About the property

Large private suite with two bedrooms, private bath, living room and kitchen

Built in 1881, our home is walking distance to downtown Newport and First Beach. The third floor suite features a large bedroom with a queen size bed, an expansive living area, a private full bath, and your own eat-in kitchen. There is a second bedroom with a queen size bed that we will offer on occasion.

This is a very spacious and beautiful suite in a historic Newport mansion. The home has a distinguished history, and was faithfully restored about 10 years ago. The proximity to town and the beaches make this an ideal location for your visit.

Rhode Island Avenue is dotted with historic Victorian homes. It is close to town and the beaches. The mansions are about one mile away. The center of Newport is a 15 minute walk, as is First Beach. We ride bikes everywhere, and there is a local bike rental shop in walking distance.

We provide an assortment of breakfast items in your suite, including milk, juice, cereal, coffee, fresh fruit and snacks, and bottled water. Let us know if you have any food allergies. Due to fire code restrictions, the kitchen does not have a stove.

Great weekend in Newport

We loved staying at Larna and Dan's beautiful Victorian home. It gave us a taste of old world Newport at it's best. They were wonderful hosts and could be more accommodating. We're definitely coming back.

Favorite place to stay yet!

We've been coming to Newport for years and this was our best VRBO/Airbnb yet. The apt was GORGEOUS and so well appointed. I showed up with two tired small children and the hosts couldn't have been nicer - quick tour and then they gave us our privacy to get the kids to bed. The kitchen is very well stocked with all the snacks and breakfast you'll need. Only downside is no stove but I did notice a hot plate in the cabinet which would have worked fine for making the kids a quick meal if we needed. The pictures don't do this place justice - the place is so well furnished and decorated and it is huge and very private. Loads of natural light and living room windows overlook a lovely garden. Also - there was a whole bookshelf of toddler and baby toys to keep our little ones entertained. Wish our stay was longer! We will be back.

Only feedback is that the payment was a bit confusing. This place is advertised as a four person two bedroom but the ad notes there is a $40 per person charge for "use of a second bedroom" and we were charged $100 for 2 "extra" guests (our kids) even though our party totaled 4 people. The hosts promptly refunded me the $100 upon my inquiry. There is a cleaning fee and a service fee, I do wonder what the service fee includes. In mentioning this I only suggest some clarity on the site. Our stay was worth it.

We can't wait to return!

Wonderful Historic Home

This lovely home that was built in 1881 and restored in 2003 made our visit to Newport complete. From the beautiful exterior to the gorgeous dark wood interior and tastefully decorated New England style rooms, my family felt like we were in a wonderful historic home. The owners, Lorna and Dan were very gracious to us and helpful in providing information about restaurants, beaches, etc. Lorna even gave us beach toys, beach umbrella, beach towels, chairs to take to the beach. The kitchen was fully stocked with breakfast foods and snacks and the refrigerator and freezer had lots of food in it, too. Our stay was too short and I look forward to coming back again!

Beautiful Home

We visited Newport for my wife's birthday and the accommodations were excellent. The two bedroom suite including a kitchen and a large living room was very spacious. The host stocked the refrigerator with breakfast items, water, fresh fruit and were very amenable to our request for special food based on our Vegan lifestyle. The home was beautifully restored in 2003, is a quick walk (10 minutes) to the waterfront for shopping, restaurant and other activities including many sailing options!

I rented these rooms for my wife and her good friend for a get-a-way.

I feared she would never return.

The ladies COULD NOT say enough good things about their stay - EVERY SINGLE PART OF THEIR STAY WAS PERFECT.

Stay here - be happy.
