Renovations and much needed TLC/upgrades are complete with our "1st phase"; including a new roof, siding, heating unit, new furniture and an electrical upgrade. This rustic/not so rustic cabin is located directly on Newark Pond. This two bedroom rental includes one queen size bed, a set of bunk beds and a queen sofa/bed in the living area. Also, one full bathroom and a galley style kitchen includes a deck overlooking the pond complete with an outdoor Weber Grill for your BBQ! Bring your kayaks and fishing poles and journey around Loon Island (a protected reserve) or enjoy a visit by the cabin of the loons with their young! Fish and swim directly from the dock. Fall foliage and hunting is always a favorite in Vermont and the cabin has full Southern exposure as it looks down nearly the entire length of the pond! We have wifi and offer a landline phone for local calls only (we recommend that guests bring a phone card for long distance calls). In addition, we offer a wide genre of DVDs and board games for your enjoyment. Burke Mountain and Lake Willoughby are only a short drive away and offer a multitude of trails for hiking and mountain biking. Also, Jay Peak in Westfield, offers an indoor water park, under an hour drive! Simply relax and enjoy a truly peaceful vacation! A canoe is available as well with your rental.
We are the proud new owners of Loon Lodge! We have made many improvements in the past year to make your stay a very relaxing and comforting one, including a new roof, siding, heating, and an electrical upgrade. Phase 2 of our renovations are in the future and they include "cosmetic renovations" to the older part of the cabin as the necessary/most important renovations are complete.
Lisa Ann Fragale purchased this cabin in 2014
We rented this cabin for 3 winters and when the opportunity came to purchase it, we did not hesitate! We also rented it for 1 week every summer and could not wait to get back to paradise. This is truly a rustic/not so rustic 'off the grid' experience. There is limited cell phone service, but only a 10-15 minute drive to town! Truly a peaceful experience!
Beautiful views from the deck and the large picture window in the living area. We really enjoyed grilling on the deck while overlooking this crystal clear pond. We will definitely bring our kayaks next time and paddle around Loon island for peeks of the loons and hopefully their babies! We also loved the Lyndonville Diner in town, the food was delicious and the atmosphere relaxed. People are so nice and accommodating. A+
Lovely cabin! The attention to detail inside the cabin was amazing. Couldn't ask for more. Gorgeous scenery. Lovely morning walks. We are already making plans to return next year. Galen G. San Antonio, Texas
My best friend and I rented this cabin for a beautiful fall getaway and had a great stay. The cabin was in great condition and the location could not be more idyllic. We took some amazing sunset shots over the pond and some of the mist rising off the lake on a chilly morning. It feels cozy, quiet, and peaceful. We really enjoyed drinking a hot cup of tea while looking out over the pond. Plus, the fall foliage was spectacular.
The cabin itself is fully stocked with pots and pans, basic kitchen spices, blankets, towels, and they have a fun DVD collection. The wifi was helpful, if a little spotty when we tried to stream anything like youtube. We ended up doing some great hiking at Victory State Forest (even if we got a little lost getting there) and Willoughby Lake. We would 100% recommend the very short drive to the lake and it only takes a couple hours to hike Mount Pisgah which has some amazing views. We would unequivocally recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a classic, peaceful, New England vacation. I'd love to visit again when it was warmer to take even better advantage of the pond!
Thank you Lisa for the use of your wonderful cabin!
This cabin in the country is a secluded getaway on a small, peaceful lake. We paddled out on the canoe and kayak onto glassy water to see the fall colors at sunrise, and at night we sat by the outdoor fire under a brilliant night sky.
Lisa is great to work with; responsive and friendly. The wooden interior is charming, and the quiet setting will calm your soul.
My husband and I had a lovely long weekend at the cabin . Beautiful location with amazing views. The cabin is right on the water with its own dock and has great views from the living room area and dinning room. The cabin was well maintained , clean and fully stocked (kitchen, bathroom, plenty blankets ) inside and out with everything you could possible need. Books, board games, card game, dvd`s movies for a fun and relaxing night . Fabulous deck, canoe, kayak, pedal boat and stone fire pit so you can enjoy on the pond. My husband enjoyed grilling and we had relaxing nights cooking s`mores over the fire pit while listening the loons. The living room and deck was our favorite place to relax. We had a lot of fun in our pedal boat adventure around the pond. Clean and clear water for swimming . Also we went hiking in the area. Couple of nights we ventured into town ( Lyndonville ) and found cute stores, nice supermarket, delicious restaurants and the best coffee in town (The Grindstone Cafe ) People were friendly and helpful. We couldn’t ask for a better and peaceful place to stay ! Had an AMAZING time .. we highly recommend this cabin for your stay.
Did I mention the view from the deck "SPECTACULAR “
Thank you Lisa for helping us make this a memorable occasion. We are looking forward to our return visit.

What a beautiful place on the lake! Just what we need, nice, cozy and quiet! Everything was there (just a litle thing; the matress on the bed in the living room).
My family and I, we realy appreciate our week-end and we already looking to book againg for a other time at Newark pond.
This is a gorgeous little lake in the Northeast Kingdom and the cabin is very charming and comfortable. The lake access was great (just a few steps and you're there) and it was also great to have the grassy yard for playing and relaxing on while roasting marshmallows. There was plenty of space in the cabin for our family of four. It was well-maintained, clean, and had everything we needed for cooking, bed linens, etc. The lake is very close and there are great views from the inside dining area and living room. We especially enjoyed eating outside on the deck for even better views, including several hummingbirds who made regular appearances. As promised, there were also lots of loons. We counted 7-8 a few times during the week, appearing to have a "loon party." There's a small island on the other side of the lake with lots of blueberry bushes on it; we had fun canoeing and kayaking there as well as around the perimeter of the lake. Cool, clear water for swimming. The site is near other cabins, so we weren't totally isolated, but we also had plenty of privacy. Lots of good hikes in the area, including Bald Mountain, which you can see when kayaking on the other end of the lake. I definitely recommend this gem.
