maintained to keep the grass short, but also preserve the ideal that this is still a very natural environment. There is no boat dock or slip accessible from our location. Our Cabin is very old, the septic system is also very old. It is posted in the restroom on how to dispose of any toilet paper used during the stay. Despite our legal right to only allow full refunds outside of 30 days prior to the arrival date of a Guest, I offered and provided, that they only pay for the night in which the Guest had stayed, along with agreed cleaning fee and taxes due on that occupancy, refunding them the rest of their expected stay. I even received acknowledgement that the Guest was satisfied with the refund and appreciated how quickly I helped to resolve the issue, thanking me in doing so. It is not my intention to mislead potential guests or to not provide as much information and courtesy prior to their stay. I take this business very seriously and I take pride in every review I receive, be it good or bad, as they are all opportunities to grow this experience. The photos provided on our site, regarding the location and property around the Cabin, purposely only show my property as it would be a violation of privacy to take photos of my Neighbors and their property. One of the houses they speak of is my Home, where my family has lived since 1957. It allows me to keep my eye on my Cabin as well as be there for whatever my Guests need during their stay. Respectfully subm
