About Jon Julien
We live and work in Denver, but have spent a lot of time in Grand Lake. We fell in love with the area 20 years ago. After renting cabins every Christmas for the last 12 years, we decided we should buy our own place to share.
Jon Julien purchased this Cabin in 2014
Why Jon Julien chose Grand Lake
We are mid century design fans and the 'A' frame really appealed to us. We had a lot of fun picking 'rustic modern' pieces to decorate with and use some of the pieces we owned, such as the Herman Miller table. We also like the fact that there is no neighbor to the south and we are at the end of the street with no outlet. It's very peaceful and quiet here. We love the bright southern and eastern exposure that fills the house with light.
What makes this Cabin unique
The best thing about our cabin is the location. We have vacationed for years in the area and always visit the Snow Mountain Nordic Center over Christmas vacation. It's an easy drive there, it's family friendly, and there are lots of things to do. There is also a small cross country track right in the neighborhood that we just discovered last year. Grand Lake is a charming mountain town to visit year round. The people are so friendly and helpful. The summer is bustling and the winter is quiet and beautiful.

this place was absolutely beautiful in the best location. as amazing as the pictures are, they fall short of how truly amazing this place is. Jon the host was more than helpful and made sure our stay was perfect.
Lovely Easter weekend
Very pretty property. Plenty of room for a family or a nice space for just a few people. I would definitely stay again.
Great Little Romantic Cabin
Despite a few minor issues (google maps takes you to the wrong A-Frame cabin for the address they give you, and there was no toilet paper to be found when we got there) we had a great time at this cabin and loved the locations great views. Our weekend here will forever be remembered by my fiance and I as I asked her to marry me here and she said yes! Hope to visit again in the future.
Really sorry about the toilet paper. Our cleaner is supposed to keep track of that and restock as needed. We got after them!
Had a great time!
This place was very charming and unique. Though no direct view of the lake, beautiful view of the woods and sunset. The only thing we wished it had was another bathroom especially with 6 people. The kids stayed upstairs playing and watching TV in their own room up in the loft. Overall, was really great.
This place was just what we were looking for
This cabin is just what we were looking for. Remote enough to see wildlife (we saw moose 5 times in as many days), but close to Grand Lake and RMNP. The house was nicely decorated inside and very natural and rustic outside. When we showed up a day early, (OOOOPS!) the Julien's were so nice and understanding and let us stay. They didn't even charge us. The only thing I would suggest improving would be the deck furniture. It's so beautiful there, we wanted to be outside more than inside. I would definitely stay here again.
Charming, rustic A-Frame in the heart of the Rockies
This 2 BR + loft in Grand Lake is delightful. Kitchen was well -stocked with most everything you could need for basic cooking. The beds are comfortable with soft sheets and extra blankets. The bathroom is clean and spacious, stocked with thirsty towels. Location is ideal for touring the western half of Rocky Mountain National Park or boating in Grand Lake. Jon is a gracious host, very responsive and accommodating. I would come back to this lovely cabin.
3 Miles to Grand Lake shopping and restaurants, boating and fishing on Grand Lake and Shadow Mountain Lake. Walk to golf course, cross-country skiing and tubing hill. 25 minutes to Granby downhill skiing. 45 minutes to Winter Park.
