Hannah's Clearing is in the heart of the Haast wilderness, offering
hunting, fishing, cray and whitebait. For those wishing to get off
the beaten track there are numerous walks into the rain-forest. In
season the nearby lakes and rivers offer up salmon and trout. The
rivers offer jet-boaters the opportunity to view the country from a
different perspective, and local companies offer excursions. There
are two pubs about 15 mins drive, typical West Coast hospitality with whole-
some meals and boasting trophy heads from locally shot prey.
Local helicopter pilots fly hunters and adventurers deep into the
Southern Alps. Get away from the hustle and bustle of life and
revel in the beauty and laid-back life of one of New Zealand's

It is a very isolated spot which is exactly what we were looking for.
There was even a pair of reading glasses. The location was divine and the house was user friendly with everything we needed.
The Mill Cottage is very well situated a short walk from a lovely beach. We only stayed one night as we were making our way down the West Coast to stay with friends in Wanaka but it had everything we needed (apart from loo roll!). The bach was clean and tidy with a comfortable sitting room.
The house was spacious, very well equiped and clean. The location was great, we love the West Coast. We will come back,
Great bach across the road from the beach with a cosy wood burner for wet and cold west coast nights
