We like everywhere we have been in the state of Hawaii so far, but our favourite place is the Kohala Coast on the Big Island because it's not too busy and there is a lot to see and do.
The Owner purchased this condo in 2011
Once we settled on Hawaii for our second home, we visited all the islands and found the Big Island most attractive for our tastes. We vacationed at many resorts in the Kona and Kohala areas. All were fun, but when we decided to buy a home, the Kohala Coast was the clear choice, and Hali'i Kai at Waikoloa Beach with its incredible ocean-front Ocean Club was our hands-down favorite!
A typical days starts off having a cup of Kona coffee on the Lanai and then a walk in the sunshine along the coastal fishermen's trail to the Hilton and Kings shops. Next it's down to the pool for a dip and some reading. Lunch is at the condo and then off to sight see, golf or hit a beach. Happy hour is back at the pool to enjoy the sunset and then home to grill on our Lanai or go out for a nice dinner.
Great experience at this property (our first trip to Hawaii). We stayed for two consecutive weeks. The condo had all the necessary amenities most folks would need and everything worked the way it should. The condo's ground floor entry, (real) high speed WiFi, closeness to the Beach Club and the Hali'i Kai property's proximity to King's Shops, the Queen's Market and Hapuna Beach made our stay comfortable and convenient. No noise experienced from adjacent condo's (which is a must because we like our sleep). Also a hat's off the the lovely staff (especially Cathy) at the Beach Club. Richard (owner) was a pleasure to deal with (responsive and no nonsense).
We stayed here for 10 days in March and really enjoyed it. The location within the complex is excellent, a 60 second walk to the pool and beach club (given how long this complex is you could be walking a long way to the pool if you stay at the other end). The unit was extremely clean and well equipped - everything you need in the kitchen, plus more, and everything you need for the beach as well. The owner was very attentive from the minute we made our initial enquiry. We'd stay here again.
The property was in excellent condition with a premium location. The owner was incredibly responsive throughout the process. We absolutely loved the pool area here and found them to be super family friendly. I would stay in this condo again in a heartbeat!!
We have stayed at Hali'i Kai more than ten times. The location of this unit is one of the best on the property; the unit is clean and well-maintained with care of ownership evident. It is particularly pleasing to find a three bedroom with a BBQ on the lanai and one that does not have twin beds in one of the rooms. Richard was a pleasure to deal with and most responsive. We would definitely rent from Richard and Laura again.
My family of 4 stayed in Halii Kai for one week. The unit was absolutely perfect, very clean and comfortable. The location within the community is fantastic, very close to the pool, huge grassy area and looks out to the ocean. They had everything we needed for the beach, cooler, towels, boogie boards, umbrella, sand toys and much more. Owner was super to work with, he called us on our first day to check in and make sure everything was OK. We would definitely stay in this unit again.
We had a wonderful time. The owner made sure everything was ready and checked in with us to see it remained so. I liked the convenient access to the pool. Our family had a great time and would rent this one again. It really worked for our family.
