About Yishai & Rivka Yuval

Rivka and I were both born in Israel, live in the old city of Jerusalem since 1968 and love it. We have 6 children and 8 grand-children. Rivka was a high-school teacher and I worked in high-tech industry.

We enjoy being retired, spending time of what we like to do; travelling either in the country or overseas and experiencing new places, styles and cultures, meeting people and learn about their life.

Yishai & Rivka Yuval purchased this apartment in 1980

Guestbook comments from the owner

This apartment was probably the best part of our Jerusalem vacation. Located in the Jewish Quarter, in heart of the Old City, this small but cozy and immaculate apartment offered unique views of the Old City: you can see the holiest places for Christianity, Judaism, and Islam all at once from the windows! We stayed here with a family of four (with 2 teenage sons). Four our family, the place was small, but never felt cramped, thanks to the efficient layout. The place is within walking distance of restaurants, shops, ATM. Hurva Square is around the corner. Nearest public parking was a 10 min. walk nearby at Zion Gate, but taxis can come closer to this place. The place has a queen-size bed, and folding couch that sleeps two more, and a small dining room table that folds to accommodate up to 5 people easily. It has a well-equipped kitchen that can be used by kosher or non-kosher guests. The place is quiet and comfortable. It really felt like home away from home, as we stayed here for 2 weeks. Excellent value for money. The best part is the warm, hospitable and helpful landlord, who lives right above the apartment. We would recommend this without a doubt. We hope to go back there some day!

Parking of private cars isn't permitted inside the old city. Best commuting is by taxi up to the main parking lot of the Jewish quarter. Ask us for a taxi driver from the airport. Call us to pick you up or follow the directions below (We can send you a map as well). Take Jewish Qtr. street for about 500 m. and turn right in Plugat Hakotel st. It's windy street leading to small square. Take the 4 steps up. Straight ahead, left to the building's arched entrance, there is an exterior staircase. Climb up 1 floor. The door in front is ours.

Incredible experience

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at Yishai's apartment in The old city of Jerusalem. Yishai and his wife really treated us like family, he even picked me up as we were a bit lost, and helped carry my bags. They even left us a homemade cake. The place is in the heart of the old city with views of the kotel and Temple Mount. The apartment was extremely clean, cozy and full of amenities. It was way beyond anything we expected, from the comfortable bed to remodeled bathroom, this place has it all. And the hosts were very welcoming, available whenever we needed them and made us feel like locals. Can't thank Yishai enough. If you want to experience Jerusalem, there is no better way than to stay at this apartment!

Beautifully set up with everything; hosts are very nice and helpful. Very clean. Best location!

  • 5 of 5

Rivka and Yishai have thought of everything: excellent communication before our arrival, contacting us to make sure we found them - Rivka came out and met us. The flat is beautifully organized with nice clean linens, all the kitchen and bathroom accessories, generous tea/ coffee, milk, and toiletries, TV and lovely wall hangings. The arrangement within the flat is very comfortable. The view to the Dome of the Rock and over the Old City is great, and they kindly shared their upstairs view as well. The location in the Jewish Quarter was perfect for exploring Old Jerusalem. Everything was clean and neat. Excellent value. Very gracious hosts. Highly recommended!

Jewish Quarter charm

  • 5 of 5

You, who never have visit Jerusalem , what are you waiting for??? You would consider it your one of the best, meaningful, fulfilling trip ever!!! Who made it even better then we expected? Yishai and his wife, they meet us (waiting hours for our arrival) at the door with home made cake, made us feel like we were staying with close relatives. Apartment was spectacular with breathtaking views right in the middle of jewish quarter. After long walks, educational trips and excursions resting at local restaurants and watching people passing by crossing Hurva square was right next to our door steps. We were amazed that we could have all modern accommodations in the heart of oldest city in the world delivered to us in ease. we will defiantly stay at the same apartment next time, and we know that next time is approaching quickly:)

Quaint Apartment in Jerusalem

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is wonderfully cozy and comfortable. It's location within the walls of Jerusalem makes accessing all of the sites there very easy. The owners are very helpful and very welcoming. They also have one of the best views of Jerusalem from their patio upstairs. Everything exceeded expectations and I would recommend this rental to anyone who is going to Jerusalem

Incredible View and Wonderful Accommodations

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this apartment as part of my sabbatical. It was wonderful--well located with so many food choices within a short distance. The view is one of the best in Jerusalem. The owners are helpful without being overbearing. The apartment itself has everything you need, even shampoo and laundry soap. The kitchen has kosher dishes for those who use them and others for those who do not. It is comfortable and met all of our expectations. It was a great experience. A great opportunity for anyone who wishes to know what it is like to live in the Old City.

Unforgetable stay!!!

  • 5 of 5

This was a trip of a lifetime for us! A beautiful little apartment in the heart of the Jewish Quarter of Old City Jerusalem. We were so warmly welcomed....even fresh baked treats awaited us!

The apartment is very well appointed with all you would need for a comfortable stay. Location is second to none with sights, restaurants, markets, shopping just minutes from your front door. Our hosts were so gracious...even had a taxi arranged for us to and from the airport.

Thank you Yishai and Rivka for all you have done for us. We will always remember.
