This lovely home is located in a quiet corner of the northern Berkshires. It is located just over a mile from beautiful Tannery Falls in the Savoy State forest. It is a good home base from which to do area hiking as well as day trips to area attractions in the Berkshires.
The house has a large combined living room and fully-equipped kitchen with cathedral ceilings. Both bedrooms look out on the woods - one with a queen bed and one with a double bed. The bedroom with the double bed has a screened in porch. The spacious bathroom has a stand-up shower and 2-person jacuzzi tub.
There is a hiking trail and wetlands in the woods behind the house. The house is also located across from Starseed Healing Sanctuary and Holistic Retreat Center, which has a number of trails and interesting spots to visit such as a peace labyrinth.
Please note that the unit rented is the upper level of the building. There is also a separate apartment on the lower level that is sometimes occupied by our caretakers in the summer time.
I had a truly wonderful stay. The home was beautiful, spotless, peaceful, and relaxing. Couldn't recommend this any more highly!
The minute we walked in we could tell this property is well cared for. It was very clean and comfortable. The hiking right on the property was well marked and pretty. This was the perfect minI moon for my husband and I to come and unwind after all the wedding madness. We really loved watching the fireflies and lightning storm from the screened in porch. The only complaint was that the bed is kind of old so everytime we moved the springs squeaked really loud (to the point it would wake me up, but I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem for a heavy sleeper). Also, as you travel through the neighborhood DO NOT take Scott Road, even when Google tells you to! Yikes! All that aside, we really enjoyed our stay. We could have moved right in! Beautiful property!
We had a perfect stay here. The house is very comfortable, kitchen has everything you need. Outdoor fire pit under the stars was great. Very private, and secluded. Owner was responsive. Good time!
We loved your place! Inside, it was clean and had everything we needed: towels, sheets, kitchen utensils, and a coffee maker! We didn't miss the TV at all. Outside, there was plenty of room for our energetic 8-year-old to run around, and we enjoyed the fire pit every night. We even saw a deer on our first day! It was so quiet, peaceful, and relaxing, which was what the doctor ordered. Thank you for making a great memory for our family.
My husband and I were looking to get away from our busy & fast paced life south of Boston. Our plan was to hike Mt Greylock, find relaxation time, try a couple restaurants and visit Tannery Falls (short walk near by!). We loved the house for its unique design, wood, natural lighting, the screened in porch, hot tub, and for its privacy. The house was fully equipped and very clean. Even though it was pretty hot outside, the house still managed to stay comfortable without AC.
If you're looking to get away from everyone and everything, this place is for you! The nearest restaurants and grocery stores are over 25 minutes away. Beautiful scenery is everywhere. We got the experience we were looking for and hope to be back again! :)
My husband and I were looking for a quiet getaway for our anniversary without the kids in early July. This cabin was peaceful, quiet, and off the beaten track. Although there's not a great view from the house, we saw plenty driving there and to the nearby towns, and we had a terrific view of the stars at night. It was quiet except for the sounds of nature. The Jacuzzi was nice and we enjoyed sipping cocktails on the screened-in porch. No AC, but we never missed it. The house had everything we needed for a romantic, relaxing getaway, but we're contemplating a return with the kids who will love the spacious yard.
The cabin is located in a rural area, however, there's lots to do! Outdoor activities like hiking and snowshoeing are just outside the door. The property is right on the edge of Savoy State Park, which offers varied terrains and sights. You can see old cemeteries, a fire tower, waterfalls and of course, plenty of wildlife!
