Santa Rosa Beach is #2 of the 10 Best Beaches for Spring Travel according to InsideHook Nation, March 2014. 'The best part of the Florida Panhandle is crystal clear waters as warm as a bathtub, stunning architecture and perhaps the best sport-fishing on the continent. Plus: a fine place for golf and paddleboarding!' We are waiting for you!
Enjoy this sunny and comfortably furnished 1600 sq. ft. condo with 3 bedrooms (2 kings, 2 bunks), 2½ baths and a bonus/play room w/sofa sleeper overlooking the giant swimming pool! Equipped with 4 HDTV's, digital cable, internet Wi-Fi and free local and long-distance calling! Blue Mountain Beach offers spectacular views of the coastline and is the highest point anywhere on the Gulf of Mexico (at a whopping elevation of 64 feet).
Blue Mountain Beach stands out along the South Walton coastline with its own naturally laid-back style that will etch long-lasting memories in your mind! We're quietly nestled in the Village of Blue Mountain which is conveniently located halfway between Destin and Panama City Beach on scenic 30-A. We're honored, but not surprised that 30-A just made the Top 10 list for Most Relaxing Scenic Drives in the US and Canada according to the Huffington Post!
Your home features a private Master suite, 2 guest rooms, eat-in kitchen, separate dining room and a living room with 22 foot ceilings. In addition, two sleeper sofas will provide you plenty of room for the entire family and some castaways, or just bring yourselves for a quiet beach getaway! Catch a view of the gulf from the kids room before heading to the beach. Choose from 2 beach accesses which are an easy stroll from the condo and the same distance, approximately 3-4 blocks (.4 miles).
For #1 private beach access, just stroll out the front entrance and turn left on 30-A, hook a quick right onto Redfish Circle and follow it to the end, then hang left on Blue Lupine Way to the west (right) side of the Inn at Blue Mountain Beach. Or visit #2 public beach access by skipping out the back side of the Village onto Hwy 83, grab a right and the road dead ends into the beach. You can also ride bikes or drive your car to the parking areas, and both have public restrooms.
After soaking up the sun and surf all day, hop on your bikes and pedal along the designated paths to explore the town's art gallery, creamery, bakery or daily specials at seven locally owned (non-chain) restaurants. Would you rather eat in? No problem. The fully stocked kitchen has anything you desire to make your stay just like home. And not to worry, Publix is only 3 miles down the road and they will cater to the most discerning taste-buds. Need an excuse not to cook? Let me recommend our (and the local's) favorite restaurants, Local Catch, The Red Bar and Stinky's Fish Camp. You'll thank me later!
And don't think about leaving the beach or pool, but if you want to get wild - head to Point Washington State Forest (literally out the back door) for a true outdoor adventure! Take a hike, mountain bike, picnic or guided horseback rides through 15,399 acres of cypress swamps, pine groves and world’s highest concentration of coastal dune lakes. The Longleaf Pine Greenway Trail is a 3.5, 5 or 10 mile loop meandering along its rare coastal lakes and provides an abundance of wildlife and natural scenery.
Or what about jogging and biking the 19 mile-long Timpoochee Trail which hugs the coastline and breezes through several beach communities of South Walton. And try your skill on the YOLO board (an over-sized surf board) or kayak and paddle effortlessly across Western Lake or any of the area's 15 natural lakes!
Blue Mountain is a perspective unlike any other along 30-A, just a little more rustic and elevated with pristine dune lakes and long-range views from the higher elevations. Blue Mountain is one of the Beaches of South Walton, encompassing 26 miles of pristine coastline. It is the only destination in the country to have its entire coastline certified as “Blue Wave” by the Clean Beaches Council for its commitment to maintaining unspoiled shoreline and natural habitat.
