JUST COME and ENJOY!
We had trouble with the tv; there were 2 controllers and the written instructions were not clear (to us). We had the property manager come over to help us out, after that it was fine . We would have liked more cable channels.
The house itself was great, it was decorated well and the layout was good.
The spa was relaxing, but not functioning 100%. The water level went down after use and did not replenish the level until the next day. So if you wanted to go into the spa in the am and pm, there would not be enough water. The pool man said a valve was not functioning correctly and he would notify the owner. The pool was dirty. There was a ring of scum around the pool just above the waterline.
The location in Cape Coral was great, very convenient to stores and restaurants.
What a beautiful home. Felt like we were right at home and we didn't wanna leave. I recommend this home for everybody you will not be disappointed
We stayed here in April for one week. There was 6 of us, including 3 kids under the age of 5. The house is in fantastic condition and very nicely decorated. The pool area and hot tub worked great. The book available for house information and area information, was extremely helpful and well laid out. The street the house is on, is very quiet. There is a really nice park with splash pad and coffee shop right up the street on Chiquita which our kids loved. There were pool toys and beach toys there for our use.
Great week in Cape Coral!
My husband and I spent the months of February and March in this elegant home. It was very clean and the owner made sure that any concerns or questions we had were taken care of immediately. She made sure that the house had every amenity you could wish for, including a notebook for all the manuals of the appliances and one with her favorite places to eat and visit. The home is elegantly decorated and situated on the lagoon. The neighborhood is quiet but conveniently located. We enjoyed Sanibel, Captiva, Fort Myers Beach and even visited Naples. We took her suggestion to make a day for a cruise to a restaurant and a half day at Cayo Costa beach. Wherever we went it was always relaxing to come back to this lovely home. Some days we just stayed "home" and swam in the pool and grilled on the grill provided. Our 3 children and partners came down at various times during a 10 day period and loved the privacy they had. The guest rooms are situated separate from the master and provide guest privacy and their own bathroom. The master bedroom is vast and sumptuous with a walk in closet. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone.
Our favorite places around the house:
1 - Only 10 minutes from the house but a world apart, secluded Pine Island offers a quiet, laid-back atmosphere, plenty of great fishing, and lush natural environment. This is one of our favorite place! The waterways of Matlacha Pass and in the Pine Island Aquatic Preserve are excellent for kayaking and canoeing. The largest island off Florida’s Gulf Coast, Pine Island offers a small-town atmosphere amid mangroves, three aquatic preserves, and acres of palm, tropical plants and fruit groves. The waters of Pine Island Sound provide not only some of the finest fishing in Florida, but are a haven for birdwatchers and nature lovers.
Just past the Island Time Zone road sign, the tiny town of Matlacha (MAT-luh-shay) welcomes you with art galleries, shops, bars and restaurants with live music, but retains the charm of a quiet fishing village. Tethered to the mainland by the 'fishingest bridge in the U.S.A.' over Matlacha Pass, it's surrounded by dozens of mostly empty isles, an ideal habitat for fish (and the anglers who catch them). Kayakers come here to paddle placid backwaters, but be sure to spend time on dry land, checking out the eclectic collections at galleries such as Lovegrove Gallery & Gardens, where owner and artist Leoma Lovegrove's vibrant paintings cover every surface.Pine Island's sparse traffic--and the bike path running from one end to the other--makes it ideal for cycling. Hikers take the Calusa Heritage Trail, which winds among ancient shell mounds and the remnants of an impressive cross-island canal built by the Calusa Indians, who settled here around A.D. 1. Trail signs illustrate the thriving seaside village that greeted Spanish explorers in the early 1500's.
2 - On Pine island (Bookelia) take the ferry across the quiet waters of Pine Island Sound to Cayo Costa State Park and Cabbage Key
Cayo Costa, is one of the largest barrier islands in Florida. It is accessible only by boat and is served by a public ferry from Pine Island. The state park is home to unique vegetation and gorgeous beaches. The island is a great place for camping, swimming, shelling and fishing. Cayo Costa is a relaxed, seven-mile-long island destination that retains its natural wilderness and sense of remoteness, a place that moves at its own pace.
Cabbage Key: here, you will discover secluded natural beaches that are perfect for relaxation and, should the spirit move you, a romantic getaway. Cabbage Key encompasses 100 acres of under-developed paradise. Visitors can reach the island only by boat, seaplane or water taxi. The island features Old Florida style and a rustic feel that will appeal to nature lovers.
Just a short drive south the house (30 minutes), Sanibel Island is justly famed for its sunsets, lighthouse and luxurious resorts. By far, the most popular activity here is shelling – you barely can walk a step on the beach without indulging in the so-called 'Sanibel Stoop' to search for shells. But there is so much else – fine accommodations, luscious dining (seafood, of course!), fishing, boating, and just plain relaxation, a chance to get away from the hurly burly, a chance to draw closer to nature.
Captiva Island is often associated with the neighboring island of Sanibel to the south. Both are all about the outdoors – biking, sailing, birding and water activities abound. A sliver of land nestled against the state’s southwest coast, Captiva Island has a slightly off-kilter and almost magical feel. You might discover a giant frog there, a restaurant where it’s Christmas all year long, or even a tiny starfish. South Seas Island Resort on the tip of Captiva, boasts 2.5 miles of beaches and a menu of children’s programs tailored to the sea – from sailing school and mermaid- and pirate-play sessions to on-the-beach day camps and a popular catch-and-release fishing program.
30 minutes from our house in Cape Coral (400 Santa Barbara Blvd) is the Sun Splash Water Park. Enjoy 14-acres of water slides, pools and fun at Southwest Florida’s largest waterpark.
Relax on the gently drifting Main Stream River Tube Ride. Thrill at the high-speed excitement of such scream-worthy slides as the Cape Fear, Fun-L-Tunnel, Zoom Flume and 457-foot Electric Slide & Power Surge. Free fall 5 1/2 stories down three distinctly different speed slides – the Thunder Bump, Terror Tube, and X-celerator. Let the little ones frolic at the Tot Spot, grab a summertime snack at the Calypso Café or simply soak up the sun in a lounge chair poolside—there’s fun for everyone!
No matter what kind of water activities you enjoy, Sun Splash Family Waterpark is the perfect place to splash all summer-long.
