Lake Worth House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

This charming two bedroom cottage in the heart of Lake Worth is a wonderful mix of tropical serenity, downtown convenience, and beachside peacefulness.

Built in 1924, this historic home combines classic finishes -- like a claw-foot bath tub and hardwood floors -- with modern conveniences -- like blanket WiFi and remote-controlled ceiling fans in most rooms.

Just want to hang around the house? Sleep late and then enjoy coffee on the deck, overlooking the private, dog-friendly yard bursting with foliage (papaya, mango, and nectarine trees, as well as six different varieties of palm trees), within earshot of the waterfall. Make a snack in the recently updated kitchen, or grill some fresh fish on the gas grill out back. Kick off your flip-flops and watch cable television on the 36-inch high-def tv. Check email using the house's complimentary WiFi. Have a hot shower either under the leaves in the private outdoor shower, or in the claw-foot tub in the recently renovated bathroom.

Feel like going out? Within two blocks, you'll find bars, restaurants, shopping, and nightlife. Attire ranges from suit-and-tie to swimsuits-and-beach-shoes; it all depends on you! You can also easily walk to Lake Worth's brand new grocery store, a bank, a drugstore, the post office, a movie theater, a playhouse, a gym, and a bus stop, all of which are within three blocks of the house. If you're feeling active, Lake Worth's Municipal Golf Course, public boat launch, and brand new Kayak Launch (opening spring 2012) are all about 3/4 mile away.

Feel like exploring? Borrow the beach cruisers and pedal along the scenic bike route, past numerous historic homes adjacent to the Intracoastal Waterway. Keep your eyes open for manatees chomping on sea grass!

Ready to hit the beach? Borrow the house's beach gear (umbrella, chairs, towels, cooler, noodles), and walk, bike, or drive 1.5 miles to Lake Worth's public beach, which also has a recently-renovated fishing pier (that rents fishing gear).

Want to see some other towns? Lake Worth is located in the middle of Palm Beach County. In just a short drive, you can easily reach West Palm Beach, Delray Beach, Boca Raton, and Jupiter. Roger Dean Stadium, which hosts Spring Training each year for both the Florida Marlins and the St Louis Cardinals, is just 21 miles north.

If you're flying to Lake Worth, the closest commercial airports are Palm Beach International (7.5 miles) and Fort Lauderdale International (43 miles). (If you're flying your own plane, Lantana's Palm Beach County Park Airport is 4 miles away.) If you're driving to Lake Worth, this house is 1.5 miles off I-95.

Great Location, Great Town!

  • 4 of 5

This was the perfect spot for a month away from winter! Lake Worth was described to us by locals as "Key West 30 years ago" and we believe it. Eclectic, funky, and with a wide variety of characters of all ages. Walk to restaurants, grocery store, beach, playhouse and golf course. You could spend a lot of time here without getting into a car. We put hundreds of miles on our bikes trekking up and down A1A with great ocean views, a 'share the road' mentality' and endless flat terrain. The house itself is as advertised - a cottage. The main bedroom is large with plenty of closet and dresser space, the second bedroom is small, very small. The backyard is where you do most of your at-home living and it is perfect. The waterfall is soothing, the seating is comfortable for reading and you'll take most of your meals outside. The owner is easily contacted and very responsive. We'll definitely be back in the future.

Felt like home

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I enjoyed 5 days in the Lake Worth area and loved this house. The owner thought of every possible detail. The house was stocked with just about everything we needed( we bought some ibuprofen and added to your supply) Without a doubt whenever we return to the area we intend on staying here again..

Excellent "cottage" in excellent location...

  • 5 of 5

This cottage is absolutely adorable - quaint & charming, rustic but with some newer touches -(The back yard is just what is needed to whisk you away when you have your morning coffee or evening glass of wine with adirondack style chairs, pink flamingos, a pond with waterfall and tall fence to afford you plenty of privacy and tranquility for being right in town, and the rain shower head is wonderful). Towels are plentiful, kitchen is stocked enough to get you started - and roomy enough to cook meals if you want. Location is perfect - walkable to Publix for groceries and downtown for restaurants and nightlife. The beach is further (more of a bike ride away). If you do have a car - many charming towns are moments away. Willy was a wonderful host & very easy to work with.

Would definitely stay again!

Relaxing vacation

  • 4 of 5

Our family enjoyed a relaxing spring break in this house. We are very familiar with the area, but hadn't been there in a few years. The location makes bike rides to the beach, and strolls out to dinner downtown very easy. A short walk to Publix got us the essentials, but the house is well stocked in case you forget anything (very thoughtful- thank you!). We ate out a lot, because there are so many good options, but I did some light cooking in the perfectly serviceable kitchen. The backyard garden is lovely, cool, quiet, clean and comfortable. The outdoor shower (though not enclosed and "private") was great for cleaning up after being on the beach. Our 2 daughters - 11 and 14, shared the small room, but they get along well. Big sister only had to sleep on the couch one night. Our 10 year old lab was very happy to not be left in a kennel, and was quite content with the air-conditioning.

It's hard to find a house in this area for weekly rental that is both kid and pet-friendly while being affordable, clean, very cute and well located. This was a great find for us and we hope to return!

Great Cottage in Lake Worth

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this house for a week while visiting family in Lake Worth, and it was the perfect little vacation cottage. While we did have a car, you could certainly stay here without one - everything you need is within walking distance. There is a grocery store one block up, and lots of restaurants, shops and bars downtown just a few blocks away. The beach is very close, and things such as beach chairs, umbrellas and beach towels are all provided at the house. The yard is really lovely, with a screened in patio so you can still enjoy the outdoors even in the rain. The house/yard are completely enclosed by a fence, so I can see how it would be great for dogs - I only wish mine could have made the trip with me! Also, the owner was very responsive to emails and easy to communicate/work with. We will definitely consider staying here again next time we visit.