“Blue Mountain Beach” is hardly a mountain but at least they got the beach part right! This coastal community is located in south Walton County on Scenic Hwy 30-A and features many high-end condos and residential neighborhoods worth mentioning like The Villages of Blue Mountain Beach. Do not let the name fool you, there are no mountains in Blue Mountain Beach. However, we sit on one of the highest recorded elevations in Florida and on the Gulf of Mexico. This high elevation appeals to many property owners because it allows expansive beach vistas in all directions. Historians say that the name came from a blue haze around the tall dunes; others credit the lupine - a rare plant with deep blue blossoms. Locals will tell you it’s the view of the water from atop this village's namesake. But ancient legend has it that Indians mistook this blue haze for “Blue Mountains” when they spotted the beach's mountain-like dunes covered in blue wildflowers around dawn. I’d like to believe the Indians!
Popular family-run restaurants and Mom & Pop shops have kept the flavor of the community intact even as it has grown. And the best part is that you won't find any high-rises or discount stores here! So get ready to kick off your shoes, relax and let our 'Barefoot Palace' and Blue Mountain Beach be the family vacation you have always wanted! Blue Mountain is more than just a great beach, it’s a great place!

Why Cindy & Lee Peterson chose Santa Rosa Beach
I've been coming to South Walton since the mid 80's and Blue Mountain Beach is one of my favorite areas of the country. The beaches are second to none and it's just a 7 hour drive from our home in Nashville. And you must bring your bikes (or rent them from Big Daddy's) and ride the 19 mile Timpoochee Trail alongside scenic 30-A.

Good location, spacious.
Kids loved the pool, the unit had everything we needed. Short drive to the beach. Would stay again.
Beautiful, clean and has everything you could possibly need!
Owners are very accommodating. Condo was very clean. Lots of things to do all around the area and on a quiet night at "home".
Fabulous spot and beautiful condo!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Mr Peterson was so generous and so kind to promptly answer any questions we had. This location is close to everything. Most importantly, within miles of our favorite restaurants and so close to the beach. We will definitely be staying here again!
Not too shabby
It is a very family friendly place. Would definitely come back again in the future . Although Crab Island was a pickle juice kinda of looking water do to the low tide. But not taking a star away for that. There was an issue with the wifi and the phone service that is provided. but resolved it myself since its what i do for a living. None the less it was very nice.
Thanks Cindy and Lee
Great condo located close to beach & local restaurants, & far away from the crowds of Destin
Great location. Close to beach and restaurants and not crowded. Perfectly located by the pool and gym. Condo is clean and well stocked. If you have trouble with stairs because of knee issues, this may not be the best place for you as the entry is a stairway up to the main living area and then another set of stairs to the 2nd floor. The owners are amazing and helpful from the time of reservation inquiry to the end. When we arrived the AC wasn't working. Lee answered my call right away and got a repair guy out within the hour. He checked on us to make sure we were ok when it turned out the coil needed to defrost overnight and we were. The AC was repaired the next day and we didn't need to change our plans to accomodate the service. Other than that, it was a great vacation rental and stay. We will definitely plan to rebook this place in the future.
Overall everything was as expected!
The area was great if you are looking for a relaxing, low key spot. The main attractions here are the beach and the pool. There are some shops and places to eat close by!! The Blue Mountain Creamery is great for donuts and coffee in the morning and ice cream at night! You are close to Seaside and Destin if you are looking for activities!
In addition to the stunning sugar white sand beaches of the gulf, we have a golf course to match the views! Santa Rosa Golf Club is located within a cart drive and nestled near forests of pines yet peppered with palms and a links style sandy base. Golf Magazine describes Santa Rosa as 'The Purest Golf in the Panhandle' while others have called it 'The little Augusta of the South.' Whatever it’s called, Santa Rosa Golf Club is certainly unique. Significant changes are being made to the course to overhaul watering and design elements. This course may not be Augusta, but you're always one swing away from a triple bogey on any hole. Santa Rosa is part of the ClubCorp network of resorts and clubs and non-members are WELCOME. Take a detour from the beach and enjoy a round or two of golf at this hidden gem, and stay for breathtaking sunset views of the Gulf from your table at the Vue on 30a Restaurant while enjoying the superb cuisine by Chef Giovanni Filiponne (as seen on FOX TV's Hell’s Kitchen). Named top 3 'best waterfront dining spots' in 2012 for the entire state by Florida Travel + Life Magazine! For Tee times or dinner, call (850) 267-2229
