This cozy home is perfect for a family summer vacation or winter ski trip. Located at 615 Bluerock Road, Gardnerville, just 35 minutes from Heavenly and 50 minutes from Kirkwood.
About the house
Our home is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 1200 sq. ft. single-family home. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, the master bathroom has a jetted tub. The second bedroom has a full size bed and the third bedroom has a twin size bed. Linen and towels are available for up to 6 people. Kitchen has refrigerator, electric stove oven, microwave, coffee maker, and utensils for 6. Garage is attached and can accomodate one vehicle with plenty of street parking. Washer and dryer are inside the house. Front and back yards are fully landscaped. There is a propane BBQ grill in the backyard, a picnic table and a swing chair, perfect for a summertime BBQ.
About the area
The Sierra Nevadas is a perfect get-away for all outdoor enthusiasts, there is something for everyone! In spring/summer, activities include hiking, rockcliming, mountain biking, dirtbike riding, kayaking, sailing, parasailing, boating, water skiing, fishing and horseback-riding. In winter, world reknown ski resorts all around Lake Tahoe offer downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and tubing! In between outdoor activities, there are many restaurants, bars, casinos that offer great food and nightlife.

I have lived in Gardnerville for 7 years and previously in California. My favorite leisure activity in the summer is exploring the Sierra Nevadas hiking trails with my Siberian Husky, and in the winter snowshoeing with my dog.

This is my primary home for 6 years. When I got married, I moved to Southern California. My husband and I both like the Carson Valley area so we decide to keep the house and share it as a vacation home with other travelers!
It's a short walk to the end of the block where you will find open BLM area.
Not fancy, but clean and very convenient for our stay. Would definitely stay here again.
This home is on a quiet street along the edge of a large subdivision built (I'm guessing) in the 60's. It's at the very southern edge of Gardnerville and has nice views of the mountains. There are lot's of amenities like Wi-Fi, Garage, AC (Swamp Cooler), spacious kitchen, 3 BR's, gas grill etc. The master bedroom had a comfortable bed and a good shower in the bath. There were a couple of minor things that if improved would have made me give this 5 *'s. One, we had a lot of trouble getting the Wi-Fi to work but a call to Mary helped us get it going. My suggestion is for Mary to type out some simple instructions to get logon along with the password required. The second thing was a brief explanation of what a Swamp Cooler is and how do you make it work. I've lived in the East for 40 years and never have seen one. Again, a call to Mary provided the information and it worked very well during 4 very hot days we spent there in August. The third is the kitchen faucet desperately needed tightening. We had to hold on to the base whenever you turned it on or off. I tried to find a wrench to tighten it but failed. The final item is the coffee maker. It's an old Gevalia that kept turning off before all the coffee brewed. It also uses a cone coffee filter (which was not supplied). I've stayed in 40 - 50 VRBO's and never encountered a need for cone filters. I always bring regular coffee filters with me but not cone filters. My advice? Buy a $15 Mr. Coffee maker at Wal-mart. Again...I highly recommend Mary's house and with a few improvements it would have been perfect

A good place for families to stay. Nice backyard. Transaction was professional and courteous. Quiet neighborhood. Near scenic high-desert walking trails.
Great yard for family to run around. Kitchen supplies/laundry facilities made stay easy and more economical than hotel. Made several meals and enjoyed hosting guests in large family room. Activities within 45 min drive or less. Just like photos, clean, in quiet neighborhood. Owner friendly and process great.
Near Genoa, Virginia City and Lake Tahoe. Good for hiking and skiing within 25 min. Neighborhood ok for kids biking, walking.
We enjoyed our month long stay at this property which was centrally located for our purposes. It's a single story house in a quiet neighborhood with side-walks and it has a huge backyard. A great place for a family with children and or dogs. Two blocks down the street is a place to go roaming with children and pets alike. We were 30-40 miles in any direction to multiple destinations - Mono Lake, Carson City, Tahoe, Genoa. A half-day trip to Brody and Virginia City. The property came fully furnished, has a swamp cooler, dishwasher, washer/dryer and internet. We only used the swap cooler twice during our stay as the house stayed fairly cool most days. We enjoyed several excellent meals, Saletti's Restaurant & Bar, Minden, NV., The Grill Next Door and Hanu Coffee both located in the Rancho's area, Thai Jasmine in Gardnerville. Max's pet store and in the same complex is a chocolate shoppe that makes their own delicious treats onsite. We found that the 7-eleven on 395 had the best friendly service and fuel prices, the next best was Costco in Carson City, third best was Arco in Carson City and Gardnervlle/Minden. Would recommend this property to anyone seeking a quiet place to land after a day of exploring, working and or wanting to be centrally located to multiple destinations.
